GRATITUDE
Praise be to Allah
For the sun that rises in glorious morn,
The moon that lights up the nightly skies,
The stars that twinkle far above,
And the tides that rise and fall in turns;

For the growth that marks the spring's rebirth,
The fall that makes the autumn's quest,
The warmth that comes with summer breeze,
And the snow that paints winter white;

For the waters that gush in endless flow,
The oasis that lies in desert's heart,
The drops that fall in measured tons,
And the pool that lies far beneath;

For the tweets of birds as daily rhymes,
The wilds that hosts the jungle beasts,
The fishes that live in 'waterdom;'
And the order that unites these variant spheres.

PROMISCOUS

"To you be your religion and to me my religion."
No attacks or trade of displeasantries,
No friction in communal gatherings,

For that is religious tolerance.
But to join you in celebrating is religious promiscuosness
And I have chosen not to be a fornicatoress.
Please respect my decision,
For that will be religious tolerance on your part.
No, I don't hate you.

No carols hummed in my house,
No green and red ribbons,
No Santa Claus fair,
No rice and chicken specifically for 25th,
No, no Christmas tree
Because I am a Muslim.

My promiscuous brother will wish you "merry xmas".
Please forgive him for his ignorance.
I am also aware that he will ask you for rice and coke,
