TODAY'S LESSON

A. MEMORY VERSE: "For Godly sorrow worketh repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world worketh death". 2Corinthians 7-10

BIBLE TEXT: EZEKIEL 18:27-32
27. Again, when the wicked man turneth away from his wickedness that he hath committed, and doeth that which is lawful and right, he shall save his soul alive.
28. Because he considereth, and turneth away from all his transgressions that he hath committed, he shall surely live, he shall not die.
29. Yet saith the house of Israel, The way of the Lord is not equal. O house of Israel, are not my ways equal? are not your ways unequal?
30. Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, saith the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.
31. Cast away from you all your transgressions, whereby ye have transgressed; and make you a new heart and a new spirit: for why will ye die, O house of Israel?
32. For I have no pleasure in the death of him that dieth, saith the Lord GOD: wherefore turn yourselves, and live ye.

LESSON INTRODUCTION:
Sin entered the world through Adam along with death which is the penalty for sin - Romans 5:12. The guilt and penalty of sin has been transferred from generation to generation to all descendant of Adam; that is, all mankind.
According to Romans 5:23 all have sinned and come short of God's glory. The soul that sins shall die Ezekiel 18:4, so all deserve to die. God however in his infinite mercy and love for mankind has made a way of escape from death by sending His son Jesus Christ to die for the forgiveness of sins. John 3:16, Matthew 1:21.
This salvation and its benefits can only be accessed through repentance and turning to Jesus. Act.5:30-31.

D. TEACHING METHOD: The leader should use lecture method and also more of interactive methods.

E. TIME MANAGEMENT: Share the teaching time, use suggested time schedule.

LESSON OUTLINE ONE

WHAT IS REPENTANCE?
1. To repent is to have a change of mind, a change of heart or a change of direction.
2. It is like a driver going in a wrong direction who suddenly realizes his error, make a U-turn and faces the right direction. The prodigal son who abandoned his farther in Luke15:17-21 changed his mind and returned to the father.
3. To repent is to turn away from sin and turn to righteousness.
Zacchaeus repented of his sinful ways and Jesus confirmed that salvation had come into his house. Luke 19:8-9
4. To repent is to turn away from serving the devil and letting Jesus Christ become the master. Saul the persecutor of the church - Act 8:3, repented and became Paul the servant of Jesus Christ. Romans 1:1

LESSONS OUTLINE TWO

RESULTS OF REPENTANCE.
1. Forgiveness of sins. Acts 5:31
2. God gives a new heart. Ezekiel. 36:26
3. Transformation. Ephesians 4:22-24
4. Deliverance from woes and curses. Galatians 3:13-14
5. Access to exceeding great and precious promises. 2 Peter 1:4
6. Having access to new nature and new abilities 2 corinthians 5:17

ACTIVITY: List few names of those that refused the offer of salvation in the Bible

SUMMARY:When you repent from your sin, you would be referred to His scene (divine locationof His mercy).

CONCLUSION: The person that refuse to repent will perish - Luke 13:5. However, God does not want anyone to perish but that all should come to repentance - 2 Peter 3:9. That is why Luke 15:10 says that Angels rejoice in heaven over one sinner that repents.
Therefore repentance should not be delayed. Repent NOW!!!

BIBLE PASSAGE: ACTS 17:22-27

22 Then Paul stood in the midst of Mars' hill, and said, Ye men of Athens, I perceive that in all things ye are too superstitious.

23 For as I passed by, and beheld your devotions, I found an altar with this inscription, TO THE UNKNOWN GOD. Whom therefore ye ignorantly worship, him declare I unto you.

24 God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands;

25 Neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

27 That they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

INTRODUCTION
Within all of us, there exists a strong desire to be known and to know others. More importantly, there is a void in every individual - a quest to know their creator, even if they are not professed believers in God. The apostle Paul expressed his desire to truly know God (Philippians 3:10). It is therefore, important to address the issue of seeking and truly knowing God.

LESSON OUTLINES
1. SEEKING GOD IS INEVITABLE
2. KEYS TO TRULY KNOWING GOD

SEEKING GOD IS INEVITABLE

A. Our desire to seek and know more of God is the essence of true life (John 17:3; Jeremiah 50:4).

B. The thoughts of God should be paramount in our minds because they will determine the value and direction of our lives (Psalm 48:9; 63:6).

C. Seeking God, then, is an ongoing responsibility and privilege for all Christians (Job 5:8).

D. Therefore, Scriptures admonish us to seek God:

i. Wholeheartedly (Deuteronomy 4:29);

ii. Early in life (Psalm 63:1; Eccl. 12:1);

iii. Continually (Psalm 105:4)

iv. With joy (Psalm 70:4);

v. By prayer and supplications,

vi. With fasting (Daniel 9:3);

vii. Through His righteousness (Matthew 6:33) and

viii. By studying His word (John 5:39).

E. Assuredly, those who seek God under the conditions stated above shall:

i. Find Him (Jeremiah 29:13)

ii. Be satisfied (Matthew 5:6)

iii. Understand all things (Proverbs 28:5)

iv. Not lack any good thing (Psalm 34:10).

CLASS ACTIVITY 1
The class should mention other ways through which we can seek God

KEYS TO TRULY KNOWING GOD

A. In an attempt to know God, we must:

1. Receive Jesus Christ into our lives (John 1:12): Jesus makes it clear that He alone is the way to Heaven and personal knowledge of God (John 14:6-9).

ii. Understand that the Bible is God's word and a revelation of Himself, His promises, and His will (John 1:1; Psalm 119:105). The Bible is essentially a love letter written to us from a loving God who created us to know Him intimately (2Timothy 3:14-17).

iii. Be committed to obeying what we read in the Scriptures (Titus 1:16; John 15:14). We were created to do good works (Ephesians 2:10). Not only must we read and understand God's word, but we must also apply doctrines obediently and remain faithful (James 1:21-22).

iv. Be committed to prayer, personal devotion, fellowship with brethren (Hebrews 10:25) and always worship God in spirit and in truth (John 4:23-24).

v. Allow the Holy Spirit to lead and guide us always (Revelation 8:14, 26-27).

B. Then, our lives can be filled with God, and we can experience knowing Him intimately.

CLASS ACTIVITY 2
Students should share with the class keys that have increased their knowledge of God

SUMMARY
Seeking God is inevitable, and there are ways to truly know God.

CONCLUSION
If we genuinely hunger and thirst to know God, He will reveal Himself to us.

CLOSING PRAYER
Father, empower me to pay the price to truly seek and know You.

ASSIGNMENT
Prayerfully follow the guidelines in today's lesson and work on yourself to seek God daily. No mark.

And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not. Isaiah 58:11 KJV

Pray this…

Father, let the above scripture speaks over our lives and our household in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL

DATE: SUNDAY, 12TH JUNE, 2022

TOPIC: WORKERS ARE BLESSED

MEMORY VERSE
For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister. Hebrews 6:10

BIBLE READING
Hebrews 6:9-20 (KJV)
9. But, beloved, we are persuaded better things of you, and things that accompany salvation, though we thus speak.

10. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.

11. And we desire that every one of you do shew the same diligence to the full assurance of hope unto the end:

12. That ye be not slothful, but followers of them who through faith and patience inherit the promises.

13. For when God made promise to Abraham, because he could swear by no greater, he sware by himself,

14. Saying, Surely blessing I will bless thee, and multiplying I will multiply thee.

15. And so, after he had patiently endured, he obtained the promise.

16. For men verily swear by the greater: and an oath for confirmation is to them an end of all strife.

17. Wherein God, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath:

18. That by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for God to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us:

19. Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

20. Whither the forerunner is for us entered, even Jesus, made an high priest for ever after the order of Melchisedec.

MESSAGE
In the memory verse for today, the Bible says that God is not unrighteous to forget all the work and labour that you do in His name. Being a worker in the vineyard of God can be tough sometimes. Many a time, you have to make personal sacrifices of your resources just to ensure that the work of God keeps going.
"At his day thou shalt give him his hire, neither
shall the sun go down upon it; for he is poor,
and setteth his heart upon it: lest he cry
against thee unto the LORD, and it be sin
unto thee". Deuteronomy 24:15
Since the Lord has said that no one should owe their workers wages, He will surely pay yours. I can say that confidently because | have been working for Him full time for over 40 years now.

Many years ago, I travelled abroad for a programme. Whenever I went to that city, there was a particular brother who would always pick me up at the airport. On our way to where I would stay, there was a car shop where second-hand Rolls Royce cars were sold and l usually told the brother driving me that one day, l would go in there and buy one for myself. On this particular trip, I said the same thing when we passed the place then shortly after that, I saw a boutique advertising a sale (discounts); I told him to stop so that I could buy some clothes. When we got into the store, the discounted prices of the clothes on sale were still too high for me, so l left the place annoyed. "I thought these people said they were doing sales" I complained. The brother laughed. He laughed because I who said I would buy a Rolls Royce could not even afford clothes that were on sale at reduced prices. I then turned to God and said, "You are my employer. This man is laughing at your employee, so please do something about it". The next time I visited the city, another brother was waiting for me with a Rolls Royce car. The brother came to me and said, "Daddy, I brought this car for you".
I want you to challenge God today-tell Him whatever it is that you need. I am joining my faith with every true worker of God that says this prayer today. My God will answer your prayer, in Jesus' name.

KEY POINT
God is not unrighteous to forget your labour of love.

BIBLE IN A YEAR
Psalms 32-33

HYMN 24 THROUGH THE LOVE OF GOD OUR SAVIOUR

1. Through the love of God our Saviour,
All will be well;
Free and changeless is His favour,
All, all is well:
Precious is the blood that healed us;
Perfect is the grace that sealed us:
Strong the hand stretched forth to shield us,
All must be well.

2. Though we pass through tribulation,
All will be well;
Ours is such a full salvation,
All, all is well:
Happy still in God confiding;
Fruitful if in Christ abiding;
Holy through the Spirit's guiding;
All must be well.

3. We expect a bright tomorrow;
All will be well;
Faith can sing through days of sorrow,
All, all is well:
On our Father's love relying,
Jesus every need supplying,
Or in living or in dying,
All must be well.

OPEN HEAVENS DAILY DEVOTIONAL 2022.
DATE: MONDAY JANUARY 31ST, 2022.
TOPIC: WONDERS OF DIVINE ANGER

MEMORISE:
“For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.” Deuteronomy 4:24

READ: 2 Samuel 6:1-7 (KJV)
1. Again, David gathered together all the chosen men of Israel, thirty thousand.
2. And David arose, and went with all the people that were with him from Baale of Judah, to bring up from thence the ark of God, whose name is called by the name of the LORD of hosts that dwelleth between the cherubims.
3. And they set the ark of God upon a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab that was in Gibeah; and Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, drave the new cart.
4. And they brought it out of the house of Abinadab which was at Gibeah, accompanying the ark of God; and Ahio went before the ark.
5. And David and all the house of Israel played before the LORD on all manner of instruments made of fir wood, even on harps, and on psalteries, and on timbrels, and on cornets, and on cymbals.
6. And when they came to Nachon's threshingfloor, Uzzah put forth his hand to the ark of God, and took hold of it; for the oxen shook it.
7. And the anger of the LORD was kindled against Uzzah; and God smote him there for his error; and there he died by the ark of God.

MESSAGE:
The serious attribute of God that I have emphatically taught people not to overlook is divine anger. Truly, the Almighty God is Love (1 John 4:8); however, we must never forget that He is also a Consuming Fire (Deuteronomy 4:24). Any time I say this, some people argue that the Bible reference belongs to the Old Testament dispensation and we are now in the New Testament. Amazingly, such people did not read their New Testament thoroughly enough to discover that even Hebrews 12:29 says “For our God is a consuming fire.” This is one of the wonders of divine anger, because how can the God of love be a Consuming Fire at the same time? We need to remember that it was divine anger against the devil that made way for man’s deliverance from satanic oppression. (Genesis 3:14).

Divine anger against the devil after the fall is full of the wonders of God’s love for man - that the man may be redeemable, unlike the fallen angels. He cast the man and the woman out of the garden so they would not have access to the tree of life in their fallen state, which would have made them irredeemable like the angels. Thus, God cast them out as He embarked on a redemption process that was centred on Jesus dying for the sins of man, His resurrection and second coming to rapture the saints. When a child of God falls into sin, “God does not spare the divine rod. Why? It is because God would not want him or her to miss the bliss of His Kingdom. This is why God punishes His erring children. Hebrews 12:7-8 says:
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

Whenever the Lord chastens you, accept it in faith, repent and amend your ways. His fire refines us when we yield to His correction but consumes when we choose to remain in our sins. Repent and forsake all your sins today, then confess Jesus Christ as your Lord and Saviour so as not to experience God as a consuming Fire.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please help me to receive your correction joyfully so that I can laugh at the end of it all in Your Kingdom, in the mighty name of Jesus.

HYMN 26 - WE ARE NEVER, NEVER WEARY OF THE GRAND OLD SONG
1. We are never, never weary of the grand old song,
Glory to God, Hallelujah!
We can sing it loud as ever, with our faith more strong,
Glory to God, Halleluyah!

CHORUS:
O, the children of the Lord have right to shout and to sing,
For the way is growing bright, and our souls are on the wings,
We are going by and by to the palace of the King,
Glory to God Halleluyah.

2. We are lost amid the rapture of redeeming love,
Glory to God, Halleluyah!
We are rising on its pinions to the hills above,
Glory to God, Halleluyah!

3. We are going to a palace that is built of gold,
Glory to God, Halleluyah!
Where the King in all His splendour we shall soon behold,
Glory to God, Halleluyah!

4. There we'll shout redeeming mercy in a glad new song,
Glory to God, Halleluyah!
There we'll sing the praise of Jesus with the blood washed throng,
Glory to God, Halleluyah!

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Leviticus 1-4.

BEFORE YOU START THE NEW WEEK ….

Remember that you’re already chosen by HIS grace.

1. As from today, when needs arise, you will be remembered.

2. When it is time for favour, you will be remembered.

3. When it is time to choose the person to be distinguished, you will be chosen ahead of others.

4. When it is time to choose the person to be given opportunities for great impact and results, you will be chosen.

5. When it is time to be chosen for higher levels and greater results, you will be chosen.

6. Peter did not tell Jesus to choose him, he did not make any efforts to be chosen, but he was chosen.

7. God says, you will be chosen by grace. You may not ask for it, you may not be planning for it but you will be chosen.

8. You will be chosen for career increase, high patronage, etc. You will be chosen ahead of others.

9. When a man is chosen like Jesus chose Peter, great results that were never bargained for become a reality, and he excels despite having rivals that could have been chosen as well.

10. When a man is chosen by God, people may not like you, but they can’t deny the fact that you have been chosen already.

Jesus saw two ships by the lake of Gennesaret, one belonging to Peter and the other belonging to James and John. Jesus needed a ship to use as a platform to reach the multitude, and He chose Peter’s ship. The need that arose led Jesus into choosing Peter’s ship, after which Peter got a large haul of fish. Simply put, a need arose, and Peter was remembered and chosen for a miracle.

May you be well position for notable and undeniable miracles in Jesus name. 🙏
