Are you wanting to improve your grades, increase your GPA, and just feel altogether more prepared in college? If so, then you need to start doing these five daily grade-boosting habits. These are simple techniques that you can do every day that can really help you to improve your grades and your life.

1. Read class notes before bed

The first way you can increase your grades is by reading your class notes every night before you fall asleep. Studies have shown that the brain takes the most recent memories of the day and stores them in long term memory. This means that you will have a better chance of recalling your notes if you study them a little before bed each night. If reading all of your notes before bed is too big of a task, just try going over the last lecture notes in each class every night.

2. Study in advance

I am a firm believer in the power of studying in advance. This is one thing that always helps me to do better on my exams. Whether it’s the hardest test of the year, finals, or whatever, this technique never fails. My favorite thing about studying in advance is that it helps me to become familiar with the notes so that I can avoid late night cramming when the test comes. This girl is not a night person! Studying in advance also really helps to eliminate stress.

3. Be productive when studying

When you start studying, you need to make sure that you are actually being productive with your time. Make sure that you are paying attention to what you are reading. Try to keep your phone out of sight and out of mind. Turning your phone on moon mode will really help with this. Remember that everyone’s brain works differently, so, be sure that you are using study techniques and tools that help you. Don’t just study one way because that’s how everyone else does it. Study in whatever way works best for you.

4. Wake up early and make a plan

I know this one is a little painful for those of you who are not morning people, but try waking up fifteen minutes earlier to go through your plan for the day. You can make a list of things you need to do, look over notes, check your emails, etc. Waking up early and making a plan will help you feel more prepared for the day ahead which will then lead to more effective classes, studying, and better test grades.

5. Recite notes out loud

Studies show that reciting your notes out loud helps you to retain more information. Who am I to argue with science right? So next time you study, try reciting your notes out loud. If it appears to help you, then keep it up for future studying!

I hope you these daily grade-boosting habits help you through your classes.

You're The Father's Priority .

Tuesday, March 22nd .
Pastor Chris

Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you (1 Peter 5:7).

As Christians, our connection to our heavenly Father is absolute; it's not something that changes. We're connected to Him by spiritual birth. So, whatever is important to you is important to Him. He cares about you affectionately; you're the Father's priority.

Think about this: an earthly parent can go to any length to ensure his children have a good life. He ensures his children are protected, and that their feeding, shelter, clothing, are all well taken care of. Some even go as far as taking care of their children's friends. They just love and care for another child, simply because that other child is friends with their own child. Now, if earthly parents can care that much for their children, what do you think of your heavenly Father?

God loves you more than you love yourself. He loves you as much as He loves Jesus. He's more ambitious about your success than you are for yourself. This should make you rejoice, and take worry away from your life permanently. God knows how much you want to be happy; He knows every good thing you want for yourself, and He has granted you all things that pertain to life and godliness in Christ Jesus.

He said, "My son, give me your heart and let your eyes keep to my ways" (Proverbs 23:26 NIV). Trust Him and serve Him with your life. He knows what to do with you. He knows everything you desire better than you do. Therefore, give Him your cares, and refuse to be saddled again with those cares.

"Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb? yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee" (Isaiah 49:15). This is God talking to you. When everything seems to be going contrary to what the Word says concerning you, God says, "I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go..." (Genesis 28:15 NIV). His Word concerning you won't fall to the ground.

PRAYER

Dear heavenly Father, I'm so grateful for your unconditional and everlasting love. How comforting to know that I'm always on your mind! Thank you for making me a peculiar treasure unto you; I'm your pearl of inestimable value. For these and more, I worship you, and will forever be grateful, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

A SPIRITUAL CONNECTION

Pastor Chris

I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting (1 Timothy 2:8).

Some people don’t understand the reason we lift our hands in prayer and worship. It’s one of those things we’re admonished in the Scriptures to do, and it’s so important. Paul said, “I will therefore that men pray every where, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.” This has nothing to do with how you feel; it’s a spiritual instruction, with immense spiritual benefits.

When you lift your hands to the Lord, you may have observed that sometimes, they seem to tremble somehow. They weren’t shaking that way before you started praying and lifted them to the Lord. But the moment you raised them, the anointing came on them, and they started shaking; it’s a signal of the touch of the Spirit at that moment. And if you recognize it and accept what the Spirit of God is doing, and how He’s getting your attention, a lot more could happen.

But not many understand these things. They have to be taught. Spiritual things can be taught, just as natural things of life can be taught. And once you learn them and respond accordingly, you’ll be amazed at how your life just keeps moving forward and upward.

There’s something deeply spiritual and pleasing to the Lord about lifting your hands to Him in worship and prayer. Though your hands are physical, there’s a connection between them and your spirit, when you lift them up to the Lord. It’s a spiritual connection between the outward nature and the inward man. It’s not a mere routine. You’re using them to guide yourself and your spirit towards God.

In Psalm 141:2, David said, “Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.” The lifting up of your hands to the Lord is far more pleasing to Him than offering physical sacrifices. If the Lord delights so much in seeing you lift your holy hands to Him, then it means it’s something you should take very seriously. You ought to do it because the Word says so! It’s a training you must imbibe, for it’s a spiritual act of reverence.

CONFESSION

Blessed Lord, I lift my hands to you in holiness, in praise and adoration, declaring that you alone are God; your glory fills the earth! Thank you for your beauty, and righteousness revealed in me;
my heart is filled with praise, and my hands lifted high, in honour of your majesty, and greatness.

He Leads Us In Love .

Friday, March 18th .

Pastor Chris

By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another (John 13:35).

Walking in love is a primary way to tell that a Christian is being led by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit only leads us in love. He'll never lead you in such a way as to hate anyone, be proud, arrogant or express unrestrained anger.

In walking with the Lord, one of the things He seeks to accomplish in your life is to have His love fully expressed through you, such that you're patient, meek, kind and not easily provoked. James 1:19 (GNB) says, "...Everyone must be quick to listen, but slow to speak and slow to become angry."

People with uncontrolled temper do foolish things, which is why the Bible says, "Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools" (Ecclesiastes 7:9). Decide that there'll never be anybody anywhere that you'll begrudge, dislike, or be bitter against. It doesn't matter the extent of hatred you experience from others, you're only permitted to love them. That's the life of a true Christian.

Always, the Holy Spirit inspires us to love, because you never lose when you walk in love. Your actions and inactions, must pass the love-test. The Bible tells us that it's better for you to suffer the pain; you should rather put up with injustice and be cheated than avenge the evil done to you (1 Corinthians 6:7). Consider Jesus: as they nailed Him to the cross and cursed Him, He looked up to heaven and said, "...Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do..." (Luke 23:34). That's love!

Let love be your guide. Walk in love, as Christ also has loved you, and given Himself for you as an offering and a sacrifice to God (Ephesians 5:2). Yield yourself to the Holy Spirit, to lead you in love. Romans 8:14 says, "For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God." It should be your utmost desire to experience the guidance and leading of the Holy Spirit at all times; it'll make your life excellent and full of glory. And walking in love makes this easy. Blessed be God!

CONFESSION

I'm born to love; therefore, I express the love and compassion of Christ through my words and actions. Thank you, righteous Father, for the rich deposit of your love in my heart. Everyone I come in contact with will experience your unconditional love through me, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

|| 1 Corinthians 13:1-3 AMP If I [can] speak in the tongues of men and [even] of angels, but have not love (that reasoning, intentional, spiritual devotion such as is inspired by God’s love for and in us), I am only a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal. 2 And if I have prophetic powers (the gift of interpreting the divine will and purpose), and understand all the secret truths and mysteries and possess all knowledge, and if I have [sufficient] faith so that I can remove mountains, but have not love (God’s love in me) I am nothing (a useless nobody). 3 Even if I dole out all that I have [to the poor in providing] food, and if I surrender my body to be burned or in order that I may glory, but have not love (God’s love in me), I gain nothing. ||

Judge It By The Word .

Thursday, March 17th .
Pastor Chris

Let the prophets speak two or three, and let the other judge (1 Corinthians 14:29).

Sometimes, people receive what they claim to be visions or revelations from the Lord without subjecting such to God's Word. They don't take the time to check that such visions and revelations are consistent with the written Word.

For example, a certain man had a vision. He had been a Christian for many years, but he became sick. While on his sick bed, he had a vision where someone, wearing sandals and a white robe, and covered with a cloud, walked into the room. He started looking from the person's feet upwards to see who it was. As he looked to see his face; the man spoke up and said, "It's not my will to heal you," and disappeared.

Although he couldn't see the face of the one who appeared to him, he believed it was Jesus, because he said he felt the presence of God in the room. Hence, he accepted that it wasn't the will of God to heal him, and began telling other brethren how it wasn't God's will for him to be healed. But that couldn't be Jesus, or why would anybody think it was Jesus who appeared to the man?

Is it because the person described was in a "white robe," covered with "white cloud?" Or is it because, as the man said, he "felt" the presence of God in the room? None of these is enough for anyone to assume it was Jesus. You have to understand the interpretation of revelations. If you saw a vision of someone that looked like Jesus, and the person told you something that's inconsistent with the Scripture, then it's questionable; you have every right to reject it.

This is something many people are ignorant of. The will of God is clearly expressed in the Scriptures: God wants you well! In 3 John 1:2, He said, "Beloved, I wish above all things that thou mayest proper and be in health, even as thy soul prospereth." He'll never contradict His Word. So, if the voice you're hearing contradicts the Word of God, that's a demon talking to you, irrespective of the appearance. Moreover, we're warned in scriptures not to be deceived, because even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14).

Every revelation must be subjected to the Word of God! Don't accept it just because you saw a vision or because you got it from someone whom you think is spiritual; judge it by the Word. A revelation may not necessarily be perfect and accurate, but every revelation must be consistent with the revealed Word of God. This is another reason you must know the Word of God.

PRAYER

Dear Lord, thank you for granting me wisdom and insight into your perfect will in all things. The eyes of my understanding have been enlightened to know the hope of your calling, and the riches of the glory of your inheritance in the saints. I express the virtues and excellence of your Spirit today, as your Word finds a vent through me, in Jesus' Name. Amen.

Further Study: || 1 John 4:1 Beloved, believe not every spirit, but try the spirits whether they are of God: because many false prophets are gone out into the world. ||

|| 1 Corinthians 13:9-10 For we know in part, and we prophesy in part. 10 But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away. ||
