NASFAT WORLDWIDE UPDATE!!!
October 17th of every year has been set aside by the General Assembly of the United Nations as a day to promote awareness of the need to eradicate poverty and destitution in all countries across the world, especially in the developing Countries. Nasrul-Lahi-l Fatih Society (NASFAT), in its effort to contribute its own quota in the reduction of poverty in the society will be organizing a week activities to promote awareness within our members and non- members.
To celebrate this year’s International Day for Eradication of Poverty, we are organizing the following activities:
i. Wednesday 14th October 2015. Time 8.00am
“EMPOWERMENT Walk”: – participation of empowerment secretaries and other NASFAT members.
Purpose - to create awareness for empowerment of women and youth towards eradicating poverty in the society. During the walk, participants will visit LTV and MITV stations
ii. Thursday 15th October 2015. Time 8.00am
Visitation and Donations to Physically-challenged Homes: Homes where skill-building techniques are taught with the aim of encouraging and donating training materials to the trainees
iii. Friday 16th October 2015.
Jumat Prayer: Alausa Central Mosque, Surulere Branch Mosque, Fashoro, Ikorodu branch Mosques.
iv. Saturday 17th October 2015. Time 9.00am
One-Day Empowerment Workshop: Participation of empowerment secretaries. Topic is “A journey as an empowerment secretary”. The purpose of the workshop is to educate participants on their duties as empowerment secretaries.
The workshop will cover several topics including roles of an empowerment secretary, effective networking, team-building, entrenching empowerment and creating growth plans, brainstorming on new ideas and innovation, improving financing empowerment programmes, question and answer sessions. Facilitators invited for the workshop include experts on entrepreneurship. We are expecting over 100 participants at the workshop.

Celebration of Success: Graduation Ceremony of 120 students trained from the Vocational Training Centre and branches: The ceremony will cover a presentation on the theme for this year International Poverty Eradication Day “Building a sustainable future: Coming together to end poverty and discrimination”. It will showcase selected recipients of NAZAS support in the empowerment training and also include the presentation of certificates and gifts to outstanding students
