Exploring the Legacy of PA. JOSIAH OTENIGBAGBE, Drawing a light introductory sketch of his biographical overview, his impacts,ethical and moral lessons from his life and work and also reflecting on the enduring Influence from his living.
Pa Otenigbagbe lived a long and fulfilling life. He was known for his wisdom, kindness, and generosity. Throughout his life, he made significant contributions to his community and touched the lives of many people.
Pa Otenigbagbe was born on April 17th, 1930 . He grew up in a close-knit family whose origin is Ijebu-Ijesha, Osun state and learned important values from his parents,he attended and bagged a BSC. Degree in the University Of Ibadan, Masters and PHD. In Land-grant University in gainesville, Florida.
As he grew older, he became known for his strong work ethic and dedication to his family.
Seeking first God's kingdom in his younger years,
Pa. Otenigbagbe in the year 1976, gathered a team of three (Late Pa. Olupitan, Late Pa Orija and himself ) to establish a place of worship in shogunle town,oshodi,this team succeeded in their pursuit and God through their hands planted the Celestial Church Of Christ Shogunle Parish 1,the now CCC. HEPHZIBAH CATHEDRAL SHOGUNLE in one month.
Pa. Otenigbagbe has 5 children (Pastor Mrs Tope Otenigbagbe, Pastor Dapo Otenigbagbe,Pastor Femi Otenigbagbe ,Pastor Sigi Otenigbagbe and one other ),among his business is a block industry which he so much loved and was named after him (Teni's Block),he owned three (3) houses and was one of the first set of lecturers at the University of Lagos (UNILAG) and also had over 400 staffs working under him as he was a permanent secretary of the federal civil service of Nigeria directly under the former head of state, General Yakubu Gowon.
He was a great philanthropist who helped alot in the church and encouraged youths to embrace education ,
Pa Josiah otenigbagbe was the one who changed the face of the church mercy land ( the inner altar) before the recent renovation, he single handedly constructed the church main gate at Hephzibah Cathedral Shogunle and was also instrumental towards the building of the mission house currently in use today i.e the shepherd house 🏠.
As he got older, Pa Otenigbagbe became a respected elder in the community, People sought his advice and wisdom on various matters. He was known for his ability to listen attentively and offer thoughtful guidance.
Throughout his life, Pa Otenigbagbe was actively involved in community development projects. He played a key role in building churches, schools, healthcare centers, and other infrastructure that improved the lives of people around him.
Pa Otenigbagbe was deeply passionate about education. He strongly believed that knowledge was the key to progress and empowerment. He encouraged young people to pursue their education and supported them in their academic endeavors.
He doesn't discriminate neither does he look down on people but encouraged people to be passionate in doing the work of God and invest heavily on things that will give glory to God.
He was a no-nonsense person during his lifetime, Which earned him " you push me i push you, I no go go.... Until baby become madam'' slogan.
He was an orator,whose dictions and pronunciation of words in queens english is top-notch.
On the 26th day of March 2024, at the age of 93, Pa Otenigbagbe peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of faith,love, wisdom, and compassion. His memory continues to
inspire and his teachings are passed down through the generations.
