The Second Coming is not just a future event to look forward to. It is a present force that should be reshaping the way you live every single day. If you truly believe Jesus is coming back in power and glory — that belief should produce a specific kind of person. A person of holy conduct, godliness, and urgent purpose.
𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗪𝗢𝗥𝗗 🔥
We have spent five days on the Second Coming of Jesus Christ — what it is, how He comes, the events that follow His arrival, and the glorious Millennium that follows. Today we close this theme with the most personal question it raises: what does all of this mean for how you live today?
2 Peter 3:11 asks one of the most piercing questions in all of the New Testament. Since all these things will be dissolved — since everything you see around you is temporary, since this world in its current form is passing away — what manner of persons ought you to be? That question is not theoretical. It demands a practical, daily answer. And today we give that answer in five clear ways.
1. 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗘𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗣𝗼𝗶𝗻𝘁
The Second Coming reframes everything. Your career, your finances, your relationships, your ambitions, your struggles — all of them look different when you hold them against the backdrop of a coming King. This does not mean you disengage from life. It means you engage with life differently — making decisions based not just on what is good for now, but on what will matter when He arrives.
Titus 2:12 says the grace of God teaches us to deny ungodliness and worldly lusts and to live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present age. And why? Because we are looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ (verse 13). The hope of His coming is the motivation for holy living. Not fear of punishment — but love for the returning King and the desire to be found ready when He comes.
2. 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗣𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗳𝘆 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳
1 John 3:2–3 says: we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure. The expectation of seeing Jesus produces a hunger for purity. Not a legalistic, performance-based attempt to earn God's favour — but a genuine, love-driven desire to be the kind of person He will be pleased to find when He arrives.
Ask yourself honestly — is your life getting cleaner or more cluttered? Is your walk with God deepening or drifting? Are you dealing with sin quickly and decisively, or are you allowing compromise to accumulate? The hope of the Second Coming is meant to create in you a holy restlessness — a deep unwillingness to remain in any condition that would cause you shame at His appearing.
3. 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗜𝘀 𝗘𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗮𝗹
If Jesus is coming back — and everything that is not of God will be dissolved — then the most intelligent thing you can do with your time, your energy, and your resources is to invest them in things that will survive His coming. Souls won to Jesus survive. Character built in God survives. Acts of genuine love and service survive. The Word of God survives. Matthew 6:20 says lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal.
This does not mean you should not plan for this life or care for your family. It means the eternal return on investment should factor into every major decision you make. The believer who lives in light of the Second Coming is the most strategically minded person on earth — because they are investing where the returns are permanent.
4. 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗟𝗼𝘀𝘁 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗨𝗿𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝘆
Every soul that does not belong to Jesus before His return will face the judgement described in Revelation 20:11–15 — the Great White Throne judgement, where all whose names are not found in the Book of Life are cast into the lake of fire. This is not a comfortable truth. But it is the truth. And it should produce in every believer an urgency for soul-winning that nothing else can generate.
2 Peter 3:12 says we are to be looking for and hastening the coming of our Lord. The Greek word for hastening carries the sense of earnestly desiring and actively working toward. You cannot change the timing of the Second Coming — but you can fill the time before it with as much fruitful labour for the Kingdom as possible. Every soul won, every life transformed, every person pointed toward Jesus is a participation in God's redemptive plan before the final curtain falls.
5. 𝗜𝘁 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻𝘀 𝗬𝗼𝘂 𝗟𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝗛𝗼𝗽𝗲 — 𝗡𝗼𝘁 𝗙𝗲𝗮𝗿
Perhaps the most important thing the Second Coming should produce in the life of a believer is hope. Not a vague, uncertain optimism — but a solid, sure, anchor-in-the-storm hope. Titus 2:13 calls it the blessed hope. It is blessed because it is guaranteed. Jesus said He would come back. He has never broken a promise. The same God who fulfilled every prophecy about the First Coming with perfect precision will fulfil every prophecy about the Second Coming with the same precision.
No matter what is happening in the world around you — the wars, the persecution, the moral collapse, the political chaos — you are not without hope. You know how the story ends. The King is coming. Every wrong will be made right. Every tear will be wiped away. Every faithful servant will be rewarded. Live in that hope. Let it be the song in your heart even on the darkest days.

Of the five practical responses to the Second Coming — living with eternity as your reference point, purifying yourself, investing in what is eternal, reaching the lost with urgency, and living in hope — which one is most alive in your life right now? Which one is most absent? What will you do about the absent one today?
𝗣𝗢𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗥
Peter asks: since all these things will be dissolved, what manner of persons ought you to be? Imagine standing before Jesus at His return. What would you wish you had done more of? What would you wish you had done less of? Let that honest reflection shape what you do today.

• The Second Coming means you live with eternity as your reference point — every decision filtered through the lens of His return.
• It means you purify yourself — the hope of seeing Jesus produces a genuine, love-driven desire to be found ready.
• It means you invest in what is eternal — souls, character, the Word, genuine love — things that survive His coming.
• It means you reach the lost with urgency — every soul matters, and the time before His return is the only window available.
• It means you live in hope — the blessed hope is guaranteed. The King is coming. Every wrong will be made right.

1. Take 10 minutes today to honestly evaluate your life against the five practical responses listed above. Write down which is strongest and which needs the most attention. Then pray specifically over the weakest area and take one concrete step to strengthen it today.
2. Write the names of five unsaved people you know and commit to reaching them before the year is over. Not hoping someone else reaches them — you. Ask God for a specific open door with each one and watch for it.
3. End today by declaring the blessed hope out loud. Stand up and say: Jesus is coming back. I will be ready. I will be faithful. I will reach others. The King is coming and I am on His side. Let that declaration carry you forward into the final theme of this month.

"Looking for the blessed hope and glorious appearing of our great God and Saviour Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us, that He might redeem us from every lawless deed and purify for Himself His own special people, zealous for good works." — Titus 2:13–14 (NKJV)
He gave Himself for you. He redeemed you. He is purifying you. And He is coming back for you. You are His own special people — and He is zealous for your good works, your faithfulness, your readiness. He is rooting for you. He is coming for you. Be ready.

As you move into the final theme of this month — Judgement Day — carry everything you have learned about the Second Coming as your foundation. The Second Coming initiates the Millennial Kingdom. At the end of the Millennium comes the Great White Throne judgement — the final accounting of all of human history before God. After five days of glory and hope in the Second Coming, the next five days will bring you face to face with the most solemn reality in all of eternity. Prepare your heart. God is a God of justice as well as mercy.

Lord Jesus, I thank You for the blessed hope. I thank You that Your return is not a threat to me but a promise — the most glorious promise ever made. Father, let this hope be alive and active in me every single day. Let it purify me, focus me, motivate me, and fill me with a joy that the world cannot give and cannot take away. I choose today to live as someone who is genuinely expecting You. I will invest in what is eternal. I will reach the lost with urgency. I will purify myself as You are pure. And I will hold onto the hope of Your return with everything I have. Come quickly, Lord Jesus. In the name of Jesus, Amen.

Five days of teaching on the Second Coming of Jesus Christ have led to this single, personal conclusion — everything changes when you belong to Him. The Second Coming is not a threat to those who know Jesus. It is their greatest hope. But for those who do not yet know Him, it remains the most sobering reality in the universe.
Today — before this theme closes, before the final theme begins — God is extending His hand to you one more time. Come to Jesus. Not to escape judgement only — but to know the One who is coming. He is not just the Judge. He is the Saviour. And He gave His life so that you could be on the right side of His return. Pray this prayer now:
"Lord Jesus, I come to You just as I am. I believe You died for my sins and rose again on the third day. I confess that I am a sinner and I need You. Forgive me of all my sins today. Come into my heart and be my Lord and Saviour. I receive You now by faith. From this day forward, I belong to You. In the name of Jesus, Amen."
If you just prayed that prayer sincerely, heaven is rejoicing over you right now. Your name has been written in the Lamb's Book of Life. We want to pray with you and walk with you in this new life. Please reach out to us:
