Topic: The Seven Spiritual Qualifications for Heaven

During the Sunday Service, which also featured Zumunta Maza and Zumunta Mata, Elder Yamusa Sh*tta, Esq. delivered a message titled “The Seven Spiritual Qualifications for Heaven,” with reference to Matthew 7:21–23.

In his message, the speaker explained that there are several spiritual requirements expected of believers who desire to inherit the Kingdom of Heaven. He highlighted seven key qualifications that Christians should strive to uphold in their daily lives.

The seven qualifications highlighted were:

1. Faith in Christ — Believers must place their faith in Jesus Christ as the foundation of their salvation, as stated in Acts 16:31.

2. Being Born Again — The preacher emphasized the importance of spiritual rebirth, referencing Jesus' teaching in John 3:3 that one must be born again.

3. Having a Pure Heart Towards Others — Christians were encouraged to maintain pure hearts and genuine intentions towards one another, in line with Matthew 5:8.

4. Seeking Peace — The speaker encouraged believers to actively pursue peace and avoid unnecessary conflicts, drawing from Psalm 34:14.

5. Learning to Forgive — He stressed the importance of forgiveness and encouraged Christians to let go of offences rather than allowing bitterness to take root in their hearts.

6. Loving God and One Another — The preacher reminded the congregation of the commandment to love God wholeheartedly and to love others as oneself, as stated in Matthew 22:37–39.

7. Pressing Towards the Mark — Believers were encouraged to leave the past behind, remain focused on their Christian journey, and continue pressing forward until the end.

Elder Sh*tta emphasized the importance of finishing the Christian race faithfully. He encouraged believers to endure to the end, remain steadfast in their faith, and stay committed to the heavenly race, referencing Revelation 2:10.

Midweek Service Report

Topic: Jesus, the Power of God
Text: 1 Corinthians 1:24
Speaker: Elder Samuel Garba

During the Midweek Service, Elder Samuel Garba delivered a message on the topic “Jesus, the Power of God,” with reference to 1 Corinthians 1:24.

In his message, the preacher emphasized that Christians cannot accomplish God's purpose by relying solely on their own strength. He explained that human strength has limitations and can fail, making it necessary for believers to depend continually on the power of God.

Elder Garba therefore encouraged Christians to put their trust in God, particularly during challenging situations, rather than depending entirely on their abilities or resources. He reminded the congregation that God's power remains sufficient even when human strength falls short.

The preacher also encouraged believers to maintain the fear of God and to demonstrate their reverence for Him through obedience to His instructions. He stressed that trusting God, fearing Him, and obeying His word are essential aspects of living a faithful Christian life.

Sunday Service / Reformed Singers & Levite Choir Day

Topic: The Calling of Unity

During the Sunday Service, which also marked Reformed Singers and Levite Choir Day, Ali Andeyangtso, Esq. delivered a message on “The Calling of Unity,” with reference to Ephesians 4:1–3.

In his message, the speaker explained that believers have a world of their own within the larger world in which they live. He emphasized that one of the most important factors needed to keep this Christian community strong and moving forward is unity.

He encouraged believers to see themselves as prisoners of Christ, just as the Apostle Paul viewed himself as a prisoner of the Lord. This, he explained, reflects a life of complete commitment, humility, and submission to God's purpose.

The speaker further highlighted important characteristics that are essential for maintaining unity among believers:

Humility
Gentleness
Patience

He stressed that genuine unity requires believers to put aside pride, exercise patience, treat one another with gentleness, and remain committed to supporting each other in love.

Sunday Service / BB & GB Enrollment Service Report

Topic: In the World but Not of the World
Texts: John 1:1; John 17:14–15
Speaker: Ordinand Victor

The Sunday Service, which also featured the BB and GB Enrollment Service, was centred on the topic “In the World but Not of the World,” with John 1:1 and John 17:14–15 serving as the biblical texts.

In his message, Ordinand Victor reminded the congregation that although the world is filled with evil, Christians are called to live in it without becoming participants in its sinful ways. He explained that believers have a purpose for being in the world and that God has a better plan for their lives.

The preacher further encouraged Christians to remain firm in their faith regardless of the circumstances they may encounter. He stressed the importance of remaining faithful to God at all times and making every effort not to compromise their faith or disappoint God.

The service also featured several significant activities as part of the BB and GB Enrollment Service. New officers and patrons were formally decorated, marking their acceptance of their respective responsibilities.

In addition, two brand-new trumpets were dedicated during the service, adding a special dimension to the worship and musical ministry of the church.

The congregation also commemorated the 20th-year memorial of the late Engr. Riki Amamra, remembering his life and contributions.

Additionally, the families of Capt. Kennedy Baba Shamaki and Decon Rimamsikwe Riki Amamra also dedicated their children during the service.

The service was combined spiritual teaching, the commissioning of new officers and patrons, musical dedication, remembrance, and children dedication, providing a meaningful occasion for worship, reflection, and renewed commitment to the Christian faith.
