OUR DAILY ENCOURAGER” FOR THURSDAY (05-02-2026)*

“…that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. “ (Rom15:4)

*What Fear Is Afraid Of*

Love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. 1 John 4:18 (NLT)

Fear is an incredibly powerful force. It drives us to do things we would never consider under normal circumstances. When fear has its cruel hand on our heart's wheel, we'll make disastrous financial, relational, vocational, and even spiritual decisions.

Look back on your own life. How many bad choices have you made because you were fearful of something or someone?
Sometimes, fear can have such a stranglehold on us that we feel unable to break free from it. We see the negative in everything, we can't celebrate in anything, and before we know it we've lost our opportunity to experience life as God intended.

How has God intended us to live? The answer is in love. God wants our experience in this world to be dominated by love, and in 1 John 4:18 we see that "Love has no fear" and "expels all fear." As powerful as fear is, it s a 90-pound weakling when compared to love. In a sense, we can say that fear is afraid of love.
Here's one sure-fire, can't miss, way to get over your fears...be filled with God's love. When love moves into your heart, fear has to move out. Imagine your greatest fear...maybe your palms are sweating even now as you think about it. Perhaps the fear of something or someone has had you paralyzed for years. Maybe fear has you convinced that you can't and you never will. God's love can set you free from that, and it will when you ask Him to pour His love out upon your life.

The Barrier of Unbelief

But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. James 1:6

The angel suddenly vanished and a cool morning breeze sent a chill down Peters arm. Suddenly he realized that he was awake and everything he had just experienced was real. The chains had really fallen from his wrists. He had really walked right past the guards. The huge iron gates had really opened and he was really free! Knowing that the believers were praying for him, he made his way through the empty streets to the house of Mary, the mother of John Mark. This is where the prayer meeting was being held, and Peter could hardly wait to show his face to his dear friends who were diligently interceding for his release.

This is where the story becomes a bit comical because while all of the other barriers and doors had opened to Peter so freely, he was about to encounter one door that would not open to him.

The Bible says in Acts 12:13 that Peter knocked at the gate and a young lady named Rhoda heard it. She came to the door, and through the crack she asked, Whos there? Peter said, Its me, RhodaIve just been delivered from prison. Open the door and let me come in. Rhoda was so excited to hear Peters voice that she failed to open the door. She ran back into the room where the prayer meeting was in full swing. Some were bowing, others were weeping, still others were warring in the heavenlies for Peters release.

Rhoda interrupted the prayer meeting with the urgent announcement, Hey, everybody! Peter is at the door. They laughed at her. Youre crazy, Rhodadont you know that Peter is in prison? He is bound between two soldiers, behind two wards of guards, behind a massive iron gate. Peter couldnt possibly be at the door. Now get back in here and pray!

Im not sure how long the debate continued, but the Bible does tell us that all the while this discussion was taking place, Peter continued knocking.

What a comical irony! Every door had opened to Peter except the door of the house where the believers were praying for the doors to open. This illustrates a powerful point. God has given us the keys to the Kingdom. He has made us the doorkeeper. What we bind in Heaven will be bound on earthwhat we loose in Heaven will be loosed on earth. We have the power and authority to open every door. There is no power on earth that can stand against us, and the very gates of hell itself will not prevail. But there is one door that can always stand in our way and keep us from receiving our miracle. It is the door of unbelief.

So often the answer to our prayers has been standing on our own front porch, but we have missed it because we did not believe that God had actually heard and answered us. The believers were praying for Peter, but apparently they did not believe that God would answer them. The only thing worse than prayerlessness is prayer without expectation.

Unfortunately, many people think of prayer as being merely a religious exercise that appeases Gods need to be talked to. It is a kind of religious duty, like paying a bill that is due. When they pray, they feel better about themselves. When they dont pray, they feel guilty. They seem to think that God keeps a stopwatch and records the minutes they put in, similar to the way a time clock keeps track of employees who are working on their job to receive a paycheck.

Jesus dismissed this mind-set about prayer when He said, And when you pray, do not use vain repetitions as the heathen do. For they think that they will be heard for their many words. Therefore do not be like them. For your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him (Matthew 6:7-8 nkjv).

So if praying long prayers with many words is not the key to receiving an answerthen what is? The answer is simpleFAITH

*📖READING:*
*PROVERBS 13:1-4*

[1]A wise son heareth his father's instruction: but a scorner heareth not rebuke.

[2]A man shall eat good by the fruit of his mouth: but the soul of the transgressors shall eat violence.

[4]The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.

*📖MESSAGE:*
In 2003, NASA’s Space Shuttle Columbia was set to return to Earth after a successful mission. However, during takeoff, a piece of insulation foam had struck the shuttle’s left wing, possibly causing critical damage. Some engineers raised concerns, warning that the damage could be catastrophic. But their warnings were dismissed by superiors who believed it was not serious. Instead of listening carefully and investigating further, NASA officials assured everyone that the shuttle was in good condition. No corrective action was taken. Tragically, as Columbia reentered earth’s atmosphere, the damage caused the spacecraft to break apart, leading to the deaths of all seven astronauts on board. Three failures caused this disaster: refusing to listen to wise counsel, rejecting correction, and speaking without careful thought.

The passage today presents four key principles of acceptable wisdom. First, it shows that a wise son listens to instruction, but a mocker ejects correction. This means those who embrace wisdom grow, but those who refuse advice invite trouble into their lives. Second, wise words bring good fruits, while those who use their mouths unguardedly cause violence. Third, those who watch their speech preserve life, but reckless talk leads to destruction. Finally, diligence leads to abundance, but laziness results in a lack.

Today’s world is noisy, where many talk more than they listen. Although the Holy Bible enjoins believers to be swift to hear and slow to speak, many neither listen to divine instructions nor bridle their tongues. Non-adherence to corrections, wise counsel, instructions and diligence has caused serious problems in many families, careers andministries.

Believers must be ready to listen and hear from God. They must also think deeply before speaking, knowing their words have power and wise speech leads to blessings. The Bible is the source of true wisdom and proper counsel. Godly leaders and parents are givers of good counsel and guidance from whom believers are to seek wisdom. Another piece of counsel that every believer should heed is avoid laziness and embrace hard work. Laziness is uncharacteristic of heaven-bound believers. We are to occupy till Christ comes and do our physical and spiritual duties with utmost sincerity and diligence, knowing that our heavenly Father will reward us in time and in eternity.

*SALVATION*

What an amazing offer from God: “There is forgiveness through the blood of My Son.” Whoever believes this wonderful offer can
accept it. It is not a reward for our services; it is the gift of God through Jesus Christ. It is not given because we are worthy to receive it,
but because it is a gift worthy of God to give.

The gospel of salvation is just this: a simple
offer on God’s side and simple acceptance on ours! An undeserved offer like this is often ignored because people think it must be
earned. But this leads to two serious mistakes.

First, it nurtures the idea of some that something in them entitles them to salvation.

Second, it confirms the gloom of others who
look into their own hearts and lives and find nothing there deserving divine favor. The error lies in looking to themselves instead
of looking to the Savior: “Look to Me, and
be saved, all you ends of the earth” (Isaiah
45:22).

The Lord Jesus Christ was crucified so that “whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). You are
urged to take this wonderful offer. Do not hesitate; only believe! God has promised that with His Son, He
will freely give you all things (Romans 8:32); that He will walk with you and dwell in you (2 Corinthians 6:16), that He will purify your
heart by faith (Acts 15:9), and that He will put His law in your heart and write it in your mind (Hebrews 10:16).

These are the results of salvation in Christ, and not your entitlement to it. Your first step is confident acceptance of an offer that is free, generous, and unconditional.

If I could come as an accredited agent from heaven with an invitation for you, complete with your name and address on it,
you would no doubt accept it. Even so, the Bible, God’s Word, extends an invitation to come to Christ. It does not have your name andaddress, but it says, “whoever,” and that includes you. It says, “all,” and that refers to you. It says, “any,” and that means you. What can be more sure or more free than that?

Salvation without money,
Salvation without price,
Salvation without labor –
Believing will suffice;
Salvation for the guilty
Salvation for the lost;
Salvation for the wretched,
The sad and tempest-tossed.

Our sins were borne by.
Jesus,
The Substitute from God; He took them all, and freed us
From sin’s accursed load.
Our guilt was borne by Jesus,
Who washed the crimson stains
White in His blood most precious,
Until no spot remains.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: THURSDAY, JANUARY 15TH 2026

TOPIC: WHAT IS MAN? V

MEMORISE:
But even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear not therefore: ye are of more value than many sparrows. - (Luke 12:7)

BIBLE READING: MATTHEW 7:9-11 (KJV)

9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?

10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?

11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?

MESSAGE:
What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him? - (Psalm 8:4)

The love that God has for man seems so unbelievable that the psalmist had to ask the question in the passage above. His love is immeasurable and everlasting (Jeremiah 31:3).

He loves us so much that when Adam fell in the garden of Eden, He put together a redemption plan for us so we could be restored to Him. He also gave us the right to sit with Him because of His tremendous love for us. Ephesians 2:6 says that God has made us sit together with Christ in heavenly places.

In Yorubaland where I come from, we often say that the house of the fellow you love is never too far. Because of God's overwhelming love for us, He came all the way from heaven to save us. He loves us so much that even the strands of hair on our heads are special to Him.

Are not two sparrows sold for a farthing? and one of them shall not fall on the ground without your Father. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Fear ye not therefore, ye are of more value than many sparrows. - (Matthew 10:29-31)

Whenever I hear Christians say that they doubt in their hearts whether God will answer their prayers or not, I wonder if they truly know how much God loves them. Romans 8:32 says:

He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

If someone loves you so much that he or she gave you his or her only child, what else is so big that the fellow cannot give to you? I want you to know how much God loves and values you so that when you go to Him in prayer, you will know that you are speaking to someone who is willing to give you anything you ask for and who wants only the best for you (John 14:13-14).

Beloved, God loves you more than you can ever imagine, and it grieves Him when you don't even realise how special you are to Him. Spend quality time with Him daily so you can learn more about His love for you and know the many wonderful things He has prepared for you.

KEY POINT:
God's love for you is immeasurable and everlasting.

*OUR DAILY ENCOURAGER” FOR MONDAY (12-01-2026)**

“…that we through the patience and comfort of the Scriptures might have hope. “ (Rom15:4)

**The Expression of Faith*
*
*Mark 11:20-24*

If you made a request of God and then time passed without results, it is understandable you might start wondering if He ever heard you at all. Do you remember thinking, What happened, Lord? You said that if I asked in faith, You would do it. Didnt You hear me?

Stop to consider this question: Can you think of a time you brought a petition to the Lord and it apparently went unanswered? What was the situation? What did you pray about it? What did you say to others about it? What did you do about it?

I believe one of the most common reasons we experience a crisis of faith is that our words and our attitude get out of line with each other. We tell ourselves that we are praying to the heavenly Father, seeking His will, and requesting His intervention, but what were really doing is just complaining to Him.

We say, Lord, I really messed this up or I dont deserve this. We might pray, How did this happen? Or perhaps we even cry, How did You let this happen? We moan about the situation, reveling in every ounce of anguish, and then petition God to fix it. Is this a prayer that honors God?

In Mark 11:24, Jesus explains that if we ask for something, we should believe in our hearts that it has already been granted. This level of faith is found not in our whines but in our praises. God absolutely wants us to cry out to Him and to lay our petitions at His feet (1 Pet. 5:7). But we must be careful to do so in a way that focuses on Gods glorynot our own.

HERE IS THE MONDAY (12-01-2026) EARLY MORNING SPIRITUAL BREAKFAST.

The Lord Jesus Christ says, "…Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'" (Luk4:4) "But even more blessed are all who hear the word of God and put it into practice." (Luke 11:28:.NLT

Pride hinders praying. Pride compares us to others. Humility compares our lives to Jesus. "...God gives grace to d humble"(1Pet5:5)PHIL2:5-12;2Cor10:12;1Cor4:7
Phil 2:5-12:
Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.NKJV

Phil 2:5-10:
The attitude you should have is the one that Christ Jesus had:
He always had the nature of God,
but he did not think that by force he should try to remain equal with God.
7 Instead of this, of his own free will he gave up all he had,
and took the nature of a servant.
He became like a human being
and appeared in human likeness.
He was humble and walked the path of obedience all the way to death --
his death on the cross.
For this reason God raised him to the highest place above
and gave him the name that is greater than any other name.
And so, in honor of the name of Jesus
all beings in heaven, on earth, and in the world below
will fall on their knees, GNT

James 4:7:
So then, submit yourselves to God. Resist the Devil, and he will run away from you.
GNT

1 Peter 5:5:
Likewise, you who are younger and of lesser rank, be subject to the elders (the ministers and spiritual guides of the church) [giving them due respect and yielding to their counsel]. Clothe (apron) yourselves, all of you, with humility [as the garb of a servant, so that its covering cannot possibly be stripped from you, with freedom from pride and arrogance] toward one another. For God sets Himself against the proud (the insolent, the overbearing, the disdainful, the presumptuous, the boastful) [and He opposes, frustrates, and defeats them], but gives grace (favor, blessing) to the humble. AMP

2 Cor 10:12:
For we dare not class ourselves or compare ourselves with those who commend themselves. But they, measuring themselves by themselves, and comparing themselves among themselves, are not wise.
NKJV

1 Cor 4:7:
For who makes you different from anyone else? What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not? NIV

1 John 2:15-17:
Do not love the world or the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 16 For all that is in the world the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life is not of the Fath byer but is of the world. And the world is passing away, and the lust of it; but he who does the will of God abides forever.
NKJV

Conclusion: Let us us thank God for feeding us spiritually with His word – after fasting physically for some hours! Let us continue to pray as we are led by the Holy Spirit and in line with the inspiration with inspiration we derived from the Bible references we have just read! In Jesus name ! Say amen!
