TOPIC: Rivers of Living Water

MEMORISE:
“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues.” – (Mark 16:17)

READ: John 7:37-38 (KJV)
37. In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

38. He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water.

MESSAGE:
Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a spiritual experience that is highly misunderstood in Christendom today. It was prophesied in Joel 2:28:
“And it shall come to pass afterward, That I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; And your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions.”

It was promised by John the Baptist in Matthew 3:11 “I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but he that cometh after ... shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire”. This was then actualised by Jesus Christ when He said “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you...” (Acts 1:8). This is the means by which the Holy Spirit initiates Christians into spiritual communion with Jesus Christ, with the evidence of speaking in tongue, and for the purpose of equipping them for God’s service.

Joel 2:28 and Acts 1:8 clearly state that the outpouring of the Holy Spirit gives access to some supernatural gifts and abilities like prophecy, healing and vision.

To receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit, one must develop an insatiable hunger and thirst for His infilling (John 7:37-38). In the scripture above, Jesus said that anyone who believes in Him as the Holy Spirit Baptiser, will become a source of living waters. He also said that those who drink from Him will never thirst again (John 4:14). Acts 2:38-39 says “Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. For the promise is unto you...” God provided the Holy Spirit as a means of solving all human problems. However, we must first repent of all our sins, accept Jesus as our Lord and Saviour and then receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the evidence speaking in tongues. May the living waters flow through you to the whole world in the mighty name Jesus.

PRAYER POINT:
Father, please fill me with the Holy Spirit that Your power may flow through me, in the mighty name of Jesus.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR:
Psalms 56, 120, 140-142

HYMNAL:
Hymn 19 - My hope is built on nothing less
1. My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness;
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus name.

CHORUS:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

2. When darkness seems to veil His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace;
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

CHORUS:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

3. His oath, His covenant, and blood,
Support me in the whelming flood;
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

CHORUS:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

4. When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh, may I then in Him be found;
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne.

CHORUS:
On Christ, the solid Rock, I stand;
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

*I will Appreciate a 2-day permission to be absent from work sir..* My sister will be getting
married..

I haven't finished when my boss shouted... Who will clear d files on ur table? Who will do dis and
dat? I'm sorry, u can't go.... I felt bad but important...

One day, we lost a colleague of ours....

Everybody was summoned, as the speaker addressed other employees who were sobbing... "A minute silence to honour her.." he said...

In less than 30seconds, he said May her soul Rest in Peace, Amen. U can all go back to work...

Then I asked my boss, "Sir, who will clear her table and do all she was doing?

He smiled and said, "someone will resume with us next week to take her place...."

I used to think I was irreplaceable but this has thought me that if I were d one who died, someone else would resume to clear d files.

Hmmmmmmmmm!

- To those who shout at people at work and make them feel irrelevant, be Careful you're just a colleague.

- To those who act in church like without them things can't be done properly, ask Elijah; God has over 7000 better servants waiting to step in.

- To all who are so pompous and feel d world revolves round them and should be treated with so much respect they don't give to others.....go ask Nebuchadnezzar; he was disgracefully humbled.

- To those who are so disrespectful to constituted authority by virtue of knowledge/experience/status etc....watch out you'll be on the side of authority soon; expect more than what you've done/given because it will always come back to u.

- Someday u will go..(Death..Retirement.. Resignation.. Promotion.. Transfer.. Relocation....)

And guess what? Work will continue...

- Church will wax stronger....

- Family like water will find its level...

- Persons/Friends will adjust well in good time...

- That thing u think cannot be done without u will not die nor suffer.

It is like Military barracks....Soldiers go Soldiers come but Barracks/Military base remain.. Dey might miss ur ideas, But trust me, U ARE Not IRREPLACEABLE.

*Experience has shown that when your kind/type leaves the system is when greater opportunities open for others.*

As a matter of fact they'll not miss ur unpleasant nature but make a mockery of it at their leisure.

Do what u can and let others do theirs.

You're NOT Special than others; it's just a Privilege that you're enjoying.

Be calm,
Be submissive
Be Humble
Be Reasonable
Be Accountable
Be Respectful.

Show Love to others even wen they make mistakes.....

Your nature is what you're remembered for, It is the memory of you that remains with the people.

Bad nature easily overshadows good ones.

Therefore, watch your actions because what we have here is really a small WORLD!

*The World is like a Small Garden....take care of ur bit to Glorify God.*

DATE: SUNDAY JULY 9TH 2017

THEME: THE HEALING TOUCH

Memorise:

And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Matthew 8:3

Read: Matthew 8:1-3

8:1 When he was come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed him.

8:2 And, behold, there came a l***r and worshipped him, saying, Lord, if thou wilt, thou canst make me clean.

8:3 And Jesus put forth his hand, and touched him, saying, I will; be thou clean. And immediately his leprosy was cleansed.

Message:

There are many methods the God of all flesh uses in healing people. A l***r once came to Jesus saying, “Lord, I know you can heal me, but I don’t know if it is your will”. Jesus touched him and said, it is My will to heal you; be clean”, and immediately, he received his healing. Through this encounter, we understand that the God of all flesh can heal you by His touch. Some people find it easy to believe that God can touch them spiritually, but they cannot believe that He can touch them physically. Yes, God still touches people physically today. Many years ago, we went to church on a Sunday morning, and after the service, we returned home to rest before going back to church for worker’s meeting in the afternoon. In those days, if you were late for worker’s meeting, you would be in serious trouble with my father-in-the-Lord. On this particular day, after the morning service, we came back home to rest. We decided that nobody would lie down lest we slept. Afterward, I went to pray in my room and fell asleep in the process. Then all of a sudden, I felt a strong hand pressing my leg down and I awoke. I glanced at my wristwatch and screamed because we were almost running late! I thought my wife woke me up, so I went to find her to thank her. However, when I got downstairs, expecting to meet her ready and waiting, I met her and the children fast asleep! I then realized I had received a divine touch. Today, the Lord will touch you physically and deliver your healing to you in Jesus’ Name!

On the other hand, the God of all flesh can just speak a word, and you will receive your healing. Hence, Psalm 107:20 says,
“He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.”

When the Lord Jesus Christ was going to heal Bartimaeus, he did not touch him but only spoke a word, and the blind man received his sight (Mark 10:52). He still does this today. During a holy Ghost Service we had, the lord announced that a woman with cervical cancer was in the congregation, and that the cancer was gone, adding that she should go and confirm with her doctor. Indeed, such a woman was there, and she received the word. She went to her doctor for a check-up, and she discovered that her cancer was indeed gone. Are you sick? Receive your healing now in Jesus’ Name.

Action Point:

Thank God for the success of past Holy Ghost conventions. Pray that this year’s Convention will be the greatest ever experienced.

HYMN 5: THE GREAT PHYSICIAN

1. The great Physician now is near,
The sympathizing Jesus;
He speaks the drooping heart to cheer,
Oh, hear the voice of Jesus.

Refrain:
Sweetest note in seraph song,
Sweetest Name on mortal tongue;
Sweetest carol ever sung,
Jesus, blessed Jesus.

2. Your many sins are all forgiv’n,
Oh, hear the voice of Jesus;
Go on your way in peace to heav’n,
And wear a crown with Jesus.
[Refrain]

3. All glory to the dying Lamb!
I now believe in Jesus;
I love the blessed Saviour’s Name,
I love the Name of Jesus.

4. His Name dispels my guilt and fear,
No other name but Jesus;
Oh, how my soul delights to hear
The charming Name of Jesus.

RCCG SUNDAY SCHOOL MANUAL

LESSON FORTY-FIVE

SUNDAY, 9TH JULY 2017

TOPIC: THE CHRISTIAN MISSIONARY

MEMORY VERSE:
‘’And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature" - Mark 16:15

BIBLE PASSAGE: Matthew 28:19-20

INTRODUCTION:
The business of missions does not exclude the Almighty God, the Lord Jesus Christ, the Holy Spirit and the Church. Mission is a must and all real Christians should be interested.

LESSON OUTLINES
1. Christian missions and home support
2. Lessons from the macedonian and philippian churches
3. You can be personally involved

CHRISTIAN MISSIONS AND HOME SUPPORT
Missionaries are those Christians sent across geographical and cultural boundaries to proclaim the gospel. The take off point is usually from an established body of Christ. It automatically follows, therefore, that the upkeep of the missionary there is the sole responsibility of other members of the body at home. It is written that if a member suffers, other members suffer also (1Corinthians 12:25-26). Christians are supposed to be co-labourers together with God (1Corinthians 3:8-9). Support in prayers and provision of physical needs for the missionaries on the field are the responsibilities of Christians at home. This is missions by proxy. There, on the mission field, it is expected of the missionary to concentrate in order to achieve the purpose for which God has sent him or her (Matthew 6:20-21). Any distractions whatsoever may hinder the speed of his or her primary assignments. Hence, the need for active and prompt home supports.

LESSONS FROM THE MACEDONIAN AND PHILIPPIAN CHURCHES
The Macedonian churches submitted themselves to the will of God and they willingly gave of their substances for the cause of the gospel. Similarly, the Philippians church communicated their substances with Apostle Paul, their gifts were sacrifices acceptable and of sweet odour unto God (Philippians 4:15-18). The unique ability of the Philippians chur ch to give to the mission field as compared to other churches at that time was also commended by Paul (Philippians 4:19).

YOU CAN BR PERSONALLY INVOLVED
The woman of Shunem in her spiritual perception found out the man of God (2Kings 4:8-10). God needed a place for the man of God to lay his head. Both she and her husband agreed to make a chamber for the man of God and put there some essential things needed by him. Priscilla and Aquila, a wonderful Christian couple, were helpers of Apostle Paul (Romans 16:3-4).

CONCLUSION:
It is obvious that not all born again Christians can be out there on the mission field but all can be involved either directly or by proxy. God is still calling today. Whosoever is willing should respond. You can decide to begin to support a missionary, at least.

QUESTIONS
1. Give the biblical support for missions and home support.

2. What is peculiar about the Macedonian and Philippians churches in relation to missions?

3. Give two examples of families involved in mission by proxy, in the early Church.
