RAW FAITH SERIES: APOSTLE BABALOLA AND THE WITCHES IN EFON ALAYE
This piece is not an attack of any particular section of this country but to reveal how our father dealth with occultism.
The witches coven is one of the most dreadliest in the world, though they are smallest in the kingdom of darkness but the truth is they are everywhere causing havoc.
In those days, Efon Alaye was like a zonal headquarters of witches, there was an ode to that effect in that town, awon omo a je odidi eniyan ma nu enu nu(one who eats a whole human being without cleaning his mouth).
They were so notorious to the point that the whole city was used to appeasing them, a woman may have 10 children yet non will survive.
During the early days of the 1930 revival, the Lord spoke to Ayo Babalola in a vision to go to Efon Alaye, those who knows the town stylishly warned Apostle to wait abit.
Apostle Ayo Babalola spent some days praying and boom he set out to the town with his team. The Lord told him to enter the town by midday when the witches are off to their mid day meeting.
When Baba entered the town, he started ringing his prayer bell, the demon on guard fleed knowing trouble have come.
He started by going from house to house, praying for the sick, for many days, he continued and almost the whole town was set free from the shackles and hold of witchcraft spirit.
The day he stepped into that town was the last day the witches were able to access their coven, the spiritual atmosphere have been saturated, they were ready to do anything to have their reign back but Babalola was up to the task.
Babalola is not from Efon Alaye as some pushed though he carried out a large chunk of his ministry in that town.
So a revival broke out in the town hundreds of witches began to confess and renounced their artistry.
Everywhere was on fire, that was where Babalola composed the popular ayan mo na ologun ti owo mi te psalmu, and Babalola olomi iye re, aje mu nibe o ka soro( witch-doctors are in trouble when I touch the psalm & Babalola with the living water is here, if the witches drink from it, they shall confess).
He was so sure because the Lord have told him that if he was able to accomplish the work in that area, three quarter of his work is done.
So a revival beyond what happened at Oke Oye in Ilesha began, the king had no choice than to bow to the God of Ayo Babalola.
For many days there was no single death, no strange occurrence outside the prayer meeting that has now gone beyond a month at the market square.
Former witches were baptized in the Holy Ghost, they now spoke in tongues instead of eating human flesh.
Early morning prayers, counselling and revival in the evening.
So Babalola will climb the mountain in the midnight to pray, on one of these many nights, he climb the famous Ori Oke Isegun, a crying demon(egbere) pick its mat and ran away.
It became the talk of the town in the morning, because people follow him wherever he went.
Now a need came to have a worship centre, he approached the King and he was given the dreadliest forest of billions of demons.
No one dared enter this forest, some people who were not pleased that Babalola have stopped their business advised the king to give him that place.
Without much ado, Babalola told his team member to meet him there in 3days times with cutlasses, he entered the forest reading Psalm 24 and ringing his prayer bell.
The people waited at the entrance waiting for what would happened to the man whose God have set the town free.
The demons in the forest began to scream out, fleeing where they had abode to terrorize that the town.
On the third day, he came out and the whole town erupted with you, the forest that no one dare enter was cleared by the men of Ayo Babalola.
On that ground stands a church today.
