If you were given a shield of light, how long would you last? Some say it lasts hours, some even days. The truth is, our arms hold a shield that eventually succumbs, even though it weighs almost nothing. Next, mentally imagine how you are holding the shield. How long can you think about holding a shield before your mind shifts to something else? When the world is noisy, we can let down our guard and allow the enemy to invade. “Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do comes from the heart.” (Proverbs 4:23) Our heart represents the core of our being, and our thoughts, All actions, emotions, and desires come from the heart. “Guarding the heart” means being vigilant and aware of the effects we allow. We are called to guard our hearts from sinful thoughts, immoral desires, and harmful influences. This ensures that our thoughts and actions are aligned with God's will and that our lives reflect God's character. If you want to know if those around you need protection, remember, "As water reflects the face, so a man's life reflects his heart" (Proverbs 27:19). You can tell what's in a person's heart by the fruits they produce. As a community of believers, we can protect each other's hearts by coming together and having a Christlike influence. “The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous will run to it and be safe” (Proverbs 18:10). When we abide in God's presence, trust Him, and live righteously, He becomes our refuge, our stronghold, and our protector. By seeking God, we can place ourselves under His loving care and find safety in His arms. As you pray this week, remember that the Lord is our protector, our safe haven, and our refuge. Fill your heart with goodness and give no room to the enemy (Philippians 4:8). Pray not only for your own protection, but also for your family, friends, classmates, co-workers,
