Having a consistent prayer life doesn’t happen by wishing, or by saying, “I wish I could pray always,” and then suddenly it happens. No, it doesn’t work like that. It starts with making a decision an intentional one. Telling yourself, “I’m going to be deliberate and intentional about my prayer life.” Fix a time and tell yourself, “This is when I will always pray.”
When you do that, it may not happen immediately. It’s not as easy as it sounds, because the devil will try by all means to prevent it. That’s where the Holy Spirit comes in. After making that decision, rely on the Holy Spirit for help. Before you begin, ask the Holy Spirit to help you.
Sometimes you won’t feel like praying, but don’t relent push. Don’t expect the Holy Spirit to pray for you; He is there to help you pray. So when you ask for His help, open your mouth and pray. You learn how to pray by praying, and you develop a consistent prayer life by praying consistently.
Also, cultivate the habit of reading books on prayer and listening to messages on prayer it will help you greatly.
Lastly, spend time meditating on prayer scriptures.
When you spend time meditating, the Holy Spirit will open your eyes to revelations about prayer and other things you need to know concerning prayer. Having a consistent prayer life requires effort. You don’t leave the whole responsibility to God; you also have your part to play.
