Why The Church of Heavenly Christianity tolerates polygamy?
The Founder of the Church for the Heavenly Christianity (Celestial Church of Christ) The Founding Pastor Prophet Samuel Biléou Joseph Oshoffa (Papa)
Had already two women as Wives, before receiving the Call on May 23, 1947.
He was childless at this time, and he wanted children that will carry his name from generation to generation.
He is lover of Monogamy Marriage, but fate as made him a Polygamy man.
This is the Mother of the Present Pastor Global Overseer Head, His Eminence, His Grace Pastor/Spiritual Head of CCC/ECC Worldwide (Église du Christianisme Céleste) Rev. Pastor Emmanuel Mobiyina Friday Abiodun Oshoffa.
The other woman in the life of Papa Pastor Founder was the first Wife, Mother YAMAN the woman of great recognition whom was his first love. She was also a member of the Cherubim and Seraphim (Christian congregation in Benin Republic).
When he received the revelation, the Lord did not ask him to separate from one of his wives. He took other women and more, that he may one day become a Father of all nation.
Today he is a father of more than fifty offsprings.
The Lord of Celestial Church of Christ had blessed him, answered his prayers and opened his way completely.
1 Corinthians 7:17 says that
everyone lives in the condition that the Lord has given him, where he was when God called him.
This is the rule I give in all churches. >>
Despite the fact that the wives were not forthcoming with child bearing, the LORD Jesus did not condemn him to marry only one wife and divorce the other women.
That's why we accept polygamous marriage in the church.
This is also in keeping with the spirit of the Bible. From the moment when you can respect the women you have chosen and shared all points of view, your love and your wealth with them; with no favoritism but of equal love, you do not commit sin. Sin begins when you despise one over the other, encouraging favoritism in the marriage.
Exodus 21:10, Isaiah 4:1, Deuteronomy 21:15-17.
Exodus 21:10
If he marries another woman, he must not deprive the first one of her food, clothing and marital rights.
Isaiah 4:1
In that day seven women
will take hold of one man
and say, “We will eat our own food
and provide our own clothes;
only let us be called by your name.
Take away our shame and disgrace!”
RESPECT THE LAW OF MARRIAGE IN THE LAND:
The Bible declares that we must respect the authorities of the countries in which we live. From this perspective, it is obvious that in countries where polygamy is not allowed or accepted, celestial Christians must respect the laws of the land and marry only one woman.
Let women pay attention to this information before engaging with a man if they do not want polygamy. If they refuse to marry a man who is already busy, she does not commit sin.
What does the Bible say about Monogamy Marriage:
1Corinthians 7:1-5
Genesis 2:22-24
22. Then the Lord God made a woman from the rib, he had taken out of the man, and he brought her to the man.
23. The man said,
“This is now bone of my bones
and flesh of my flesh;
she shall be called ‘woman,’
for she was taken out of man.”
24. That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh.
Matthew 19:6
Wherefore they are no more twain or two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
Mark 10:9
Therefore what God has joined together, let no man put asunder."

Now the Overseer (Bishop) is to be above reproach, faithful to his wife, temperate, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach, not given to drunkenness, not violent but gentle, not quarrelsome, not a lover of money.
— 1 Timothy 3:12
A deacon must be faithful to his wife and must manage his children and his household well.
— Titus 1:5-6
The reason I left you in Crete was that you might put in order what was left unfinished and appoint (or ordain) elders in every town, as I directed you. An elder must be blameless, faithful to his wife, a man whose children believe and are not open to the charge of being wild and disobedient.
Papa Pastor Prophet Founder (PPF) may not be a man with one wife,
but he obeyed the teachings of loving his wives equally,
controlling/managing his children and household in the word and standard of God,
he was indeed above reproach,
he was faithful to his wives,
he was temperate,
he had self control,
he was a respectful Man of God, a man of integrity,
A man of dignity,
A responsible Man,
he was hospitable to both family and strangers,
he was a great teacher (Tutor),
he was blameless not given to drunkenness and immorality,
he was never violent but gentle,
he was never quarrelsome but a peace maker,
he was never a lover of money but a lover of giving to others no matter your status (whether poor or rich); he was a great giver (Philanthropist).
His children are opened to the believe of righteousness and not charged of being wild, crazy or disobedient.
This is in accordance with the word of God.
Virginity before marriage:
As St. Paul 1Corinthians 7:25- 26
