KILLED HIM.
Mum, I killed him!. I screamed as I ran towards her for protection.
I killed him and he died. I continued
Please help me mum, I don't want to go to jail.
I really don't want to go to jail mum, I squirked.
Kill?
How did you kill him?
Why did you kill him?
What was his offence?
All these questions and more were asked by my troubled mother as she tried to understand the reason for my incriminating statements.
It wasn't intensional mum, it was a mistake.
Mum please understand, help me out, the police are already coming for me!
Calm down son, she managed to say in a whisper. Go inside now and shut yourself indoors!
I would sought it out with the Police, Trust me. She assured me confidently.
I ran inside and hid myself under the bed, the siren sound of the police vehicle was fast approaching.
Bang, bang bang!! Who is here!!
Who lives here, open the gate now! The police men commanded each one of them with a gun ready to breakdown the metallic bars of our gate if ignored.
Mum answered them and opened the gate. Immediately they launched towards our main entrance, mum confronted them with the questions:
"What are you doing here and who are you looking for?"
We are looking for a criminal, a young boy of about thirteen years, we traced him here and also trusted sources made it known to us that he resides here with his parents. A tall black man replied.
By the way are you his mother? One of the police men asked.
Of course I am! Mum replied unashamedly.
They shared a look amongst themselves and replied almost in unison: "Your son is a Criminal, he Killed his friend today!"
Yes, I know he did, he told me. Mum replied unmoved.
Shocked and confounded they shared a look amongst themselves again, this time signalling to each other.
"Then where is he?" They asked
He is in me! Mum replied in a jiffy.
What do you mean by the statement: "He is in me". The tall black man asked.
Well I gave birth to him and carried him on my back for almost a year, so if he commits any offence against the law, I can also be punished for it in his stead.
So you mean you are putting yourself in instead of your son? You want to die for a criminal? Aren't you ashamed of your wicked son? Is this how you brought him up by covering up his wicked deeds?
From all indications you are definitely not a good mother, The tall black man replied in anger.
Guys, arrest her instead since she has decided to turn herself in for her child's wicked offence.
I watched them arrest and bundle mum into the vehicle from the tilted curtain.
I sank to the ground and laid down there for a while.
Is this how you would settle it mum, by turning yourself in for me?
I battled hard to stop the hot tears from flowing down my cheeks.
I had committed many offence but this was the most incriminating one yet. I killed a friend of mine and mum turned herself in for me.
I couldn't help but weep uncontrollably at how foolish I had been as a son.
Mum was prosecuted and tried by the court of law. The judge sent her to death by hanging!
Haa Iya mi ooo. I screamed as I watched her smile with some tears evidently falling off her eyes at the pronouncement of the judge's verdict.
I rolled on the ground and slammed myself on the floor as I watched the police men take her away on TV.
Her death was televised on live TV to serve as a deterrent to wicked people like me.
I watched her grasp for breath as she was hunged on a tree with her last letter to me in my hands.
With my hands shaking and hot tears streaming down my eyes I read her letter;
Haa Mama mi o I collapsed to the ground, the words were too heavy for me to bear. She abandoned all and died for me! Ahhh

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life".
My Brothers and sisters, no matter how bad you view yourself to be. God died for you 🥺. He died so that you might live, he redeemed you with his own blood.
It would be a very wicked thing to disregard the price he paid for our salvation. Are you ready to accept him or to rededicate your life back to him, then kindly say this prayer:
" Lord Jesus I believe you came into the world to die for my sins and I also believe that you resurrected on the third day. Today I accept and acknowledge the price you paid for my sins by laying down your life for me.
Come into my life and fellowship with me now and forevermore:
Amen".
