INTRODUCTION

Many people are not far from the church, yet they are far from Christ. They pray, fast, give offerings, and faithfully attend religious gatherings, believing that these activities are enough to earn God's acceptance. They are respectable before men but remain unreconciled to God.

In Luke 18:9-14, Jesus addressed those "who trusted in themselves that they were righteous." Through the parable of the Pharisee and the tax collector, He exposed the danger of self-righteousness and revealed that salvation belongs, not to those who boast in their goodness, but to those who humble themselves before God.

Friend, if you have been depending on your morality, religious works, or church membership to save you, this message is for you. God is not asking you to become more religious; He is calling you to receive His Son, Jesus Christ.

PART I: THE PROBLEM
Isaiah 64:6; Romans 3:23

The greatest problem in your life is not poverty, sickness, or failure. Your greatest problem is sin. Sin separates every person from God, no matter how respectable or religious he may appear.

The Pharisee believed that fasting, giving, and religious discipline made him acceptable before God. He compared himself with other people and concluded that he was righteous. Many still make that same mistake today. They say, "I have never committed adultery," "I don't drink," or "I have always attended church."

But God's standard is not your neighbour's life; His standard is His own holiness. The Bible says, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God." It also declares that all our righteousnesses are like filthy rags before Him. No amount of good works can wash away sin.

My friend, if you are trusting in your goodness instead of Christ, you are trusting in what cannot save.

PART II: THE PROVISION
Ephesians 2:8-9; Philippians 3:7-9

Because man could not save himself, God provided a perfect Saviour. Jesus Christ came into the world, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again on the third day.

Salvation is not a reward for good people; it is a gift of grace for guilty sinners. That is why the Bible says, "By grace are ye saved through faith... not of works."

The Apostle Paul once trusted in his religious achievements, but after meeting Christ, he counted them as loss. He discovered that the righteousness God accepts is found only in Jesus Christ.

Friend, stop trying to earn what God freely gives. What your good works cannot accomplish, the blood of Jesus has already accomplished on the cross.

PART III: THE PLEA
Romans 10:9-10; 1 John 1:9

Now God is calling you to respond.

Do not allow pride to keep you from salvation. Do not say, "I am already a good person." Good people need Jesus just as much as bad people do. The tax collector was forgiven because he humbled himself and cried for mercy.

If you will confess your sins and place your faith in Jesus Christ today, God will forgive you, cleanse you, and make you His child. He is not looking for perfect people; He is looking for humble hearts that will trust in His Son.

Tomorrow is not promised. Today is the day of salvation. Come to Christ while His invitation is still open.

CONCLUSION

Religion without Christ cannot save. Morality without Christ cannot save. Church membership without Christ cannot save. Only Jesus saves.

Do not leave this message trusting in yourself. Trust in the finished work of Christ. The One who died for your sins is ready to forgive you, receive you, and give you eternal life if you will come to Him today.

ALTAR CALL

Have you been depending on your good works instead of God's grace? Have you been trusting in religion instead of a relationship with Jesus Christ? Today, lay aside every confidence in yourself and come to the Saviour. He died for your sins, rose again for your justification, and is able to save you completely. Come to Him now by faith.

SINNER'S PRAYER

Lord Jesus, I come to You today because I know I cannot save myself. I confess that I am a sinner, and I repent of all my sins. I believe that You died on the cross for me, shed Your precious blood for my salvation, and rose again on the third day. Today I receive You as my Lord and personal Saviour. Please forgive me, cleanse me, and make me a new creature. Help me to follow You faithfully for the rest of my life. Thank You for saving me. In Jesus' name, Amen.

*INTRODUCTION: THE ARCHITECTURE OF THE FLAME*
To understand the dimension of the *"Consuming Fire,"* we must first look at its *Architecture*. Across the pages of Scripture, this description of Jehovah is not a poetic exaggeration, a cosmetic metaphor, or a mere literary coincidence. It is an uncompromised spiritual reality. The nature of God has not mutated between the testaments; He did not become soft under Grace, He simply moved closer!
This fire is the *Parameter* of His uncreated presence. The revelation is bookended by the two great leaders who defined their respective eras: Moses (The Law) and Paul (Grace). Moses begins his encounter in a physical fire (*Exodus 3:2*) and exits declaring *Deuteronomy 4:24*, *"For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God."* Paul begins his encounter in a blinding fire on the Damascus road (*Acts 9*) and seals his deepest theological epistle with *Hebrews 12:29*, echoing Moses exactly: *"For our God is a consuming fire."* The Law started and ended in fire; Grace started and ended in fire. Today, we are going to fish out the raw mechanics of how to handle this holy heat.

*I. THE PROTOCOL OF THE FLAME: THE RECEPTION (THE ENTRY POINT)*
*Scripture:* *Deuteronomy 4:24; Acts 2:1; Luke 24:49*
The fire of God does not visit a vacuum, nor does it pour down upon an empty space. Heaven never wastes its resources on an unaligned vessel; there is a strict *Protocol* that must be observed to receive the flame.

* *A. THE SACRIFICE ON THE ALTAR (**Deuteronomy 4:24**)**
When Moses declared in Deuteronomy 4:24 that God’s fire is a jealous fire, he was establishing that the flame demands total, exclusive ownership. Fire in Scripture never falls on an empty platform; it only falls where there is a **Sacrifice** laid bare. A cold, prayerless life provides absolutely no fuel for heaven. The tongue is only ignited after the body becomes a living sacrifice.

* **B. THE SYNC OF THE UPPER ROOM (**Acts 2:1**)**
Look at *Acts 2:1*, the Bible notes that before the fire fell, they were *"with one accord in one place."* Fire responds to absolute structural alignment. When your heart, your motives, your business practices, and your hunger line up in perfect **Sync** with the Word, you become an instant conductor for the celestial flame. God does not ignite chaos or bless rebellion.

* **C. THE STAY OF THE TARRYING CHAMBER (**Luke 24:49**)**
Jesus commanded them in *Luke 24:49* to tarry until they were endued with power. This fire is not captured on the run or while multitasking with the world. It requires a disciplined, desperate **Stay** in the place of prayer until the match of heaven strikes your spirit.

*II. THE PRESERVATION OF THE ALTAR: THE MANAGEMENT (THE SUSTAINABILITY)*
*Scripture:* *Leviticus 6:13; Deuteronomy 4:23; Acts 1:8*

Catching the fire at a Pentecostal rally is an event, but keeping the fire burning on Monday morning is a systematic discipline. Left unmanaged, an altar automatically defaults to cold ashes. This requires *Preservation*.

* **A. THE SUPPLY OF THE WOOD (**Leviticus 6:13**)**
The ancient, unalterable statute of *Leviticus 6:13* declares, *"The fire shall ever be burning upon the altar; it shall never go out."* The priests managed this by physically bringing a fresh **Supply** of wood every single morning. Your morning **Supply** is systematic secret prayer and a deep, daily consumption of the Word. If you starve the altar of daily intimacy, the flame suffocates.

* **B. THE SEPARATION FROM THE ENVIRONMENT (**Deuteronomy 4:23**)**
Right before Moses revealed the consuming fire, he warned in *Deuteronomy 4:23*, *"Take heed unto yourselves, lest ye forget the covenant."* You must actively protect the perimeter of your altar. You cannot manage the fire of Pentecost while hosting the chaff of malice, toxic gossip, and fleshly associations. Purity requires a total **Separation** from the pollutants of the world.

* **C. THE SERVICE OF THE KINGDOM (**Acts 1:8**)**
According to *Acts 1:8*, the fire was not given for personal decoration or emotional entertainment, but for global witnessing. Fire stays alive when it is actively moving and burning things up. Deploying the fire to perform kingdom **Service**—healing the sick, breaking yokes, and executing your calling with world-class standards—intensifies the flame!

*III. THE PERIL OF THE FIRE: THE DESTRUCTION (THE SCRUTINY)*
*Scripture:* *Acts 5:1-11; Matthew 3:12; Luke 3:17; 1 Corinthians 3:13-15*
We must look at the most dangerous, heavy, and sobering truth of this revelation. This is the *Peril of the Fire*. Our God is a consuming fire, and fire is completely impartial; it does not respect persons. The exact same temperature that purifies the gold will utterly incinerate the wood!

* **A. THE STRIKE AGAINST THE HYPOCRITE (**Acts 5:1-11**)**
In *Acts 5:1-11*, Ananias and Sapphira brought "strange fire" into a high-voltage Pentecostal environment, trying to mix a secret life of deception with the presence of the Holy Ghost. The fire did not bless them—a swift divine **Strike** dropped them dead on the spot! Hypocrisy inside a fire-filled zone turns the Comforter into an executioner.

* **B. THE SEPARATION OF THE CHAFF (**Matthew 3:12 / Luke 3:17**)**
John the Baptist explicitly warns in *Matthew 3:12* and *Luke 3:17* that Christ’s winnowing fan is already in His hand to thoroughly purge His floor. The fire is legally budgeted to destroy the chaff (bad character, pride, rebellion). If you refuse to let the Holy Spirit execute a deep **Separation** from your sin, the fire will execute a brutal **Separation** by burning you *with* the chaff you refuse to let go of.

* **C. THE SCRUTINY OF THE ALTAR (**1 Corinthians 3:13-15**)**
Paul issues a stark warning in *1 Corinthians 3:13*, declaring that *"every man's work shall be made manifest... because it shall be revealed by fire."* If your business, your ministry, or your service is built on the "wood, hay, and stubble" of self-glory and low standards, the **Scrutiny** of the fire will reduce it to nothing. You may barely escape into heaven saved, but you will stand empty-handed because your life's work was completely incinerated under divine **Scrutiny**.

*CONCLUSION*
The dimension of the Consuming Fire is an active, present reality. Imagerically, the visual picture hasn't changed from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant—only the location has changed! Moses saw the fire *on* the bush; Pentecost means *you are now the bush*, and the fire is *on your tongue*!

1. You must observe the *Protocol* of the Flame through **Sacrifice**, **Sync**, and **Stay**;
2. You must enforce the *Preservation* of the Altar through **Supply**, **Separation**, and **Service**;
3. You must respect the *Peril* of the Fire through the **Strike**, **Separation**, and **Scrutiny**.

*THE CALL TO SALVATION:*
To those who are playing games with God—you cannot cheat a consuming fire. Your secret sins and compromises cannot survive His presence. But the same fire that destroys the chaff wants to purify your destiny today. Open your heart, surrender your life to Jesus Christ right now, and let Him purge your altar from every dead work.

*CONFESSION:*
"The Lord my God is a **Consuming Fire**. My life is His altar, my tongue is His branch! I receive His fire through **Sacrifice**, I maintain it through daily **Supply**, and my works will stand the test of His holy **Scrutiny** in Jesus' Name!"

*REVIVAL FIRE PRAYER POINTS*
* *Prayer 1:* "O Lord, let your fire fall fresh upon my altar today! I refuse to carry a cold tongue or operate on human talent. By the power of the Holy Ghost, I enforce the protocol of heaven over my life; ignite my secret place with a raw, unquenchable baptism of your celestial flame in Jesus' Name!"
* *Prayer 2:* "Every morning wood required to sustain my flame, I receive the grace for consistent **Supply**! I evict the spirit of prayerlessness, spiritual laziness, and word-anorexia from my routine. My altar shall not lack fuel, and my fire shall never go out by day or by night!"
* *Prayer 3:* "Every foundational chaff and hidden hypocrisy (*Ẹṣẹ Àbùkù*) trying to bring a divine **Strike** against my destiny, I command you to be separated from my life right now! I refuse to be consumed with the chaff. Let the winnowing fan of the Holy Ghost thoroughly purge my heart today!"
* *Prayer 4:* "I fence my spiritual perimeter against every environmental pollutant! You spirit of compromise, toxic associations, and fleshly text messages assigned to suffocate my flame, your time is up! By the power of the Holy Ghost, I enforce a total **Separation** between my altar and your corruption!"
* *Prayer 5:* "Father, let my life's work, my business, and my ministry be built to an international, kingdom standard! I refuse to labor in vain or build with wood, hay, and stubble. When my exploits pass through the fiery **Scrutiny** of 1 Corinthians 3, I decree I shall not stand empty-handed; my works shall endure and command eternal rewards in Jesus' Name!"
