Topic: Gratitude
Text: Psalm 89:1
Today we are grateful for the mercies of the Lord.

In our text, David sang of the mercies of God.
Lamentations 3:22-23 tells us that it is of the mercies of the Lord we have not been consumed.

The mercies of the Lord make the difference in our lives. (Psalm 18:35)
The Lord chooses whom to show mercy.
(Romans 9:14-16)
It is the mercies of God that will help us till the end.
In Psalm 73:24-26, David declared that he has no one else to help him but God!

Prophetic prayer: I pray for you, that the crisis that will make you say you do not know God, will never come your way in Jesus name.
Psalm 58:16, David tells us that he will sing of the mercies of the Lord, because God has so been merciful to him.

Mercy brings salvation.
It is by the mercies of the Lord that we are saved.
Because God has been merciful to us, we must honor him.
We are assured of a great destiny, because the One who controls our destiny is our merciful God.

1 Sam 2:30 shows us that is the Lord who controls our destines, so we must honor Him.
Prov 3:9 teaches us to honor the Lord with our substance.
When we give unto God, it is by His mercies that He accepts our giving.

When you give to God, do not do so with pride or disregard.
Give with reverence and honor.
God can choose whether to accept your offering or not. He is not a beggar.

If you haven't given your life to Christ, come to the Lord now.
He will shower you with mercies and give you salvation.

Prayer Point:
Open your mouth and just thank the Lord!

Topic: The Great Builder
Text: Psalm 127: 1

God is the Great Builder.
No matter what any man builds, it is only God who can build everlasting structures.

What does God build?
1. Houses
Exodus 1:19-21
2. Marriages Genesis 2:18-25
God saw that it wasn't good for man to be alone so he created Eve to be his companion.
He built the institution of marriage.

3. Families
After the creating the institution of marriage, God went on to make them fruitful and blessed them with children, so that the family can be formed.
4. Businesses
God knew that for the family to survive, they must work. So he blessed the works of man's hands.

5. Churches Matthew 16:18
God said he will build the church and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.
6. People . Genesis 2: 1-7
When God made other creations he just spoke. But when it came to man, he practically built man into form by himself.

In John 9: 1-7, we see how God made a demonstration of how man was formed in the healing of the blind man.
It doesn't matter what you are going through, if you can come to the God of all flesh, he can fix you because he built you.

7. Destinies Jer 1:4-5
God builds destinies. Before he even formed us, he had built our future and destiny.
Therefore God is completely in control of your
tomorrow, because he built it.
God is the great and master builder, and he is also the architect.

Heb 11:10 shows the characteristics of God as
the 'builder and maker' of the city.
God also has the power to alter destinies.
In 1 Sam 2:30 we saw that in the family of Eli, because he had greatly dishonored him.
God has a great future for you, but you must honour him.

Ask yourself these questions:
Are you honoring the Lord
Are you willing to keep honoring Him?
Commit your life to the Great Builder today.
No matter how terrible your life may be, he can turn it around for good.
He can make all things new for you.

TITLE: UNDERSTANDING THE LOVE OF GOD
MAIN TEXTS: Rev. 2:1-5, 1 Jn. 4:19
Introduction
According to the scriptures, every believer begins their journey in salvation from the foundation of the love
of God for humanity. There is no salvation without the basis of God’s love for all men. Neither do we have
the capacity to love God, were it not for the reality of God’s love for us. In Jn. 3:16, Jesus makes the
emphatic statement, eternal life is founded upon the Love of God for us. 1 Jn. 4:19 also gives credence, as
John writes that we love God because he first loved us. This means our love for God can be seen as simply
our response to the actions of love that God demonstrated towards us.
Therefore, it is sacrosanct that for a believer to respond appropriately to the love of God, he/she must
understand the Love of God.
The Nature Of God’s Love
1. 2. The very fabric of God’s nature and character is Love. 1 Jn. 4:8
God’s Love towards mankind is everlasting. Jer 31:3, John 3:16. God will never give up on loving
humanity. Because He created us in His own image and for His own pleasure. Rev. 4:8. This is why
he continually extends his mercy and salvation to everyone and anyone who will receive His love.
Psa.118:1-3, Psa. 136:1-3
3. God’s love is His great strategy for winning/persuading humanity to His salvation. Jer 31:3, Romans
5:8, 1 John 4:10. We could not love God by ourselves in our sin, so God first demonstrated His love
towards us to win our hearts to Himself in salvation.
4. God’s love is sacrificial – He demonstrated His love in the sacrifice (death) of Jesus for the sins of
mankind. Jn. 3:16-18, 1 Jn. 4:9-10, Jn. 15:13, Rom. 5:8. Love is an action word; love is shown in
actions. Jesus took the greatest step that anyone could ever take in Love; He gave Himself for us.
5. God’s love offers assurance. It is assuring. 1 Jn. 4:17-18, Rom. 8:31-39. We can be assured that if
God can deliver up Jesus in death, because He loves us, we know that He will give us all other things
He promised us in His word, as it relates to our salvation and welfare, when we receive His love.
6. The full benefits of God’s love will only be experienced by anyone when they receive salvation
through faith in Christ. If you have received the gospel, then all the full benefit of the Love of God
towards humanity can be yours to enjoy. Rom. 8:37, Psa. 103:17
Responding To The Love Of God
God has already spoken and demonstrated how much He has loved us. In His love, He has made provision
for our redemption from destruction, our rescue from hell, our deliverance from sin. The onus is on mankind
to respond to His love by receiving and growing in His love for us. We also must obey His instructions
from the word as proof that we have responded to His love by loving Him in return. We respond in the
following ways;
1. BELIEVE IN HIS LOVE – Jn. 3:16. The first step to responding to God’s love is by putting our
faith in Christ, and receiving eternal life, His salvation. Every one of us who has believed in the
gospel is saved, and thus has responded to his love. Rom. 5:1-5

2. 3. 4. 5. Vision 2032
KNOW AND UNDERSTAND HIS LOVE – Eph. 3:17-19, 2 Tim. 1:7. Paul prayed for the church
to know the love of God, so that they can receive the fullness of God. Many benefits come with the
salvation that we have received by grace, through the love of God. Knowing and understanding the
Love of God through the pages of the scriptures helps us, not only to know what is available for us,
but also to have the boldness to lay hold on it, being confident in the love of God for us. 1 Jn. 4:17-
18.
PRAISE AND THANK HIM FOR HIS LOVE – Psa. 103:1-5, Psa. 136:1-4, Eph. 5:18-20. As
our eyes open to the depth of His, we are instructed by the word of God to continually praise and
thank Him for his love – all He has given us through His love – our salvation, our deliverance from
evil, provision, protection, etc. Gratitude is our response to His love.
IMITATE AND WALK IN HIS LOVE – 1 Jn. 3:16-18, 1 Jn. 4:11, Jn. 13:34. As we behold the
sacrificial love of God in Christ, the bible teaches us to imitate Jesus in His love, by living a life of
sacrifice as well. In giving, in commitment to the course of Jesus and to other believers, even if it
means we will sacrifice our comfort, by forgiving others as he forgave us Eph. 4:31-32, etc., if we
love him, we will obey Him.
TELL OTHERS OF HIS LOVE – this is the great commission. Mk. 16:15-17, Matt. 28:18-20, Jn.
15:12-16. It is not enough to believe in His LOVE and be saved; it is equally important that we obey
His commandment to tell others about His love. Knowing that great danger lies ahead of anyone
who rejects His love, we must burn with the zeal for the salvation of others. 2 Cor. 5:11
Conclusion
We love Him because He first loved us. We know that God has drawn us to Himself by love. Our response
is to love Him in return by obeying his word, to live like Him, and to tell others about Him.

Topic: From Waiting to Winning
Text: Genesis 21:1-7
In Ecclesiastes 7:8, the Bible says better is the end of a thing than the beginning thereof.
In the name of Jesus, your end shall be great!
When God sent you to the earth, He sent you for a purpose, and one way or another your purpose is connected to that of others.
Nothing is accidental with God.
He has planned and purposed everything for your good.
It is important to trust and wait on God.
: Whatever it is you're waiting for, God will bring it at the appropriate time.
If you try to do things your way, you will get the wrong thing. Be patient and trust God.
Zachariah and his wife had to wait for years for a child, because John had to be born 6 months before Jesus, to fulfill prophecy.
Why should we wait on God?
1. He is sovereign, he can't be questioned.
2. Occasionally God delays to show you that He who laughs last, laughs best.
The story of Abraham shows, that after 25 years after the prophecy, God indeed established him as father of nations!
&: In the name above every other name, your own won't be too hard for God to do.

ar: In the name above every other name, your own won't be too hard for God to do.
%: Because you're in church today, I decree "No more delay"
Psalm 102:12 tells us that God has a set time.
In Daniel 2: 20-21 we learn that God has the ability to change times and seasons.
Again in John 2:1-12, we see how 'my time has not yet come, tuned to 'Now'.
%: In the name above every other name, before you go to bed tonight, your time will come!
You need to get to the point where you trust God wholeheartedly without having any other plan B.
*: In the name above every other name, I decree your waiting is over!
Hold on to God in prayer, and ask for the blessings of the children of God.
God has already prepared the bread for his children, receive your inheritance in prayers.
Your time of favour is now!
To access all God has prepared for you, you need to serve him wholeheartedly.
That is why if you haven't given your life to Christ, you need to come to him now!
Jesus is calling you today!
Prayer Point
Father, this particular miracle that I've been waiting for, please give it to me today.
