RIGHT APPROACHES TO HANDLING THE TROUBLES/EVILS OF LIVES

Whenever troubles of lives come, it empties you and takes away every strength in you. Everything around you will seems to be working against you, those you expect to stand by you will be the first to go against you, and at this point you feel like giving up. No! It is not the end of life, there is always light at the end of the tunnel. In my last post I told you that wrong approaches to the troubles of lives will only yield more troubles. So what are the

RIGHT APPROACHES TO HANDLING THE TROUBLES OF LIVES?

1. Encourage yourself in the Lord:

1Sam 30:6-8 And David was greatly distressed; for the people spake of stoning him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and for his daughters: but David encouraged himself in the LORD his God. And David said to Abiathar the priest, Ahimelech's son, I pray thee, bring me hither the ephod. And Abiathar brought thither the ephod to David. And David enquired at the LORD, saying, Shall I pursue after this troop? shall I overtake them? And he answered him, Pursue: for thou shalt surely overtake them, and without fail recover all.

Every trouble usually comes along with its own discouragement. Discouragement is a great instrument in the hands of the devil; it extinguishes your courage, depresses your spirit man, kills every confidence in you, and makes you feel dejected. Discouragement will open the door to fear in your life, and fear will in turn open the door to death, no wonder many never get out of their troubles but their troubles sees their end.

To be courageous means to have confidence, not to be easily intimidated, ability to overcome one’s fear, to stand firm during adversity, frustration, or defeat. Courage is virtue that every child of God must possess if you must overcome troubles of lives because the world out there is full of a lot negativities and discouragements, so you must learn how to encourage yourself in the time of adversity.

Pro 24:10 If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

We need to be courageous as God’s children because we are the number one target of the enemies. You must put your confidence in the Lord no matter the circumstances surrounding your life, don’t be easily intimidated by the troubles of lives, learn to stand firm on the unfailing words of God, face your defeat and defeat your enemies.

WHEN TO ENCOURAGE YOURSELF IN THE LORD

1. When the troubles of lives is about to choke you up.
2. When everything turn against you.
3. When all you could do is to cry.
4. When all your friends turn against you.
5. When you feel you are alone.
6. When all you have laboured for as been taken over by the enemies.
7. When all your strength is gone.
8. When you know that the devil is in full control of your life.
9. When you are under satanic attack.
10. When nothing around you is encouraging.

HOW TO ENCOURAGE YOURSELF IN THE LORD

√ Seek the face of God in prayers.
√ Study the word of word.
√ Pray enquiry prayers to know the root cause of the problem and the way out.
√ Follow God’s instructions.
√ Don’t entertain fear.
√ Make positive confessions always.
√ Be strong in the Lord.
√ Surround yourself with positive people.
√ Help others while still in your adversity.
√ Put your confidence in God alone.

2. Stop complaining, face your troubles and deal hardly with the devil:

Gen 16:5 And Sarai said unto Abram, My wrong be upon thee: I have given my maid into thy bosom; and when she saw that she had conceived, I was despised in her eyes: the LORD judge between me and thee. But Abram said unto Sarai, Behold, thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. And when Sarai dealt hardly with her, she fled from her face.

Don’t behave like Sarai in the passage we read above, she was complaining about her slave Hagar that she bought with her own money, now oppressing her in her own house, but thank God Abram her husband told her thy maid is in thy hand; do to her as it pleaseth thee. The bible said and when Sarai dealt HARDLY with her, she fled away. You must learn this principle if you want to overcome the troubles of lives.

Troubles do not yield to complaining, but it rather separate you from God. As children of God, you must know your right in Christ; God has endowed you with everything you need to survive in life, whatever situations you are passing through, you have been equipped by God to overcome it, Jesus Christ paid the ultimate price on the cross of Calvary, and He said it is finish. Jesus Christ is done dealing with the devil, and as many as believed in Him, to them He has given the power to deal with the devil.

Luke 10:19 Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.

One of my father’s in the Lord told us the story of a woman who saw herself in the dream standing in front of the devil, and Jesus Christ was standing afar off, the devil took a whip and begin to flog her, then the woman cry out to Jesus for help, but Jesus was just looking at her without uttering any word or making any move to help her, but the more she cried out for help, the more the devil whipped her, when she could no longer bear the whipping, she suddenly gives the devil a very hot slap, GBAM! Then the devil took to his heel and run away, and the Lord Jesus Christ told her that is how to deal with the devil.

Mat 11:12 And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.

The devil is a stubborn pursuer, and until you deal with him hardly, he will not depart from you, he went to Jesus after fasting for 40 days and night to trouble him, but our Lord Jesus never gave him any opportunity to settle down; Jesus Christ gave it to him HOT, and he had no other choice than to run away. Don’t speak the language that the devil not understand and expect him to answer you, only the violent will take it by force.

3. Add fasting to your prayers:

Mat 6:18That thou appear not unto men to fast, but unto thy Father which is in secret: and thy Father, which seeth in secret, shall reward thee openly.

Certain troubles of life are very deep and complex, and as such you need to confront them with fasting and prayer before they can give way, fasting empowers your prayers; it takes it to the supernatural level, because it will subject the flesh; fires up the spirit man and put the spirit man in charge.

Mark 9:29And he said unto them, This kind can come forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.

Fasting releases power; after fasting for forty days and night, Jesus Christ return with great power and might, signs and wonders were wrought through him. When you add fasting to your prayers, your prayer is empowered and your testimonies become unstoppable for the devil.

Luke 4:14 And Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit into Galilee: and there went out a fame of him through all the region round about.

You need to know the level of your battle and then strategize the right approach to handle it.

The TRUTH is whenever you are faced with troubles of lives, it is your duty to call upon God, and it is the duty of God to deliver you.

HANDLING THE TROUBLES/EVILS OF LIVES PART 1

In my previous post “IS EVIL FROM GOD? We were able to established that God is not the author of evil but the devil, though He is aware of all our troubles, and no evil happens to His children without His permission. I also told you that God permit evil: to show forth His glory, to demonstrate His power, to promote our lives, to build us and make us stronger and better Christian. Now another important question is HOW DO WE HANDLE LIVES TROUBLES/EVILS?

Job 14:1 Man that is born of a woman is of few days, and full of trouble.

WRONG APPROACHES TO HANDLING THE TROUBLES/EVILS OF LIVES

1. Crying:

1Sam 30:3 So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives. Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

Crying does not move God, it only entertain the devil. Whenever you are faced with troubles in life, crying should not be an option to opt for, because it does not change anything; not God or the devil, it only kills faith and increases your fear, it weaken your strength and close your eyes to possible solutions around you.

Each time you cry when faced with trouble, you attract sympathizers to join you in entertaining the devil and his demons, and they will begin to dance to the melody of your crying.

2. Murmuring/complaining:

Exo 16:2-3 And the whole congregation of the children of Israel murmured against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness: And the children of Israel said unto them, Would to God we had died by the hand of the LORD in the land of Egypt, when we sat by the flesh pots, and when we did eat bread to the full; for ye have brought us forth into this wilderness, to kill this whole assembly with hunger.

Deut 1:34-35 The LORD heard your complaints and became angry, and so he solemnly declared, not one of you from this evil generation will enter the fertile land that I promised to give your ancestors. GNB

Murmuring/complaining is a sign of lack of faith in God, and disregards for God. Each time you murmur before God, you are telling Him that He is not able to deliver you from the troubles you are passing through, and this will make God to take off His hands from your case; He will leave you to handle your trouble yourself, and watch to see how far your strength can carry you. Murmuring/complaining will change nothing but it will rather separate you from God.

3. Claiming self-righteousness:

Job 13:22-26 Speak first, O God, and I will answer. Or let me speak, and you answer me. What are my sins? What wrongs have I done? What crimes am I charged with? Why do you avoid me? Why do you treat me like an enemy? Are you trying to frighten me? I'm nothing but a leaf; you are attacking a piece of dry straw. You bring bitter charges against me, even for what I did when I was young. GNB

Living a righteous life does not exempt you from the troubles of lives, in fact it makes you number one target on the list of the devil. Our Lord Jesus Christ, after fasting for 40day and night without food and water, was confronted first by the devil with great troubles, but Jesus did not go into details of how righteous and holy He is, He did not even tell the devil that He was the son of God, but He confronted the troubles and resist the devil, and they both flee from Him.

4. Regretting your life:

Job 3:1-5 After this opened Job his mouth, and cursed his day. And Job spake, and said, Let the day perish wherein I was born, and the night in which it was said, There is a man child conceived. Let that day be darkness; let not God regard it from above, neither let the light shine upon it. Let darkness and the shadow of death stain it; let a cloud dwell upon it; let the blackness of the day terrify it.

The time of trouble is not the time to start regretting about how life had treated you or the time to start apportioning blame on someone for the trouble you are passing through; it is a time to seek the face of God in prayers for solution. David and his men went out to battle, but by the time they came back, a lot of troubles had been waiting for them at home; all that they had laboured for in life was gone. David men regretted following David to the battle field, and they blamed him for all the predicaments that before them and their family, they even spoke of stoning him, but all these did not change their situation. Regret is never and can never be part of God’s methods of solving lives problem.

5. Folding your hands, closing your mouth and expecting God to do a miracle/magic:

Acts12:1-3 Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. And he killed James the brother of John with the sword. And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.)

Ps 50:15 And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.

Since the fall of man in the Garden of Eden, the principle as change; you need to ask before you get, you must knock before the door will be open unto you, you must seek for you to find. The bible stated it clearly that you should call upon God in the days of your trouble, and He will deliver you. When Herod arrested James, all the disciples fold their hands and closed their mouth, and Herod succeeded in killing him. Again Herod stretched forth his hands again to kill Peter the same way he killed James, but the disciples cried to God this time around, and the Lord deliver Peter out of the hands of Herod.

Whenever you are faced with troubles of lives, it is your duty to call upon God, and it is the duty of God to deliver you.

Wrong approaches to the troubles of lives will lead no where than more troubles.

The TRUTH is crying, murmuring, complaining, claiming self-righteousness, keeping silent in times of troubles and regret is not part of God’s methods of solving problem and can never be.

Remember only the TRUTH can set you FREE.

IS EVIL FROM GOD?

Evil is an unpleasant, undesirable, harmful, or wicked force or behaviour that impairs the happiness of a living being. It means to have harmful qualities; not good, worthless or deleterious.
Is evil from God? This is a big question that is troubling the heart of so many believers and unbelievers. If God is truly the creator of everything and He has power over everything, why is there so much evil in the world?

3John 1:11 Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.

FACTS FROM THE BIBLE

1. God is not the author of evil.

1Cor 14:33 For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints.

Jam 1:13-17 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. Do not err, my beloved brethren. Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

God does not use evil to prove his own children, even as we human being will not use evil to train our children; can you as a parent put the hands of your child into fire because you want the child to know that fire hurt? Can you allow your child to be r***d so that the child will know that ra**ng is not good? Capital NO.

On no account will God take His children through evil so that they can learn from it.

Jam 1:14-15 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

Every evil a man passes through can be traced to failure on the part of man or attack from the devil.

2. No evil happens without God’s permission.

Job 1:12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

Job 2:4-7 And Satan answered the LORD, and said, Skin for skin, yea, all that a man hath will he give for his life. But put forth thine hand now, and touch his bone and his flesh, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life. So went Satan forth from the presence of the LORD, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of his foot unto his crown.

Everything we go through in life either good or evil, God is aware of it, but He may not necessary be the author behind it. God is not under any obligation to stand by you in any assignment He did not send you; although He knows your thoughts, moves, actions and everything about you, but He will not interfere with your choices, because He has given unto you the power to choose, we decide whether to involve God or not. Majority of what we go through today, are as a results of the choices we made.
God is principled, He does not meddle with issues that does not concerns Him, but He his fully aware of everything we go through in life.

3. The devil is the author of evil.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
1Pet 5:8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

The devil does not have a single good thing for any man; whatever he offers you is in exchange for a bigger and more costly thing, he operate a primitive trade by barter; he gives you water and drain your blood, he offer you cap in exchange for your head, his sole agenda is to steal, kill, and destroy. Behind every evil, the devil can be traced to its source.

4. When God steps out of your life, the devil automatically takes over.

1Sam 28:6-7 And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets. Then said Saul unto his servants, Seek me a woman that hath a familiar spirit, that I may go to her, and enquire of her. And his servants said to him, Behold, there is a woman that hath a familiar spirit at Endor.

5. The devil cannot harm God’s children without His permission.

Job 1:8-12 And the LORD said unto Satan, Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth evil? Then Satan answered the LORD, and said, Doth Job fear God for nought? Hast not thou made an hedge about him, and about his house, and about all that he hath on every side? thou hast blessed the work of his hands, and his substance is increased in the land. But put forth thine hand now, and touch all that he hath, and he will curse thee to thy face. And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, all that he hath is in thy power; only upon himself put not forth thine hand. So Satan went forth from the presence of the LORD.

6. No man can do anything without God’s permission.

Num 22:38 Balaam answered, "I came, didn't I? But now, what power do I have? I can say only what God tells me to say." GNB

Num 22:38 Balaam said to Balak, "Well, I'm here now. But I can't tell you just anything. I can speak only words that God gives me--no others." MSG

7. God is with us in whatever situations we find ourselves.

Isa 43:2 When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow thee: when thou walkest through the fire, thou shalt not be burned; neither shall the flame kindle upon thee.

REASONS WHY GOD PERMIT EVIL
1. To show fort His glory.
2. To demonstrate His power.
3. To promote our live.
4. To build us and make us stronger and better Christian.

The devil is your one and only adversary, whenever you are face with any situations, seek the face of God in prayer, and steadfastly resist the devil.

The TRUTH of this matter is; God is not the author of evil, and He does not tempt His children with evil, but every evil can be traced to the devil.

IGNORANCE- The Battle you must Win

Hos 4:6 My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge: because thou hast rejected knowledge, I will also reject thee, that thou shalt be no priest to me: seeing thou hast forgotten the law of thy God, I will also forget thy children.

Isa 5:13 Therefore my people are gone into captivity, because they have no knowledge: and their honourable men are famished, and their multitude dried up with thirst.

To be ignorance means to be uninformed, uneducated, to lack information, to lack knowledge, to be blind or to be unaware. Ignorance of who you are will make your prince to live like a servant; it will make you suffer unnecessary hardship just like the prodigal son. Ignorance is the only enemy of God’s children; when you don’t know who God is, who you are and who the devil is, you will abuse yourself and suffer in the hand of the enemy, because it is only those who knows their God that will do exploits.

Pro 7:7 And beheld among the simple ones, I discerned among the youths, a young man void of understanding.

You must fight ignorance with all our strength as a youth, because ignorance brings destruction, bo***ge, famine, rejection, demotion and all forms of captivity. You must acquire knowledge in every areas of life; get information, be aware of the things in your surroundings physically, spiritually, academically, and professionally, you must not live in darkness, you must know everything you need to know about life. It is what you know that will make you known to the world. Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

The TRUTH is ignorance is the the greatest mountain of a man, and it is the father of personal destruction.

Remember only the TRUTH can set you FREE.

CORPORATE PRAYER

Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Matt 18:19-20

Corporate prayer is an agreement prayer between two or more people to achieve the same goal. Although there are different kinds of prayer in the bible, but corporate prayer is very powerful and effective; producing great and quick result.

Acts12:1-2
Now about that time Herod the king stretched forth his hands to vex certain of the church. And he killed James the brother of John with the sword.

Herod arrested James the brother of John and nothing was done; everyone was silent, expecting God to do a miracle and deliver James, but nothing happened and Herod succeeded in killing James.

NOTE: God will do nothing unless men do something. This is the mystery of prayer.

Acts 12:3-11
And because he saw it pleased the Jews, he proceeded further to take Peter also. (Then were the days of unleavened bread.) And when he had apprehended him, he put him in prison, and delivered him to four quaternions of soldiers to keep him; intending after Easter to bring him forth to the people. Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on through one street; and forthwith the angel departed from him. And when Peter was come to himself, he said, Now I know of a surety, that the Lord hath sent his angel, and hath delivered me out of the hand of Herod, and from all the expectation of the people of the Jews.

Again Herod went further to arrest peter and plan to kill him, but this time around the church arose and stood in gap for him: prayer was said without ceasing for him, and the Lord arose and delivered Peter from Herod and the Jews. Our prayers will go a long way to undo the work of darkness and stop the mouth of satanic lions.

BENEFITS OF CORPORATE PRAYERS

1. It is approved by God.

Matt 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven

2. God is always present.

Matt 18:20 For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

3. It is more better and rewarding than personal prayer.

Eccl 4:9 Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour.

4. It brings restoration and prevent destruction.

Eccl 4:10 For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

5. It brings revival and generate spiritual power.

Eccl 4:11 If two lie together, then they have heat: but how can one be warm alone?

6. It brings protection and victory.

Eccl 4:12 And if one prevail against him, two shall withstand him; and a threefold cord is not quickly broken.

7. It brings assurance.

1 John 5:14-15 And this is the confidence that WE have in him, that, if WE ask any thing according to his will, he heareth US: And if WE know that he hear US, whatsoever WE ask, WE know that WE have the petitions that WE desired of him.

8. It brings greater destruction to the enemy.

Lev 26:8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
Deut 32:30 How should one chase a thousand, and two put ten thousand to flight, except their Rock had sold them, and the LORD had shut them up?

Proverbs 27 : 17 - Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.

From today let us join our hands together in prayers with our spouse, families, friends, neighbors, pastors, churches, and nations, and we will see the manifestation of the power moving in every areas of our lives.

The TRUTH is whenever WE come TOGETHER to PRAY; hell trembles, darkness varnish, the Devil is put in disarray and the children of God rise and shine.

Remember only the TRUTH can set you FREE.
