We discussed a lot on Sunday afternoon when I visited you at the UITH, Ilorin, you operated the Oxygen you were using by yourself and you off it when I came in so that you could talk to me, you told me you believe God will take control, you also told me of the impending strike by the UITH and I said all would be well, after few minutes discussion I told you to switch on the oxygen again because I didn't like the way you were struggling to breathe, I left you with a word of hope that you will soon be discharged from the Hospital.
I was devastated to hear that the UITH switched off the oxygen you were using because of their strike and asked you to be taken elsewhere, we did all we could to rescue you but it was too late. Our God is not a liar and you told me you believe the same, he, however, permitted your death and we can't query him.
We prayed, fasted and did vigils because of you, we didn't doubt God, we can't doubt him, and we won't doubt him. He had done it before, this gave me much assurance that you will come back for testimony. I remember I told you on Friday that you should be prepared for Thanksgiving, this was because I was so sure of the ability of my God to restore you, he, however, permitted your demise from us. Who am I to Question God?
You were a committed member and the Vice President of our Youth Fellowship, you worked with me as your brother, I always had confidence in whatever I delegated you to do as the President of the Fellowship. You always offered your advice to me as you have them.
You are always committed to things of God, as a Technical head, you left no stone unturned to ensure the good sound system for the Church, as a maintenance head, you made and fix things as required on time.
As an Ambassador, you did your best in leading the Adeyemo's chapter as their president, you also did well as a member of the OIBC Praise Team, you are always around the church to ensure smooth worship service in the Church, generator's fuel was never exhausted in the Church, neither did IBEDC card got Exhausted before recharging it.
Our personal relationship was like blood brothers, even though we were not age mate, I took you as a bosom friend and you did same to me, I did visit you frequently whenever I was in your vicinity, whenever you saw me you would say "ALAGA" Even though you didn't tell people about your wedding last year, you called me out from the Church on one Sunday and told me secretly, this confirmed the trust and confidence you had in me
when I had my baby a few months ago, I said we didn't invite people to the naming due to personal reasons and Covid-19, you insisted you would come despite your health that had started deteriorating, it took me about 5 minutes to convince you not to come, despite that you came with your wife the following day to congratulate us.
If I want to write an epistle about Olushola Benjamin Olagunju I will write up to 50 epistles, seeing you motionless, speechless, and powerless was the saddest thing that had happened to me in 2020. My consolation is your salvation in the Lord Jesus, and I believe we shall meet at the feet of the Most High God. Your death was painful to me, to the Orisun Ibukun Baptist Church Youth Fellowship, and the entire Church of God.
Till we meet again, on behalf of the entire Youth Fellowship of Orisun Ibukun Baptist Church, Ilorin, i say good night Olushola Benjamin Olagunju, we love you but Christ loves you more.
