DAY 13
PROPHETIC DIRECTION FOR EXPERIENCING A DIVINE SHIFT - 4
Devotional Text: And the same day, when the even was come, he saith unto them, Let us pass over
unto the other side (Mark 4:35).
As we press forward in learning how to secure entrance into our desired shifts, the words of Jesus in
the scripture above needs to be considered.
In this text, the first thing we need to observe is that Jesus was busy with the work of the Master.
The instruction to cross over to the other side came while He was in active service.
Several people expect a divine shift in their lives, they expect a new season to come upon them but
they are not serving. Waiters serve. If you are waiting for God, you need to occupy till He "comes".
His divine visitation will bring you victory.
After Jesus said that they should go to the other side, a storm arose. The storm emerged to hinder
what God had purposed for that "other side".
In Mark 5, Jesus conquered demons, disease, death and delay and the enemy wanted to stop these
from happening. You may also experience storms as you hope to move to the other side but be rest
assured that Jesus stops the storms.
You are moving to your "other side" in Jesus' name
Action Point/Challenge: Speak to your storms!
Prayer: Lord, move me to the "other side" you have prepared for me in Jesus' name.

DAY 12
PROPHETIC DIRECTION FOR EXPERIENCING A DIVINE SHIFT - 3
Devotional Text: Until the time that his word [of prophecy regarding his brothers] came true, The
word of the LORD tested and refined him (Psalm 105:19, Amplified Bible)
The person we are focusing on here is Joseph. God gave him a dream that had a time of its
fulfilment. He was going to become Egypt's Prime Minister. The essence of his destiny is the
preservation of lives that could have been cut short due to hunger.
Furthermore, his life exemplified forgiveness. He forgave his brothers of great wrongs done to him.
His forgiveness of his brothers mirrors the forgiveness Christ offers to us.
One critical aspect we should note in Joseph's life is that before the prophetic word hanging upon his
life came to pass, he went through tests and refinement by the word of God. God used Joseph's
obedience and submission to His word as a vehicle to bring him to his destiny.
There were times he was tempted to take the wrong path and avoid the divine dealings God was
taking him through. He could have taken a short cut but he decided to wait on God and wait for God.
Through several experiences, he built his charisma and character and he became prepared for the
future that God had planned for him. When the opportunity came, he was ready. He had been tried,
tested and could now be trusted.
Action Point/Challenge: What steps am I taking to prepare for the future that God has for me?
Prayer: Lord, build me for the future through your word in Jesus' name. Amen.

DAY 11
PROPHETIC DIRECTION FOR EXPERIENCING A DIVINE SHIFT - 2
Devotional Text: I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what
he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved (Habakkuk 2:1)
Yesterday, we learnt that God's word is the agent that facilitates our spiritual transformation and shift.
We also learnt that we must have a correct standing with God in order to receive divine direction to
the new phases and seasons that He has earmarked for us.
To press on in our examination of the passage above, we see that to receive God's prophetic word,
we must be in a state of prayer. The prophet was standing upon his watch seeking the face of God
on behalf of the land. He was trusting God for a shift for the people of God.
Our generation needs more spiritual watchmen like Habakkuk who are standing upon their watches.
These are intercessors and priests who are alert and actively praying for revival.
The prophet was on his watch with expectancy. This is an evidence that his was pregnant with a
burden. We are so satisfied and it is evident because we have no expectations of divine
interventions that will lead to intersections and transitions.
The season of experiencing divine shifts is here but it is ignited and sustained with the spirit of
prayer!
Action Point/Challenge: Ere you left your room today, did you think to pray?
Prayer Point: Lord, rekindle my prayer altar in the name of Jesus

PROPHETIC DIRECTION FOR EXPERIENCING A DIVINE SHIFT - 1
Devotional Text: I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what
he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved (Habakkuk 2:1)
God's word is the agent that facilitates our transformation and transition from one point to another in
the kingdom. God's word is loaded with power to cause a divine shift in your life.
In the passage above, we see some of the requirements for receiving God's prophetic word for
experiencing a shift. First, we must be in a standing position and not a fallen one. We must have a
right standing with God.
Our spirit is the candle of the Lord and it must possess the light of God in order to receive from Him.
Thoughts and acts of wickedness will put out your candle (Proverbs 24:20).
God's word is received in your spirit man. God speaks to your spirit by the Holy Spirit using different
means. To receive direction from God, you must be standing with Him.
Ensure that your vessel is clean so that you can receive a clear revelation of God's word. A polluted
vessel is very capable of receiving polluted and distorted visions. Beware of dreams and visions that
do not align with the word and nature of God.
The Lord is set to give you a prophetic direction that will launch you into your next season but is your
spirit alive to pick divine signals and sounds?
Action Point/Challenge: Be clean, ye that bear the vessels of the Lord.
Prayer: Lord, keep me alive and awake in Jesus' name

THE RESTORATION OF THE KINGDOM - 2
Many times, out of despair, we ask the question, "God when". We want to know God's
predetermined time for our emancipation and anticipated blessings.
However, God is more concerned about His work in us and through us. He longs to see us
conformed to the image of Christ, living purposefully and building capacity for impact. Who we
become, what we do and the issue of touching lives matters greatly to God.
Jesus' disciples asked about "when" the kingdom would be restored to Israel. Jesus asked them to
receive the Holy Ghost to be empowered to turn their world upside down.
Prioritize purpose more than your immediate needs because your shift resides in it.
Action Point/Challenge: Prioritize purpose
Prayer: Lord, work out your purpose in and through my life in Jesus' name.

Devotional Text: And in the morning, it will be foul weather to day: for the sky is red and lowring. O
ye hypocrites, ye can discern the face of the sky; but can ye not discern the signs of the times?
Matthew 16:3
The ability to discern the times is a critical need for our day. This is because we live in very
challenging times. Understanding the times will enable us to walk in wisdom. The best way to be
accountable for our days and to spend our times effectively is by applying our hearts to wisdom each
day.
In Ephesians 5:15-17, the Bible says, "See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,
[16] Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. [17] Wherefore be ye not unwise, but
understanding what the will of the Lord is.
Divine understanding births illumination and helps to give direction. We need to achieve precision in
terms of receiving divine guidance so that we can always remain in the centre of God's will.
Talking about the days we live in, we need to realize that evil is carefully concealed in some isms
that many people are getting hooked on. One great battle we are called to fight these days are
mental strongholds and imaginations that run contrary to the purpose of God.
The understanding of the Lord and a spiritual perception of the peculiar challenges of our time is an
imperative for being able to correctly fight the good fight of faith.
Knowing what the Lord would have you do at a particular season is a prerequisite for living a life of
impact. Running ahead of God or responding too late is not the will of God for us.
You must discern your times and seasons.
Action Point/Challenge: What would the Lord have you do in this season?
Prayer: Lord, give me divine understanding and cause me to discern the times in Jesus' name.

DAY 7

THE SONS OF ISSACHAR.

Devotional Text: And of the children of Issachar, which were men that had understanding of the
times, to know what Israel ought to do; the heads of them were two hundred; and all their brethren
were at their commandment (1 Chronicles 12:32).
Among the tribes of Israel that came to stand with David at Hebron to see the fulfilment of God’s
The promise of the kingdom being transferred to David was the tribe of Issachar.
The description of this tribe is noteworthy. They are a challenge to us as believers. The sons of
Issachar were described as leaders who had an understanding of the times and they knew what
Israel ought to do it, and the best time to do it is.
As believers, we are placed to provide influence and leadership. We are to be the light of the world
and the salt of the earth. To provide leadership effectively will require that we have insight into our
own times.
Understanding our seasons and discerning the Lord's guidance will enable us to lead purposeful
lives. People are naturally drawn to those with a clear sense of purpose. Understanding the times
and the seasons upon us in our spheres of influence is very important. We can’t be of much blessing
to our generation if we don’t gain insight into the peculiarities of our times and the plans of God for
this dispensation.
One instructive thing we see about the sons of Issachar is that they knew what Israel ought to do.
They were able to discern that it was time for the promise of the Lord to be fulfilled concerning the
kingship of David. For that transition process, warriors and fighters were needed but the list was
incomplete without men who had an understanding of the times.
As we press to see the impact of the gospel in every sphere of influence, we must know that it can
only be secured by the power and wisdom of God. We need divine energy and strategy. Embracing
divine understanding in our spiritual labour paves the way for a kingdom shift.
Action Point/Challenge: Let your light so shine before men through your life, lips and labours.
Prayer: Lord, grant me insight into the times in Jesus' name.

Day 6 of 60

I, DANIEL UNDERSTOOD BY THE BOOKS

Devotional Text: In the first year of his reign, I Daniel understood by books the number of the years, whereof the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah the prophet, that he would accomplish seventy years in the desolations of Jerusalem (Daniel 9:2).

Prophet Daniel is a typical example of a follower of God who had an understanding of the times. He
was a person of divine insight and revelation into the things of God.

In our text, we see Daniel gain an insight (through books) into the time appointed by the Lord for the
expiration of the suffering and captivity of the Israelites from the land of Babylon. This enabled him to position himself as an intercessor and he was used to bring liberation to his people.

In understanding the times appointed by the Lord for us, we cannot do without going into the spiritual archives of what had been written concerning us.

The scriptures provide insights into our times and seasons. As we dig into scriptures, the Holy Spirit
can reveal things to us such as the specific season we are in or the right time to do a particular thing.
We can also gain an insight into the divine timing for us as it pertains to receiving specific divine
blessings.

The picture of your future is captured in scripture. We need to understand that all scripture is
God-breathed. It is given by the inspiration of God. Daniel gained this understanding through books
(scripture). I strongly believe that the Lord directed him or helped him to place attention on that
specific portion in that book for him to make that discovery.

We need to understand that all scripture
is God-breathed. It is given by the inspiration of God. The scriptures will grant us insight into the times we live in. The scriptures provide inspired
information and interpretation of our times. The scriptures talk about the different dispensations in
the agenda of God for humanity. It talks about the things that will characterize the last days.

The scriptures provide insights into our times and seasons. As we dig into scriptures, the Holy Spirit
can reveal things to us such as the specific season we are in or the right time to do a particular thing.
We can also gain an insight into the divine timing for us as it pertains to receiving specific divine
blessings.

Furthermore, God can use books written by Spirit-inspired authors to grant us an insight into our times and seasons. As you go through this devotional, you can llreceive specific words of knowledge, wisdom or instruction that gives you an understanding of the things currently happening in your life and the next
step(s) to take

Action Point/Challenge: What book of the Bible or Christian book are you reading at the moment?
Prayer: Lord, send me a word in this season in Jesus' name.

Day 5 of 60

The Restoration of the Kingdom

So, when they had come together, they began asking Him, saying, “Lord, is it at this time that You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” But He said to them, “It is not for you to know periods of time or appointed times which the Father has set by His own authority; but you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be My witnesses both in Jerusalem and in all Judea, and Samaria, and as far as the remotest part of the earth (Acts 1:6-8, NASB)

The disciples were asking about the restoration of the kingdom but the Lord knew that they needed to be concerned about something more critical – the advancement and the spreading of the gospel (through the power of the Holy Spirit), which will lead to the restitution of all things.

Jesus had spent forty days speaking and teaching them about the kingdom of God but they were desperate to know when the kingdom of Israel would finally be free from the Roman empire. They needed a shift. They needed to understand that the kingdom God's plan for Israel would not kickstart until the gospel has saturated the earth.

There was no need to probe into the exact days that the events of the end time would occur because it is in the power of the Father only. The beginning of the end begins with the rapture and no one except God knows the time.

The disciples asked: "Lord, is it at this time that You are restoring the kingdom to Israel?” The response to that was that they would receive power after the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Therefore, what the Lord wants us to be busy with is occupying till He comes.

Also, the disciples were asking about the timing (when). God wants us to go higher by being more concerned about the people He's sending us to (who) and our purpose and assignment (what).

Our present needs, desires and challenges should drive us to get a sense of purpose. They should not make us lose sight of the kingdom. One lesson in understanding the times and seasons and experiencing a shift is thinking less of timing and pressing into purpose.
