THE BANQUET TABLE
Song of Solomon 2:4 He brought me to the banqueting house, and his banner over me was love.
It has been the experience of everyone that the past several months have been very tough. Affecting all areas of life both in Nigeria and the rest of the world.
The cost of food items have reached an all time high, very many have abandoned their private vehicles opting for public vehicles due to high cost of fuel. Bandits, kidnappers, and ritual killings have increased dramatically,we know of the devastating wars in Europe, Middle East and in Africa (Sudan,Mali etc). Typhoons flash floods, burying cities and killing hundreds in their wake.
The body of Christ (the church) has also been under a very severe and merciless attack with false doctrines being preached without let. 'Fellowship Prophetic groups' are springing up in every nook and corner drawing numerous disciples hungry for prophecies. 'For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;'2Tim. 4:3.
This has been like walking through the darkest period of one's faith, through the valley and shadow of death trusting in the Lord to protect and comfort us with His rod and staff fearing no evil.(Psalm 23:4). The saints of God are faithful, believing in God's sovereignty and power will refuse to be shaken.
Psalms 37:28 For the LORD loveth judgment, and forsaketh not his saints; they are preserved for ever: but the seed of the wicked shall be cut off.
When one emerges from the tunnel of darkness with your faith intact, there is a banquet table prepared to receive you. ' I shall prepare a table (spread out meal) before you in the presence of your enemies and anointed with oil'.(Ps.23:5&6).
There is always a banquet table prepared to celebrate you when you come through a severe trusting in God.
1 Peter 5:10 But the God of all grace, who hath called us unto his eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after that ye have suffered a while, make you perfect, stablish, strengthen, settle you.
