Aside from alcohol, aflatoxins are the deadliest thing sitting in your liver right now.

And they came from your kitchen.

Groundnuts.
Peanuts.
Chilli pepper.
Turmeric.
Even your tomatoes, the ones that started going soft and you blended them anyway because you didn't want to waste money.

But the oga of them all is corn.

Corn stored in heat and humidity grows a mould you cannot see, smell, or taste.

That mould produces aflatoxins, one of the most potent liver carcinogens known to science.

It doesn't kill you today.

It accumulates.
Sits in your liver quietly, for years.
Doing damage you won't feel until the damage is done.

In a country where corn is in everything, pap, akamu, cornflakes, corn flour, popcorn, roasted corn on the roadside, nobody is having this conversation.

And those tomatoes you blended because they were “just a little soft”?

Mould starts inside before it shows outside.

By the time you see it, the aflatoxins are already in the paste.

Your liver is already fighting sugar, wheat, seed oil, and processed food. Now add invisible poison from the ingredients you trust the most.

And here's what nobody connects.

Fatty liver.
Chronic inflammation.
Hepatitis B that half this country carries without knowing. Aflatoxin exposure on top of all of it.

Each one alone, your liver can manage. Stack them together, year after year, on a plate that never changes, and the liver stops repairing.

It starts rewriting.
Cells that should die, don't.
Cells that shouldn't grow, do.

That is how liver cancer begins.

Not overnight.
Not from one thing.

From a stack of damage that was never addressed, because the liver never complained.

Until it did.

ECWA ICT Coordinator Engages Stakeholders on Responsible Digital Communication
The ECWA ICT team, led by Mrs. Christie Dasaro, held a stakeholders’ briefing at the ECWA Headquarters Executive Boardroom to discuss responsible digital communication and the growing influence of social media and AI in shaping public perception.
The session focused on reshaping how people think, act, and share information online using AI, with an emphasis on promoting content that is relevant, accurate, and aligned with ECWA’s mission and values.
During the engagement, ICT personnel of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) highlighted the strategic use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in advancing the church’s work. They noted that emerging technologies can significantly improve effectiveness and efficiency in ministry operations, communication, administration, and outreaches.
The team also stressed the need for a comprehensive ICT policy to guide ECWA institutions and personnel in the responsible, ethical, and productive use of AI. They further recommended the establishment of a data center to support the development of ECWA’s AI driven initiatives and strengthen the organization’s digital infrastructure.
Following the briefing, the team paid a courtesy visit to the ECWA General Secretary, Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe. He encouraged ICT officers to maximize technology in promoting the mission, work, and values of ECWA.
Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe, the ECWA General Secretary, added that, in a media space constantly flooded with diverse content, the ECWA ICT team has a responsibility to ensure that information shared with the public positively shapes and transforms lives to the glory of God.

ECWA General Secretary Commissions Ultra-Modern Health Clinic in Zagun Community

An ultra-modern Primary Health Care Clinic build by Africa Services Nigeria has been commissioned in Zagun, with a call on Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang to address the decades-old road infrastructure needs of the Rukuba people.
Rev. Dr. Ayuba Asheshe, General Secretary of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA), performed the commissioning ceremony and used the occasion to draw attention to the community’s longstanding challenge.

“Since 1976, no governor has addressed the Rukuba people’s access road,” Rev. Dr. Asheshe stated. He challenged Governor Mutfwang to prioritise the road’s repair, emphasising its importance to the development of the area.

The ECWA General Secretary also expressed gratitude to Rev. Ishaku Ibrahim, Director of Africa Services Nigeria, for his service to the people of Rukuba Land, and urged community leaders to drive further development in their locality.

Director Recounts Longstanding Partnership

In his remarks, Rev. Ishaku Ibrahim Mohammed, Director of Africa Services Nigeria, thanked God for the opportunity to serve through the provision of the health facility. He revealed that the project was made possible through his enduring relationship with the ECWA General Secretary, which dates back to their school days.

“Africa Services has done its best through what we have accomplished so far and will continue to do more as the need arises,” Rev. Mohammed assured.

Stakeholders Pledge Support

Delivering a goodwill message, Dr. Kwande Solomon Dawal, Director Plateau State Contributory Health Management Agency (PLASCHEMA), said his organisation had keyed into the vision of providing a befitting primary health care clinic for the community. He expressed joy that the dream had become a reality and promised that PLASCHEMA would ensure the clinic functions effectively.

Hon. Daniel Asama, member representing Bassa/Jos North Federal Constituency in the National Assembly, noted that the project aligns with his vision of transforming rural communities and pledged full support for the initiative.

Community Vows to Protect Facility

Speaking on behalf of the host community, Engr. Ati Ezekiel Angai, President of the BACE Development Association, thanked ECWA, Africa Services, and PLASCHEMA for choosing BACE land for the project. He assured that the community would guide and support the clinic to ensure its sustainability.

Mr. Dauda Kanti, who represented the ECWA Director of Medical Services, gave an assurance to the donor that ECWA Community Services would ensure that none of the numerous clinics handed over by Africa Services would be closed down.

Earlier in his welcome address, Rev. Jerry Damina, Chairman of the Zagun District Church Council (DCC), appreciated the donors, ECWA, and PLASCHEMA for their show of love to the community. He noted that the church would benefit from the gesture, especially as the clinic is situated within the DCC premises.

She was only 14 years old.

Now 8 years in captivity.

Leah Sharibu

A young girl with dreams, hopes, and a future ahead of her.

Kidnapped by Boko Haram.

February, 2018
Yobe state, Northeast Nigeria.

110 girls were kidnapped.

Taken to an unknown location.

5 lost their lives in the process.

104 were later released.

Leah Sharibu, the only girl whom they have refused to set free.

Her offense? Why was her case different?

She refused to renounce her Christian faith—even in the face of fear, choosing to endure suffering rather than deny what she believed in.

For 8 painful years, she has been held captive.

Denied education.
Denied freedom.
Separated from family.
Separated from the life she deserved to live.

How long will she remain there?
How long will her family continue to wait and hope?

Today, remembering Leah Sharibu—a symbol of faith, courage and resilience in the face of hardship.

Her release will bring healing, relief and renewed hope to her family.

JOS, Plateau State – The remains of Rev. Dr. David Jonah Laje, former Chairman of the Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) Bukuru District Church Council (DCC), have been buried following a funeral service at ECWA Goodnews Church, Dadin Kowa.

Delivering the sermon, Bukuru DCC Assistant Secretary Rev. Adamson Gado drew from Revelation 14:13, declaring that those who die in the Lord are blessed, “for they will rest from their labor.” He urged believers to live godly lives, noting there is “no second chance” when death comes.

The late clergyman was remembered as a devoted servant of God, family man, and pillar of the church.

Marriage is not built on expensive suits or elegant wedding gowns. It stands on the blessing of God. It grows through humility, love, and a shared commitment to oneness in Christ.

This truth was evident in the union of Bro. Aminchi Andrew and Sister Zipporah Jolly, who were joined together on 2nd May 2026 at 1st ECWA Church Madakiya, Zankwa DYC. Their wedding reflected simplicity, conviction, and spiritual maturity. Their decision strengthens the faith of the EYFI executives and inspires the entire fellowship.

To every young person trusting God for marriage, you have no excuse to delay obedience when God leads. Prepare your heart. Grow in Christ. Build character. Marriage honors those who honor God.

As a family, EYFI celebrates this union as a model for 2026. We see growth. We see maturity. We see Christ at the center.

We pray your home will stand firm, flourish in love, and exceed your expectations. May your union remain a testimony of grace and faithfulness.

Love is not proven by display, but by daily commitment to Christ and to each other.

Signed,
EYFI Executive
