PRESS RELEASE ON SHEIKH YAHAYA JINGRE, HATE SPEECH ON CHRISTIANS IN NIGERIA.

STATEMENT OF CONDEMNATION.

I, Ajik Sabo Gideon, condemn in totality the way and manner Sheikh Yahaya Jingre referred to Christians as _“infidels”_.

Nigeria is home to both Christians and Muslims who have lived together for decades. Name-calling and religious insults do not build peace. They deepen division, suspicion, and pain in a country that is already hurting.

We cannot preach peace with one mouth and use hateful language with the other. Such words disrespect the faith of millions and undermine efforts of religious leaders who are working for dialogue and unity.

I call on Sheikh Yahaya Jingre to retract the statement and on all religious leaders to choose words that heal rather than words that wound. Nigeria needs healing, not provocation.

Let us respect each other’s faith. Insulting Christ or any prophet will never bring development or security to our land.

May God give us wisdom to guard our tongues and courage to build bridges.
