IBEKWE 1 AREA ANNUAL SUNDAY SCHOOL RALLY

WELCOME ADDRESS FROM THE AREA SUPERITENDENT'S DESK

It is with great joy and gratitude to Almighty God that I welcome you all to the year’s Ibekwe 1 Area Annual Sunday School Rally. This special gathering provides an opportunity for our children, parents, guardians, Sunday school teachers and the entire church to celebrate God’s faithfulness and renew our commitment to raising a generation that loves, fears and obeys God.

Our theme “Living in Obedience” is drawn from the words of Jesus in John 14:15: “If ye love me, keep my commandments. “True love for God is demonstrated through obedience to His word. Psalm 119:9 asks, “Wherewithal shall a young man cleanse his way?” and answers, “by taking heed thereto according to the word.”
Children are therefore called to make God’s word the foundation of their voices. They must obey and honor their parents (Ephesians 6:1-3), respect elders and authorities, speak the truth, chose godly friends, maintain purity and good conduct, be diligent in their studies and responsibilities and develop a consistent life of prayer and Bible study. True obedience is not merely behaving well when parents or teachers are watching; it is choosing to please God at all times. God richly rewards obedience. Scripture associate's obedience with long life and well-being (Ephesians 6:1-3), divine favor and blessings (Deuteronomy 28: 1-2), wisdom and direction (Proverbs 3:5-60, and fruitfulness and prosperity (Joshua 1:8.
Though obedience may sometimes require sacrifice, its blessings far outweigh the temporary pleasures of disobedience.

Dear parents, guardians and teachers, we also have a sacred responsibility to teach, pray for, lovingly correct and model godly obedience before our children.

May this Rally raise children who love God, obey His word, honor their parents, resist evil, and shine as example of Christ at home, in school, in Church and everywhere they go.

Once again, I warmly welcome you all. May this Rally be spiritually enriching and fruitful in Jesus' name, Amen.

A Glorious Display of Unity and Leadership

A particularly memorable moment was the gracious participation of our Fathers in the Lord, who honored the occasion by joining in a special match past. Led by the Area Superintendent, the procession was a beautiful and dignified display of unity, order, humility, and exemplary leadership.

Their participation added a unique dimension to the rally and served as a powerful reminder that effective Christian leadership is not merely expressed through words, but also through active participation, solidarity, and service. As they marched together, they demonstrated that the work of God transcends age, status, and position, requiring every generation to labor together in harmony for the advancement of the Kingdom.

A major highlight of the programme was the colourful match-past, during which the four districts proudly and orderly represented themselves. The participating districts were Ibekwe 1 District, Hospital District, Ikpetim District, and Utaewa District. Each district marched with great enthusiasm, confidence, and a strong sense of identity, adding splendour and excitement to the occasion.

The match-past was not merely a display of coordination and appearance; it was a profound expression of unity in diversity, commitment to Christian fellowship, and collective dedication to the advancement of Sunday School ministry. As each district marched past with admirable discipline and composure, the atmosphere was filled with joy, excitement, and a renewed sense of belonging.
