GRAND CHIEF IMAM OF IKORODU DIVISION, SHAYKH SEIFUDEEN OLOWOORIBI, INAUGURATES PLANNING COMMITTEE FOR HIS 70TH BIRTHDAY AND 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF IMAMATE
Ikorodu, Lagos State.
In a landmark gathering of religious and community leaders, the Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division, Fadilat Sheikh Ayinla Ademoritan Olowooribi, has formally inaugurated a high-powered planning committee to oversee arrangements for his forthcoming dual milestone celebration.
The historic event, themed “My Legacy, Our Mosque,” commemorates the 70th birthday of the revered Islamic scholar and marks 20 years of his devoted service as the Grand Chief Imam of Ikorodu Division.
A Celebration with Purpose: Rebuilding the Ikorodu Central Mosque
Addressing attendees at the inauguration ceremony, Fadilat Sheikh Olowooribi stressed that the celebration transcends personal achievement and represents a collective call toward the spiritual and infrastructural advancement of the Muslim community. He announced that both milestones have been dedicated to the ambitious reconstruction of the Ikorodu Central Mosque into an ultramodern Islamic centre.
"This is a dream gradually coming to fruition as I witness the collective commitment toward this noble cause,” the Grand Chief Imam stated. “I have dedicated my birthday and anniversary to the rebuilding of our Central Mosque, a legacy project that will stand as a symbol of our shared faith and unity.”
The Grand Chief Imam expressed deep appreciation to the Ayangbure of Ikorodu, His Royal Majesty, Oba Kabiru Adewale Shotobi, for his visionary leadership and unwavering support toward the realization of the project.
"I must specially acknowledge our Royal Father for championing this cause and for his strategic efforts in ensuring the success of this project. May Allah ease his affairs and crown this effort with success,” he prayed.
According to the Grand Chief Imam, members of the planning committee were meticulously selected based on their integrity, competence, and proven records of service.
The committee is chaired by Hon. Kamaldeen Damilola Olowosago, Permanent Secretary, Lands and Bureau, Lagos State, whose wealth of administrative experience and strategic insight is expected to significantly drive the success of the “My Legacy, Our Mosque” initiative.
