Today, a decade of distinguished service comes to a close. After ten years at the helm of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, Prof. Is-haq Olanrewaju Oloyede has handed over the office of Registrar and Chief Executive, bringing to an end a tenure that reshaped the face of a national institution.
Sir, you did not merely administer an examination body. You restored public faith in a system that many had learned to doubt.
When you assumed office in 2016, JAMB was too often associated with delay, malpractice and mistrust. You brought to it a scholar's discipline and a deep sense of Amanah. You made the computer-based test the national standard, shortened the distance between a candidate's effort and their result, and insisted that a student's score should be their own, earned fairly and honestly.
You showed that public office can remain public trust, and that integrity in leadership is not a lost ideal. Even in the difficult moments, you answered to the public with humility and accountability, a rare quality in our time.
Beyond the boardroom, you remained the teacher, the caller to Allah, and the moral compass. You reminded a watching nation that scholarship and governance can walk together, and that professionalism and Imaan are not opposites but companions.
Today we honour you not only for what you built, but for how you built it. With principle, with dignity, and with barakah.
