A powerful time led by our father in God’s Word as we were reminded of who we are in Christ and the importance of walking by the Spirit.

Topic: Living by the spirit
Text: Ephesians 3:20

One of the greatest struggles in the Christian life is not knowing what God can do, but forgetting who we are because of Christ.

When you do not know your identity, you can easily live beneath what God has made you to be.

The enemy wants you to see yourself through your past, your failures, your weaknesses, your circumstances, and the opinions of people. But God wants you to see yourself through Christ.

You are not defined by where you came from.
You are not defined by your mistakes.
You are not defined by your failures.
You are not defined by what people say about you.

If you are in Christ, your identity has changed.
2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV says:
“Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

That is where living by the Spirit begins: knowing who you are in Christ and allowing the Holy Spirit to help you live from that identity.

9 And he said unto them, Verily I say unto you, That there be some of them that stand here, which shall not taste of death, till they have seen the kingdom of God come with power.

2 And after six days Jesus taketh with him Peter, and James, and John, and leadeth them up into an high mountain apart by themselves: and he was transfigured before them.

3 And his raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them.

4 And there appeared unto them Elias with Moses: and they were talking with Jesus.
