βœοΈπŸ“– TEXT: 1 Corinthians 15:1-11(NKJV)
15:1. Moreover, brethren, I declare to you the gospel which I preached to you, which also you received and in which you stand,
15:2. by which also you are saved, if you hold fast that word which I preached to you -- unless you believed in vain.
15:3. For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures,
15:4. and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,
15:5. and that He was seen by Cephas, then by the twelve.
15:6. After that He was seen by over five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain to the present, but some have fallen asleep.
15:7. After that He was seen by James, then by all the apostles.
15:8. Then last of all He was seen by me also, as by one born out of due time.
15:9. For I am the least of the apostles, who am not worthy to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
15:10. But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God [which was] with me.
15:11. Therefore, whether [it was] I or they, so we preach and so you believed.

βœοΈπŸ“œSTUDY: The gospel of Christ has been greatly attacked in recent times by the so-called hyper-grace teachers. They blaze abroad their gospel, teaching the doctrines of 'passivism'. They teach that when we are saved, God has already forgiven all of our sins, namely: past, present, and future sins, so there is no need to ask for forgiveness whenever we sin. Secondly, they say that once we are saved, we remain saved, which is understood as a certainty of salvation without needing to work out that salva

✝️TEXT: John 10:22-42(NKJV)
10:22. Now it was the Feast of Dedication in Jerusalem, and it was winter.
10:23. And Jesus walked in the temple, in Solomon's porch.
10:24. Then the Jews surrounded Him and said to Him, "How long do You keep us in doubt? If You are the Christ, tell us plainly."
10:25. Jesus answered them, "I told you, and you do not believe. The works that I do in My Father's name, they bear witness of Me.
10:26. "But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.
10:27. "My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.
10:28. "And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone sn**ch them out of My hand.
10:29. "My Father, who has given [them] to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to sn**ch [them] out of My Father's hand.
10:30. "I and [My] Father are one."
10:31. Then the Jews took up stones again to stone Him.
10:32. Jesus answered them, "Many good works I have shown you from My Father. For which of those works do you stone Me?"
10:33. The Jews answered Him, saying, "For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy, and because You, being a Man, make Yourself God."
10:34. Jesus answered them, "Is it not written in your law, 'I said, "You are gods" '?
10:35. "If He called them gods, to whom the word of God came (and the Scripture cannot be broken),
10:36. "do you say of Him whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, 'You are blaspheming,' because I said, 'I am the Son of God'?
10:37. "If I do not do the works of My Father, do not believe Me;
10:38. "but if I do, though you do not believe Me, believe the works, that you may know and believe that the Father [is] in Me, and I in Him."
10:39. Therefore they sought again to seize Him, but He escaped out of their hand.
10:40. And He went away again beyond the Jordan to the place where John was baptizing at first, and there He stayed.
10:41. Then many came to Him and said, "John performed no sign, but all the things that John spoke about this Man were true."
10:42. And many believed in Him there.

βœοΈπŸ“œ STUDY: The events of today's reading took place during the Feast of Dedication. This festival, which was held on the 25th day of the Jewish ninth month of Kislev (around December), was introduced to mark the re-consecration of the temple after it was polluted centuries earlier. Solomon's Porch of the temple was also where the lame man was healed through Peter and John, and a regular meeting room of the early disciples (v.23; Acts 3:11; 5:12).

The Jews wanted Jesus to tell them clearly if He was the expected Messiah. But Jesus' response showed that the unbelief of the Jews prevented them from accepting him as the Messiah. The Jews were expecting a political Messiah who would deliver them from the Romans (John 6:15), but Jesus' kingship is not of this world. Rather, He came to give eternal life to those who hear his voice. Do you hear the voice of the Master which comes to us regularly as we read through the Scriptures, listen to sermons or participate in various Christian activities? Let our attention each time be to hear Him speaking to us. That is when we can reap the benefits of eternal life and union with God (vv. 28-30).

βœοΈπŸ™ PRAYER: O Lord, help me to hear your voice always, and to follow you closely, Amen!

πŸ“Ί WATCH THE DEVOTION VIA THE LINK BELOW πŸ‘‡

TEXT: John 9:39-41(NKJV)
9:39. And Jesus said, "For judgment I have come into this world, that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may be made blind."
9:40. Then [some] of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these words, and said to Him, "Are we blind also?"
9:41. Jesus said to them, "If you were blind, you would have no sin; but now you say, 'We see.' Therefore your sin remains.

βœοΈπŸ“œ STUDY: After dealing with the physical blindness of the man born blind, Jesus made reference to the spiritual blindness of the Pharisees. In Matthew 15:14, the Pharisees were called "blind guides" because they emphasized ritual cleanliness and the traditions of men rather than true righteousness which comes from full obedience to the word of God. They were conversant with the Old Testament Scriptures, but their true meanings were hidden from them (2 Cor. 3:15).

As 2 Corinthians 4:4 puts it, "the god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ." But Jesus has come so that those who are spiritually blind may see (v.39). In verse 40, the Pharisees asked Jesus "Are we blind also?" We all need to address the same question today. Do you gladly receive the word of God? Do you quickly obey God when you hear and understand his word? As you open your heart to Christ today, every 'veil' covering your spiritual sight will be removed (2 Cor. 3:16). Then you can serve God acceptably with joy and strength.

βœοΈπŸ™ PRAYER: Open my eyes, that I may see wondrous things from Your law (Psalm 119:18).
