*Sometimes You Need CHARACTER, Not Prayer.*

No matter how we pray, attitude has its place.
This the strong truth a lot of Christians fail to
understand.
Prayer is good, but prayer isn't the answer to
everything.

Somewhere in the scriptures, *the Bible says*
*that before we pray, he will answer..*
You know why?
*Because we've* *exhibited attitudes that will*
*attract miracles..*

People, sometimes pray for miracles to happen,
what you need is *character,* not prayer, not
speaking in tongues.

God is a *spirit,* and for him to bless you, *He*
*needs to pass* *through a man.*

*If you lack good relationships with* *men, you'll*
*hardly be blessed.*
God works with relationship.

You must learn to treat people with *courtesy..*

The *Shunammite woman* must have been
praying for a child all through her life.
I'm sure.
She was a *prominent woman* and surely she
had money but couldn't buy a child.

*You know what made her have a child?*
She took care of Elisha, a man of God.
She respected him,
she was hospitable,
she was
kind,
she had *character!*

Elisha, spoke into her womb and in a year, she
had a child.

Assuming she *wasn't hospitable?*
*Polite, and kind?*
She would've still been praying and fasting,
binding and casting demons that⁵ don't exist.

Sometimes, we are our demons. *Our attitudes*
*are our destiny killers.*

Some of you have *insulted people that were*
*divinely orchestrated to help you..*
Some of you are keeping *malice with your*
destiny helper..
Some of you are still suffering, not because you
lack talent but because you *lack character.*

Talent is attractive.
Anyone can be talented, *but character is a*
*proof of discipline.* A proof of responsibility.
Character sustains the attraction talent gives
you.

Character is virtue, and sometimes what we call *FAVOUR* is triggered by virtue.

Mary was a Virgin.
She had virtue!
Which attracted the favour of being the mother
of the Saviour of the world!!
In all thy getting, *get character..*
*Respect people.*

*Treat strangers with courtesy..*
*Be kind..*

Your Angel won't always come like an Angel..
*Look down on nobody,* anyone can *change*
your life.

*It was the maid of Naaman, that told* him where
to *get healing.* Naaman was a *great man* but
had *leprosy.* He must have visited the greatest
hospital in the world as of that time. Who
would've ever thought that the solution to his
problem was in the *mouth of his maid?*

Sometimes the solutions of our problems are
trapped in the mouths of *mere people,* but
many of us are not *humble enough to see it.*

Prayer is not all. *Build relationships. God will use man.*Be accommodating, Be submissive, Don't be proud, arrogant and hard to control.
*Respect people. Get character.*

_God bless you_

TOPIC: THERE IS WATER IN YOUR WELL

Read Genesis 26:15-22

15 Now the Philistines had stopped up all the wells which his father’s servants had dug in the days of Abraham his father, and they had filled them with earth.
16 And Abimelech said to Isaac, “Go away from us, for you are much mightier than we.”
17 Then Isaac departed from there and pitched his tent in the Valley of Gerar, and dwelt there.
18 And Isaac dug again the wells of water which they had dug in the days of Abraham his father, for the Philistines had stopped them up after the death of Abraham. He called them by the names which his father had called them.
19 Also Isaac’s servants dug in the valley, and found a well of running water there.
20 But the herdsmen of Gerar quarreled with Isaac’s herdsmen, saying, “The water is ours.” So he called the name of the well Esek, a because they quarreled with him.
21 Then they dug another well, and they quarreled over that one also. So he called its name Sitnah.
22 And he moved from there and dug another well, and they did not quarrel over it. So he called its name Rehoboth, because he said, “For now the LORD has made room for us, and we shall be fruitful in the land.”

Declaration: He sends springs into the valleys; they flow among the hills (Psalms 104:10)

Listen Breathen.
There is only One Being who can send springs into your valleys and that is Almighty God. He is the Jehovah Jireh and Jehovah El Elyon, the Most High God. He is greater than every emptiness in your life. When He sends springs to your valleys, they become sources of blessing to your life. The emptiness of today has nothing to do with His provisions, tomorrow, for your family. The barrenness of today is the bridge for your twins and triplets, in the next nine months. The womb is not closed, and you are not barren. Barrenness and dryness you experience today in your life, marriage, business and family is a steppingstone to well of abundance in the name of Jesus. There is water in your well.
You should not write yourself off, in the presence of God. There is water in your well.
In Gen.21:19. God open the eyes of Hagar in the wilderness of Beer-sheba and she saw a well of water, and she went, and filled the bottle with water and gave the lad drink.
Are you presently wandering in the wilderness of life the Lord will open your eyes this morning to see direction, location and solution to your problem in the name of Jesus.
It may require more prayers, little faith, like the mustard seed and boldness in the face of your present battles. Rest assured, by the power of the Word of God that is coming out to you now: There is water in your well. This particular business that has not been bringing forth profits as expected, is going to bear the same spring that God will send to your valleys, and you shall be elevated to the top for all to see. There is water in your well, says the Lord God of Israel.
Every well that Isaac dug brought out waters for him. Enemies tried to stop them with the dust of the earth, but God kept on blessing him. No matter the number of losses you have suffered, they are terminated, now, by the authority in the name of Jesus Christ. All you need to do right now is to surrender your entire life and problems to the only solution to your problem by accepting Him as your Lord and personal Saviour, by confessing your sin to Him,for forgiveness ask Him to have mercy upon you and accept you as His son and daughter. And your name shall be written in the book of life. Congratulations I decree as you lifted your voice in prayer He will hearken unto your voices this morning in the name of Jesus. Hallelujah.

PRAYER POINTS.
1). Worship Him, bless him, magnify him, appreciate him having spare your life and your family during this pandemic and you and your family are among the living, bless him.
2. Lord, I believe that it is not yet over for me. Let water spring out from my well, now, in Jesus' name.
3. Almighty God, every well of blessings that enemies have stopped, let them explode, now, with live springs, by Your power, for my blessings.
4). Father let every dryness in my life, my husband, my wife and my children begin to overflow with water right now in the name of Jesus.
5. Father let every life, marriage, business, career, ministry in the valley be filled with water this morning.
6). Father put an ending to my wandering in the name of Jesus.
7). All wasteful resources in the cause of my wandering in the journey of life. Father restore back to me in sevenfold in the name of Jesus.
8). Your personal prayer points.
Thank Him for answering your prayers.

Father, remember Your children that have been digging their wells for waters of blessings, and visit them with pull of waters in their well, in Jesus' name. Amen.
God bless you have a great Weekend.

POWER IN THE MORNING.
Text.Genesis 19:27 And Abraham g*t up early in the morning to the place where he stood before the LORD:
In the morning
Early in the morning
In the morning
I will rise and praise the Lord.
Great people start their day early in the morning
The morning time is the time of maximum freshness
Psalm 90:6b says In the morning it flourished and groweth up.
It is the time your heart is pure and fresh from the worries, frustration disappointment and troubles of yesterday.
Great men took decision acted in the morning.
Joshua 3:1 And Joshua rose early in the morning; and they removed from Sh*ttim, and came to Jordan, he and all the children of Israel, and lodged there before they passed over.
Joshua 7:16 So Joshua rose up early in the morning, and brought Israel by their tribes; and the tribe of Judah was taken:
He comes visiting man in the morning.
Job 7:17 What is man, that thou shouldest magnify him? and that thou shouldest set thine heart upon him? 7:18 And that thou shouldest visit him every morning, and try him every moment?
Lamentations 3:23. His word are new every morning.
And when he comes visitings,he comes to teach you his ways.
Isaiah 50:4 The Lord GOD hath given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him that is weary: he wakeneth morning by morning, he wakeneth mine ear to hear as the learned.
He comes to give you a foreknowledge of what will happen in the day.
Psalms 143:8 Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.
Genesis 19:15 And when the morning arose, then the angels hastened Lot, saying, Arise, take thy wife, and thy two daughters, which are here; lest thou be consumed in the iniquity of the city.
Exodus 8:20 And the LORD said unto Moses, Rise up early in the morning, and stand before Pharaoh; lo, he cometh forth to the water; and say unto him, Thus saith the LORD, Let my people go, that they may serve me.
When you go before Him in the morning, He gives you instructions for the day. He unfolds the day before you.

Ezekiel 12:8 And in the morning came the word of the LORD unto me, saying,
Isaiah 30:21 And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.
Breathen, God is interested in guiding and directing our path only that we are so busy to consult Him. He is more than willing to other our step aright, we are to humble ourselves and come before him to receive His instructions daily.
Psalms 32:8 I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.
His son makes it mandatory every day to always go before His father.
Mark 1:35 And in the morning, rising up a great while before day, he went out, and departed into a solitary place, and there prayed.
He doesn't want you to go through the day blindly . He wants you to be informed.
However it takes humility and meekness to contact his instructions. It takes one that will be humble enough to go to Him for help.
Psalms 25:9 The meek will he guide in judgment: and the meek will he teach his way.
Breathen to neglect God in heaven is to be neglected on the earth. An encounter with Him every morning is the beginning of a perfect day.
A perfect day start with Him and continues with the Word.
Psalms 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Breathen don't leave home without having contact with heaven every morning. Good morning and have a blessed week.

THE MEANING OF DENY SELF.

BIBLE READING: LUKE 9:23 " _And he said to them all, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me"._

We are going to look at some words for deny: forget, renounce, ignore, disown, leave self behind, give up the things you want, put aside his desire, give up all right to himself, refuse e.t.c.

So what does it means to deny himself:

-To put aside your feelings

-To take no cognisance of your worth

-To loose one's will

-To release the right you have by yourself

-Not to remember whom you used to be

-To joyfully consent when your personal dignity is been revoked for Jesus sake

-To disown authority of a lower nature

-To leave flesh far behind

-To be considered mad in the world system

-To disassociate oneself from self

-To overlook and refuse to acknowledge self

-For someone to violate what is legitimately is yours and you joyfully concede it as it's his right to do that to you

-To give up your right of occupancy

It is a great risk to do any transaction with Mr flesh, you will get to a point where you will see nothing good in the flesh as want to defend it. Self can never crucify himself finish, there will always be a part that remain to disqualify you from going anywhere, self doesn't operate by quantity. If you give up all right of occupancy to yourself to God, you are saying it is enough, from now on Your wish is my command, I have no right to myself again.
If you are thinking that nobody can make this type of condition, but with God it is possible and God will still get those that will follow Him in this way while you are still arguing that nobody can do it. When God has gotten those that will be following Him in this footstep you will be surprise. Self that we have been dealing with can become a major hindrance for following Jesus.
Self is the only reason why you are not like Jesus. Sometimes self will be ashamed to be itself, it enjoys hiding. Put both good and bad self aside and leave yourself to whatsoever God does to you.
The basic hindrance unto spirituality is self and Jesus asked us to deny it. Self can never kill itself but Someone is going to do it for us, but we must be ready to renounce self, to give it up, to say to Jesus today whatever You want to do to this man -self take him.
Lifted in John 12:32 and John 3:14 have the same root. All that have been said in Matthew, Mark, Luke and John are the things man must do for God to take over.
The man that is not willing to deny himself, take up his cross daily and follow Jesus, God cannot take up from his hand to give him victory over mr flesh. If God did not do something to Mr flesh, even if you ignore him and refuse to talk, it will pull you to talk.
God is going to do something in our lives for us to put up the nature of our Lord Jesus Christ. This is the window we are opening that will turn our lives around and be the image of Jesus and that man that has hindered us over the years might become a forgotten issue.

For God to take over from a man, he must be ready to fulfill the conditions. Jesus said if any man want to follow Him, let him give up all right to himself, let him deny himself, let him release himself, take up his cross daily and follow Him, three components.

The call now is who among us is ready to be a follower of Jesus, if you have agreed, are you ready to renounce self, give up all right to yourself so that whatever Jesus do to your life you will not query Him. If you have understood this message,
agreed to the conditions and sincerely speaking, not that you want to be religious, let me remind you that this message is not meant to be popularly accepted, if it were popularly accepted many of His disciplines that turned back because of His message would not have turned back.
Jesus does not need quantity to do His work, He needs quality no matter how small they are. If you decide to go back because of what it entails to follow Jesus, He will not run after you.
The call today is specific, are you ready to be His true discipline, it doesn't matter what others claim to be or hearing, or they are Christians but are not following the pattern of Jesus, I don't care I have chosen the way of Calvary.
Hand over Mr flesh and tell God what I used to call myself I give it up today, even though I don't know how to sustain it yet I will follow You. Many may say I will follow Jesus when I have my first and second degrees, some sisters may say I want to give up the whole world but allow me to marry first after my wedding when I have done it the way the world does it, then I will become serious discipline. I want you to ask yourself did I actually want to embrace this matter Jesus spoke again and again about.
Peter told Jesus we have left all nowhere to go again. Ruth told Naomi, don't persuade me to return back, I will go with you even if I die. Don't be religious, Jesus is asking, will you also go away or follow me?.
Give up all right to yourself and allow Jesus to deal with it anyhow, don't have share in self again, live only to please Jesus. Be emptied of self for Christ to take over. Take decision not because of others but because you have seen the light. You are going to lose your identity in life, your way of dressing, your pursuit, ambition yield it and let it go. Make up your mind today, hand over yourself unto Jesus Christ, it may be drastic and rudeness when you stand to the call to give up yourself. Forsake all for the sake of knowing Christ, you have to come to a point where you will say no to yourself, personal instinct and comfort.

Song: I have decided to follow Jesus (3×)

No turning back(2×).
Prayer: Lord look at me, I known that there is no other way apart from You, help and sustain me.
Lord, I put my hands in Your hand, lead me and help me to stand till the end no matter what is going on around me, in Jesus name. Amen.

Text:”…if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. Luke 9:23

t is commonplace in modern-day Christianity to believe that as children of God, through the election of grace (1Thess.1:4; 2 Peter 1:10), that everything will be very smooth, straight, without hitch and essentially, a roller coaster – far from it! Jesus Christ, from our text, said that the consequence of being His child is cross carrying – the way of the cross is the pathway of pain, lack, torture, thirst, betrayal, humiliation, disgrace, satanic gang-up, shame, losses, helplessness and severe punishment but it will end in joy.
Jesus Christ forewarned His disciples of the incumbency of going to Jerusalem so that He could suffer many things (not few), face rejection by elders, chief priests and scribes, be slain and at the end be rewarded with a heavenly lift up (Luke 9:22). Peter reacted to this, he took Him aside and began to rebuke Him. He said that “Far be it from You, Lord: this shall not be to You” (Matthew 16:22-23). He said in essence that “I reject it!”, “It must never happen!”, “That will not be your portion!” Jesus’ reaction to Peter’s rebuke was very harsh and at same time quite instructive. He said to him “… Get thee behind Me, Satan! You are an offence to Me, for you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men (Matthew 16:23).

The implication of Jesus’ rebuke is that there had always been, and there still is, a dichotomy of messages in the public space. While one message is of men, the other is of God. The message about the things of men is to the effect that life must always be easy, devoid of challenges and always laden with prosperity while the message of the things of God implies that the aftermath of being a child of God is a combination of suffering, rejection and condemnation. It is impossible to stand for Jesus Christ and the world will not stand against you. Jesus Christ said that anyone who desires to follow Him must deny himself, that is must be heavenly focused, not be carnally minded (Romans 8:6) and must take up his cross (1Corinthians 1:18). Self- denial and cross carrying are the hallmarks of Christianity. Christianity is not about what you are saying or declaring, it is about what you are carrying, it is about the burden you are bearing and it is about the selfless services you are rendering for Christ’s sake (2 Corinthians 11:22-30).

Beloved in Christ, “Jesus is Lord” should not just be a slogan but it is also a life laden with unexplainable hatred, sacrifices and a commission for suffering cm persecution. Paul told Timothy that “…all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution” (2 Timothy 3:12 cf John 15:19). Brethren, your first passion and responsibility as a believer should be to the society followed by your family and lastly you. When this order is disrupted, the Christian faith is fraud-laden and self-serving. Christianity is not completely a bed of roses. If you want to be a real Christian and live according to the standard of heaven, you must be set for persecution, be ready to be insulted and be available to be ganged up against like Jesus Christ on His way to the Cross. It is impossible to stand for Jesus Christ and the world will not stand against you. The good news, however, is that the terminal point of those challenges is a lifting up. The Psalmist said that “weeping may endure for a night but joy comes in the morning” (Psalm 30:5).

It is, therefore, imperative to be very careful of who your counsellors are and be heedful of who you listen to. Most of the nice words flying around at such a time in our country with the Coronavirus may not be the right word of God but of men. Be careful of places where you go and where they inform you that all shall be easy – Jesus told Peter that such a message is not of God but of men. The real message is that without death, there is no resurrection; without rejection, there is no lifting up and in the absence of trials, there is no elevation. Jesus said that “…except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it dies, it bringeth forth much fruit” (John 12:24). Rejection must precede a lifting up. Casting must come before catching and trials are the advent of elevation. Jesus Christ said that “in the world there shall be tribulation but be of good cheer because I have overcome the world” (John 16:33; 1 Peter 4:16).

For people that have been redeemed of God, believers that are called by God and the lot that belongs to Him, there is certainty of water, river and fire experiences but God has promised that “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shalt not be burned; nor shall the flame scorch you” (Isaiah 43:2). It, therefore, doesn’t matter how sweeping the water is, how stormy the rivers are and how fierce the fire is this hour, it shall surely end in testimony for you in the name of Jesus. Every problem had an expiry date label!

Are you passing through some challenges now as a believer? Are things so hard with you economically and you are wondering why, after praying and fasting? Are you having health issues that seemed to defy prayers? Are you being persecuted for righteousness’ sake? Are you passing through fire, river or a raging storm? Are you suffering silently and don’t know who to talk to? Are you experiencing grave issues in your marriage? I have good news for you – they are the consequences of being a child of God and it shall end in joy. The present challenges are positioned to test your faith (1 Peter 1:7). You must continue to hold on to Jesus Christ, don’t lose hope or look back like Lot’s wife, don’t cut corners or compromise your faith. Very soon, it shall all end in joy and celebration. It is impossible to stand for Jesus Christ and the world will not stand against you!

Prayer: Father, give me strength to carry my cross and turn my weeping into joy, in Jesus’ name

Eve in Genesis
The purpose of this article is to show by looking at the example of Eve in Genesis how important it is to know and apply accurately what the Bible, the Word of God, says.

We are in the second chapter of Genesis. God had already created man, (Genesis 1:28), putting only one restriction to him:

Genesis 2:16-17
"And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat: but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die."

This is what God said i.e. this is the word of God. Let's now go to Genesis 3.

Genesis 3:1
"Now the serpent was more cunning than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said to the woman, "Has God indeed said, You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?"

In this verse, the serpent, which is another name for the devil, tempted Eve. As we can see, he did not reveal his true face right from the beginning. Instead, he started with a question: "Has God indeed said, You shall not eat of every tree of the garden?" Did he not know what God said? Of course he did. However, by asking the question, he tried to put doubts in Eve’s mind about what God had said. This strategy hasn't changed at all. Indeed, how many people have come through the centuries that have spent their lives trying to challenge God's people about what God said, exactly as the devil did? And they will always succeed as long as the people of God, exactly as Eve in Genesis, don’t pay close attention to what the Bible, the Word of God, says. That's why it is needed to rightly divide, to know and to apply, what the Word of God, the Bible, says. Unfortunately, Eve did not do that. See her answer in verses 2 and 3 of Genesis 3:

Genesis 3:2-3
"And the woman said to the serpent, We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden; but of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die."

At a first glance, what Eve said seems pretty accurate. However a simple comparison to what God said can easily prove that it is not. Indeed, while Eve said: "We may eat the fruit of the trees of the garden" (Genesis 3:2), God said: "Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat" (Genesis 2:16). Evidently, she omitted the word "freely". Now you may say "Oh that's nothing. It does not matter". But if it does not matter then why God said it? Everything that God says matters. Every word of the Bible is there because God wanted it so and therefore it is equally word of God. Returning to Eve, her omission was just the beginning. In Genesis 3:3, Eve, supposedly reciting God, said: "But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God has said "You shall not eat it, nor shall you touch it, lest you die." Is this really something that God said? No! He never said "nor shall you touch it". Moreover, He did not simply say "lest [probably, sometime] you die" but He stated emphatically that "in the day [in that very day] that you eat of it you shall surely die." Since God is right in everything He says, something had to die that day, and we deal with this in the article “Body, soul and spirit”. But see here what Eve did: she initially omitted a word, then she added a phrase, and finally she took away the emphasis from what God said. Therefore, what she said, though it looked similar to what God said, it was really not what He said. I also believe that indicates that though she knew the Word of God, albeit not accurately so, this Word was not as much as part of her heart as it should have been. Her actions confirm this. It is after seeing Eve’s handling of the Word of God that Satan revealed his true colors: "Then the serpent said to the woman, You shall not surely die" (Genesis 3:4). See the contradiction to what God said: God said: "you shall surely die" (Genesis 2:17). The devil said: "You shall not surely die". Isn't it interesting that it takes just the addition of a small word, the word "not", to arrive to such a contradiction with the Word of God? You may think that this has changed today but it hasn't. For example, for thousands of years God says in the Bible: "For by grace you are saved through faith; .....not of works lest anyone should boast" (Ephesians 2:8-9). However, for millions of people it is the exact opposite: "by works". Guess who is the one that made this "not of works" of Ephesians 2:8-9 non-existent for those millions of people? The same one who spoke to Eve and added the "not" in Genesis 3.

To conclude: in Genesis, Eve was tempted by the devil, exactly as Jesus did in Matthew 4. However, whereas Jesus respected, knew and applied the Word of God, Eve mishandled it. What God had said carried, perhaps, certain weight for her, but much less than what it should have carried. This was shown by her reply to the devil in Genesis 3 where she was adding and omitting phrases, words and emphasis to what God had truly said. Only after the devil saw this, he showed his true colors. This example shows how important is to know and apply accurately the Bible, the Word of God. The Word of God is the sword of the panoply that God gave us “to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11). If you don’t know the Bible, the Word of God, and if you have not put it in your heart, then how are you going, without sword, to stand against him? You will have no chance, exactly as Eve had no chance. Knowing bits and pieces or just having some head knowledge of the Word is not going to help. You have to know what God has said and this has to be part of your heart. Only then you will be able to reply in the way our Lord Jesus Christ replied to the devil in Matthew 4 i.e. with a strong “it is written” and not with a “oh well, let’s see… I think…” like essentially Eve did in Genesis. The example of Eve in Genesis is an example to be avoided and in the article “The temptations of Jesus (Matthew 4)” we will show the example to be followed: the example of our Lord Jesus Christ.
