TOPIC: PREPARATION FOR HIS COMING (Part 1)
TEXT: Amos 4:12; Matt. 24:42-44; Mark 13:30-37
MINISTER: SIS BLESSING OLAIYA (SIS CAMPUS COORDINATOR)
EVERYONE should know that we are in the very last days, and the trumpet is about to sound. What matters now is the preparation for the rapture of the Saints, or our making heaven at last (1Cor.7:29-31; 1Cor. 15:51-52; Heb. 10:36-37). Remember, if one is about to go on a long journey, he or she will prepare; also, if one is about to meet an important person, such a person will prepare, and if one is going for an important occasion, such a person will prepare. We all should understand that there is no place so important or greater than heaven, and no person is more important than God, nor is any occasion greater than the day of rapture (1Cor 15:51-52). So, we must prepare to meet him (Amos 4:12).
We shall consider this message under the following subheadings:
1. Preparation Required And The Reasons
2. Our Expected Response And The Danger Of Neglect
1. PREPARATION REQUIRED AND THE REASONS
We all should know that we should prepare to meet Him by ensuring genuine salvation, sanctification, restitution, and holiness. We must amend our ways, make peace with one another, and be sure that nothing is standing between God and us (Matt.6:33; John 3:1-7; 1Thess. 4:3-7; 1Thess 5:23). We must maintain peace and holiness (Heb. 12:14), and we should do restitution (Luke 19:1-10). We must be baptised with the Holy Ghost and ensure proper water baptism by immersion. Also, we must ensure all the fruits and gifts of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-23). Also, everyone must ensure and maintain purity (Matt 5:8). Remember, our Father in Heaven is holy and the Highest, and heaven is the holy and highest place. As a result, we must prepare to meet with Him and be in heaven at last. Besides, the day of the rapture is the greatest day on earth and in heaven, so we must prepare for the great occasion (Matt 24:29-31). We should not forget that no one knows that hour, yet it is at hand, so, be prepared (Luke 14:23)
2. OUR EXPECTED RESPONSE AND THE DANGER OF NEGLECT
We should know that our Father in heaven, out of deep love, is compelling us to be prepared because, on that day, there shall be no room or time for preparation, and it is a matter of a moment or second (1Cor 15:51-52). So, we must never be like the foolish virgin (Matt. 25:1-13), our Lord Jesus Christ loves us and is willing to give us the kingdom (Luke 12:32). And as a result, He is compelling us to prepare; He is ready at all times because of the fact that once one misses it, such a person may not have another chance. So, let us prepare, wait in prayer, righteousness, holiness, and peace with God and men, and endeavour to preach in season and out of season and win souls. We should take advantage of this preparation and prepare for the programme "From Sorrow To Joy" (Amos 4:12). And if anyone neglects to prepare now, such a person may miss it forever and be cast into hellfire (Mark 9:43-48).
Note: As the programme is drawing nearer, we should also begin to evangelise with power and demonstration of the same in bus-to-bus, market-to-market and street-to-street evangelism, go for morning, afternoon and evening cry, group or individual evangelism, and invite all to come through preaching and trumpet-blowing evangelism, and must do it as a matter of invitation that others may come and be saved (Matt.5:47: Rev 22:17). So, we must prepare day and night, ensure holiness, engage in fasting and prayers, and pray for our G.O. to be full of Holy Ghost, and power over flow. And talk about the Lord's visitation and wonderful move of God in The Lord's Chosen, also, we must prepare our first fruits (Pro.3:9-10). We must take time off our business or tight schedules to join the evangelists for publicity. We must go everywhere to harvest souls that are perishing, and we should put all machinery at work to invite and attract all to the programme (Matt 21:1-14). We can also make pledges and redeem them and do not forget that the people must sit, so buy at least two or more chairs. As we do and invite all to come, we shall be free, blessed and prosperous, in Jesus name (Rev. 22:17: Luke 14:16-17; Matt 11:27; John 14:12-13).
For sinners and backsliders, they should repent and confess their sins, and give their lives to Jesus Christ (John 10:10, John 14:6, John 3:16; John 8:36; John 1:12; 1John 3:8-9, Pro 28:13; Rom. 10:13, Matt.6:33) Hymns 92, 90, 21 & 124
