IKORODU MUSLIMS COMMENCE FULL PREPARATION ON THE CELEBRATION OF HIJRAH 1448AH
In the spirit of brotherhood in Islam, The Organizing Committee of Ikorodu Hijrah Celebration under the Ameership of Fadhilat Sheikh Musa Toib Al- Wajud (As-Sheikhanny) is pleased to announce the forthcoming annual Hijrah celebration, themed Unity and Compassion: A Panacea to National Insecurity.
This year's event seeks to highlight the critical role of unity, mutual understanding, tolerance, and compassion in addressing the growing security challenges facing our nation. As Nigeria continues to grapple with various forms of insecurity, the need for collective responsibility and harmonious coexistence among citizens has never been more important.
The Hijrah celebration, which commemorates the historic migration of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) from Makkah to Madinah, serves as a reminder of the values of sacrifice, peace, brotherhood, and community development.
Through lectures, prayers, discussions, and community engagement activities, Chief Imams, Islamic organizations, Central Mosques, Ratibis, NGOs etc are encouraged to embrace these virtues as practical solutions to contemporary societal challenges.
Distinguished Islamic scholars, community leaders, government representatives, youth organizations, and members of the public are expected to participate in the event, contributing valuable insights on fostering national unity and promoting peaceful coexistence.
The Organizing Committee calls on all residents of Ikorodu, Lagos State and Nigerians at large to join hands in building a society founded on love, compassion, justice, and mutual respect. Together, we can create a safer and more prosperous nation for present and future generations.
The event is scheduled to hold on Sunday 21st June, 2026 (Muharram 5th, 1448AH) at the Ikorodu Ultra-Modern Town Hall, Ikorodu Lagos State.
We warmly invite the media, stakeholders, Islamic organizations, and the general public to be part of this impactful event as we collectively advocate for peace, unity, and national development.
