TOPIC: THE NEED FOR A PRAYER PARTNER

Read Matthew 18:18-20
18. Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.
19. Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
20. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them.

MEMORISE: Again I say to you that if two of you agree on earth concerning anything that they ask, it will be done for them by My Father in heaven (Matthew 18:19)

EXPOSITION
Prayer is necessary in communicating with God and expressing our minds before Him. Prayer is one of the Kingdom principles. Our spiritual strength and stability largely depend on our prayer lives. If you succeed in your prayer life, you succeed in life, and vice versa. As much as the Bible instructs us to regularly engage in private prayer (Matt. 6:6), it warns us against forsaking the gathering of the brethren (Heb. 10:25), and strongly emphasises the effectiveness of prayer partnership (Matt. 18:19-20).
Nevertheless, it is a pity that much emphasis is seldom laid on the issue of prayer partnership amidst us today. There are benefits of having prayer partners. First, many people often struggle in prayer, finding it difficult to stay longer in prayer, when they do it alone. This is why the Bible instructs us to pray with, and for one another (Jas. 5:16). Second, you need not face your challenges alone, if you have a prayer partner who will pray with you and hold you accountable. Third, almost everyone is fighting a private battle; you need a faithful prayer partner you can share your experiences with. Fourth, bearing the burden of emotional and spiritual trauma can drain your body, discourage your soul and trouble your spirit (cf. Prov. 27:17).
How then can you find a right prayer partner?
1. It all starts with praying to God to connect you with the right person.
2. You need one you can trust, who can keep your prayer needs private.
3. You need one who knows and believes in God's Word; many of the situations we seek in prayer have already been addressed in the Bible.
4. You need a spiritual Christian. A carnal person cannot understand the things of the Spirit (1 Cor. 2:14-15).

PRAYER POINTS
1. Father, help me to be spiritually sensitive in choosing my prayer partners.
2. Lord, connect me with spiritual people who will enhance my spiritual growth and development.
3. Lord, let the spirit of correct spiritual partnership reign in Your Church.

*WHY LINGER?*

*Read Genesis 19:12-17*

*MEMORISE*
*So it came to pass, when they had brought them outside, that he said, “Escape for your life! Do not look behind you nor stay anywhere in the plain. Escape to the mountains, less you be destroyed” (Genesis 19:17).*

*EXPOSITION*
Lingering is being reluctant to leave, or hesitating to quit a particular place at a given time. Reluctance and indecision always characterize the lives of people who linger in risky and dangerously fatal situations. The Bible has always encouraged promptness and eagerness to secure and obtain salvation (Acts 3:19). Side attractions, distractions and issues of inconsequence will always make people to continue to be unwilling and indecisive to quit sinful acts!
Lot, through the magnanimity of the LORD, after powerful and consistent intercession of Abraham, was warned together with his family to quit the godless S***m and Gomorrah, for their sinful cup was full (Gen. 19:1ff). The angels possibly saw that Lot was encumbered and entangled with so many things dragging the quitting; and that was why the angels led them by hands out of the city (Gen. 19:16).
The Lord in His infinite mercy does not wish anybody dead as a result of sin; instead, He seeks repentance from all (2 Pet. 3:9). However, you must desist from lingering in sin to avoid the judgment of God coming upon the recalcitrant (2 Pet. 3:10). By postponing the day you will finally quit smoking, alcoholic drinking, disobedience, fornicating, gambling, reveling, and gossiping….etc., you are trying to postpone the evil day!
Today is the day of salvation. If you are already saved, you are safe, but pass on the good news to somebody you know still lingers in sins, today. God bless you (Amen).

*PRAYER POINTS*
1. Pray for the sinners you know around you today (Mention their names, if possible)
2. Lord, Let Your kingdom come so that we don’t continue to linger in this world of s

*TOPIC: LIVING APOSTOLIC LIFESTYLE*

*Read: Acts 4:32-37*

[32]And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common.[33]And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all.[34]Neither was there any among them that lacked: for as many as were possessors of lands or houses sold them, and brought the prices of the things that were sold,[35]And laid them down at the apostles' feet: and distribution was made unto every man according as he had need.[36]And Joses, who by the apostles was surnamed Barnabas, (which is, being interpreted, The son of consolation,) a Levite, and of the country of Cyprus,[37]Having land, sold it, and brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.

*MEMORISE: _Now the multitude of those who believed were of one heart and one soul; neither did anyone say that any of the things he possessed was his own, but they had all things in common_ (Acts 4:32).*

*EXPOSITION*
Apostles were formally called so only after Jesus Christ had ascended into Heaven. This became ideal because giving them Apostleship meant they were to be Ambassadors of Jesus Christ who went to sit at God’s right hand. By extension, all Christians become representatives/ambassadors of Christ on earth *(2 Cor. 5:17ff).* It is therefore phony and funny to see people taking ‘apostleship’ as a spiritual title rather than spiritual function or office!

Ranging from total dedication to the gospel, to spending and being spent for the welfare of others, the apostles, who never saw being ‘apostles’ as special church title, received excellent percentage from God. When we fail to take the gospel and all it represents with all seriousness, we are far from living like the apostles. When we ‘run away’ from preaching and teaching the gospel in its raw form because of the threat of death from the enemies of the cross, within and without, we are _‘unapostolic’!_ When some church members suffer while others enjoy lavishly and even waste the resources, we are anti-apostolic!

If all our efforts are geared towards building cathedrals in the cities while neglecting and forgetting the loved but lost ones in the suburbs, we need no seer to tell us we are missing it in a big way! The early apostles, being assured of Christ’s constant backing, neither relented nor revenged on their efforts to spread the gospel. Had they failed, how would the gospel have reached us today? You can decide to be back to the Bible and live like the apostles. By so doing, you are fulfilling the mandate of God for your life. Bless you.

*PRAYER POINTS*
*1.* Holy Spirit, empower me to fully represent Christ in this decaying world.
*2.* Lord, restore the Church to the apostolic commitments, rather than being unnecessarily title-conscious.
*3.* Lord, punitively expose and deal with those tarnishing the image of the Church with those tarnishing the image of the Church with several unchristian beliefs and practices, with the aim of restoring them to your right path.

I watched a local football⚾ match in a school playing ground. As I sat down, I asked one of the boys what the score was.

With a smile, he replied; "They are leading us 3-0" !

And I said, REALLY!!

I have to say you don't look discouraged.

"Discouraged?" the boy asked with a puzzled look ...

Why should I be discouraged when the referee has not blown the final whistle?

I have confidence in the team and the managers; We shall definitely overcome!

Truly, the match ended 5-4 in favor of the boy's team!

He waved✋ at me gently, with a beautiful smile as he left; I was amazed, mouth wide open; Such confidence; Such beautiful faith;

As I got back home that night, his question kept coming back to me:
"Why should I be discouraged when the referee has not blown the final whistle?"

Life is like a game.

Why should you be discouraged when The Almighty God is your manager? Why should you be discouraged, when there's still life? Why should you be discouraged when your final whistle has not sounded? The truth is that many people blow the final whistle themselves;

But as long as there is life , nothing is impossible and it is never too late for you.
(Impossible is just an opinion. Believe in Infinity)

Half time is not full time and HIS calendar for your life is not man's calendar.

Don't blow the whistle yourself.

BE ENCOURAGED! DON'T GIVE UP.

With God all things are still possible!"

👍God Bless u

SMALL HOLE
A man was asked to paint a boat. He brought with him paint and brushes and began to paint. While painting, he realized there was hole in the ship and decided to repair it. When finished painting, he received his money and left. The next day, the owner of the boat came to the painter and presented to him a nice cheque much higher than the payment of the painting. The painter was surprised: You have already paid me for painting the boat! He said. But this is not for painting job, it's for having repaired the hole in the boat. Ah! But it was such a small service..... Certainly it's not worth paying me so such a high amount for something so insignificant.

My dear friend you do not understand. When I asked you to paint the boat, I forgot to mention about the hole. When the boat dried up my kids took the boat and went on a fishing trip. They did not know there was a hole in the boat and I was not at home at that time. Imagine what went through my mind but when I saw them, I could not believe it. Then I found that the hole in the boat had been repaired by you. You saved the life of my children. God bless you.

WHAT WISE MEN DO
READ MATTHEW 2:1-12
MEMORIES: Give, and it will be given to you: good measure, pressed down shaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you. (Luke 6:38)

EXPOSITION
Solomon, in Proverbs, enjoins us to get wisdom and understanding as chief of all that men can get. Everyone believes he/she is wise including the mad man on the street. But are all wise? The word 'wise' means having or showing wisdom or knowledge, usually from learning or experiencing many things; showing good sense of judgment. After the birth of Jesus, certain men came all the way from the East to Nazareth to pay homage to Him, and were called wise, because:
i. They gave their eyes to are good things. They were convinced of seeing the great Star that led them to Jesus.
ii. They gave there talents/treasures. This is a special ability that allows someone to do some things well. What do you use your talent/gift for, and for who? They never expect "returns". Treasures used for the course of the gospel are more rewarding. Don't be like the rich fool (Lk. 18:22,23).
iii. They gave their time: from the East to Nazareth was no doubt a very long distance. One that gives his time has actually given many things (Lk. 14:26).
iv. They gave the ears (v. 12; 1 Sam. 15:22).
If you have given all these, then you have no doubt given your heart. Wise men give their hearts to their Creators and get their names printed in gold. Can we emulate these wise men and women - Abel, Hannah, David, Solomon, Nicodemus, Tabitha? You must surrender your life to Jesus today.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, forgive me in any way I have been wise in my own eyes.
2. Father Lord, deliver our youths from the attitude of Mr. know it all which is making them lose their blessing.
3. Lord, put in our leaders the spirit of servanthood, so that they would know they are in those positions to better the lots if the masses.
