Good evening brethren. It is an honour for me to be in your midst tonight.
I appreciate the leadership of the Christ Gospel Apostolic Church Campus Fellowship(TASUED CHAPTER) for the privilege giving to me to share the word of God with intellectuals like you. God bless you all in Jesus name.
If you are with us tonight, shout hallelujah.
I am grateful to God for youths like you who are still yearning for God at this critical time. Many have lost their faith and focus, especially with the covid-19 scourge . That is why God will have us consider today's message because it is a timely one.
To be sure that we are on the same page, what is the topic for today's message?
The Rechabite Generation
Our textual source is Jeremiah 35:1-19. 1The word which came to Jeremiah from the Lord in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, saying, 2Go to the house of the Rechabites, speak to them, and bring them into the house of the Lord , into one of the chambers, and give them wine to drink. 3Then I took Jaazaniah the son of Jeremiah, the son of Habazziniah, his brothers and all his sons, and the whole house of the Rechabites, 4and I brought them into the house of the Lord , into the chamber of the sons of Hanan the son of Igdaliah, a man of God, which was by the chamber of the princes, above the chamber of Maaseiah the son of Shallum, the keeper of the door. 5Then I set before the sons of the house of the Rechabites bowls full of wine, and cups; and I said to them, Drink wine.6 *But they said,* *We will drink no wine, for Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, commanded us, saying, 7You shall drink no wine, you nor your sons, forever. You shall not build a house, sow seed, plant a vineyard, nor have any of these; but all your days you shall dwell in tents, that you may live many days in the land where you are sojourners.8Thus we have obeyed the voice of Jonadab the son of Rechab, our father, in all that he charged us, to drink no wine all our days, we, our wives, our sons, or our daughters, 9nor to build ourselves houses to dwell in; nor do we have vineyard, field, or seed. 10But we have dwelt in tents, and have obeyed and done according to all that Jonadab our father commanded us.* 11But it came to pass, when Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon came up into the land, that we said, Come, let us go to Jerusalem for fear of the army of the Chaldeans and for fear of the army of the Syrians. So we dwell at Jerusalem. 12Then came the word of the Lord to Jeremiah, saying, 13Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Go and tell the men of Judah and the inhabitants of Jerusalem, Will you not receive instruction to obey My words? says the Lord . 14The words of Jonadab the son of Rechab, which he commanded his sons, not to drink wine, are performed; for to this day they drink none, and obey their fathers commandment. But although I have spoken to you, rising early and speaking, you did not obey Me. 15I have also sent to you all My servants the prophets, rising up early and sending them, saying, Turn now everyone from his evil way, amend your doings, and do not go after other gods to serve them; then you will dwell in the land which I have given you and your fathers. But you have not inclined your ear, nor obeyed Me. 16Surely the sons of Jonadab the son of Rechab have performed the commandment of their father, which he commanded them, but this people has not obeyed Me.17Therefore thus says the Lord God of hosts, the God of Israel: Behold, I will bring on Judah and on all the inhabitants of Jerusalem all the doom that I have pronounced against them; because I have spoken to them but they have not heard, and I have called to them but they have not answered. 18And Jeremiah said to the house of the Rechabites, Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: Because you have obeyed the commandment of Jonadab your father, and kept all his precepts and done according to all that he commanded you, 19therefore thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Jonadab the son of Rechab shall not lack a man to stand before Me forever.” ’ ”

OVERVIEW OF THE STORY
The Rechabites were an example of absolute obedience to God's will and a strict adherence to their ancestor's instructions. They were not just local champions but were national ICONs. God was looking for an example of obedience in Judea but He could find no one else than the rechabite and God had to use them as example to the whole of the nation on what obedience to god means and at this times the isrealite were inconsistent they were constantly disobeying Gods word and god had to use a very small unit of people in the land to show how best to obey, and obedient to Him must not be partial but in full. They receive instruction from there ancestor JONADAB(son of rechab: where their name was derived from). He gave them instruction to abstain from wine and also dwell in tent, no houses as travelers for about 200years again the instruction was given to them, notwithstanding they still keep on being faithful to the instruction, they were not affected with anything, but there focus was to adhere strictly to the instructions given unto them, it shows that they are indoctrinated in the instructions given by their father. For example you can never see a Celestial Church of Christ member on their white garment wearing footwear, nomatter the place they find themselves they will remain shoeless. Take note down the years these people still kept his words.
WHO IS YOUR FATHER? WHO ARE YOU FOLLOWION? WHO’S TRADITION ARE YOU FOLLOWING? ARE YOU A FOLLOWER OF THE FOUNDER OF THIS GREAT MISSION CGAC? ARE YOU AWARE OF HIS LIFESTYLE ?HE WAS A MAN OF DEEP DEVOTION TO GOD, A MAN OF HOLINESS, A MAN OF DEEP FAITH IN GOD, HE WAS SOLD OUT TO GOD. WHO IS YOUR FATHER?,ARE YOU AN OKEDOYINITE?, ARE YOU A CGACCFITE? ARE YOU A MEMBER BY NAME AND NOT CONDUCT? ARE YOU A MEMBER IN DRESSING AND NOT IN CHATRACTER?

OTHER EXAMPLES: Daniel and Joseph

If youre in a foreign land will you stand for the lord??? Or will they find you stand firm with the condition, a rechabite stake fame, family background all they have for God. Now to you are you ready to stake all whats at your disposal for Him???
If you cannot stand for God or for the ways and culture of CGAC in these perilous times, you are like a reed plant on the water that is shaken by the wind (Matthew 11:7). After all, a man who stands for nothing will fall for everything.
DIFFERENCES BETWEEN THE RECHABITES AND THE REST OF ISRAEL:
The Rechabites kept their vows to a fallible leader; the Israelites broke their covenant with their infallible divine Leader.
Jonadab (Jehonadab) told his family one time not to drink, and they obeyed; God commanded Israel many times to turn from sin, and they refused. Matthew 11:7 KJV And as they departed, Jesus began to say unto the multitudes concerning John, What went ye out into the wilderness to see? A reed shaken with the wind?
The Rechabites obeyed laws that dealt with temporal issues; Israel refused to obey God's laws that dealt with eternal issues.
The Rechabites had obeyed for hundreds of years; Israel had disobeyed for hundreds of years.
The Rechabites would be rewarded; Israel would be punished.
Are you a Rechabite in this generation? Remember what the Bible says in 2 Timothy 3:1-5 (two versions in focus - The Amplified Bible and The Message).But understand this, that in the last days dangerous times [of great stress and trouble] will come [difficult days that will be hard to bear]. For people will be lovers of self [narcissistic, self-focused], lovers of money [impelled by greed], boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy and profane, [and they will be] unloving [devoid of natural human affection, calloused and inhumane], irreconcilable, malicious gossips, devoid of self-control [intemperate, immoral], brutal, haters of good, traitors, reckless, conceited, lovers of [sensual] pleasure rather than lovers of God, holding to a form of [outward] godliness (religion), although they have denied its power [for their conduct nullifies their claim of faith]. Avoid such people and keep far away from them."2 Timothy 3:1‭-‬5 AMP
Don’t be naive. There are difficult times ahead. As the end approaches, people are going to be self-absorbed, money-hungry, self-promoting, stuck-up, profane, contemptuous of parents, crude, coarse, dog-eat-dog, unbending, slanderers, impulsively wild, savage, cynical, treacherous, ruthless, bloated windbags, addicted to lust, and allergic to God. They’ll make a show of religion, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people." 2 Timothy 3:1‭-‬5 MSG
Consider this here: addicted to lust, and allergic to God. Whoever is addicted to lust will be allergic to God. The Bible says that friendship with the world is enmity against God.

So I'm glad to be amongst you all as brothers and sisters
Trust we all had a beautiful and wonderful Sunday
And how have we held up so far especially amidst the pandemic
We are coming out strong and better in Jesus name
Straight to the business of the day
We appreciate our heavenly Father foe being such an irreplaceable Father to us all
We thank him for the gift of biological life and the rare gift of eternal life
Without Him, we're but nothing. He is the one that gave meaning to our respective lives
The moment he arrived into our lives, things became different.
Dear, Lord, we plead with you tonight, that it will please you to refresh us once again in Jesus name

As earlier mentioned, it has pleased the Lord for us to consider what I consider very very very important!
It is simply titled:
The Most Deadly Disease
Without due respect to you all as scholars, especially those who are studying medical science related courses
The topic under discussion calls for serious concern
To begin with, anything that deviates from Ease is simply labeled DisEase
I know how dreadful the subject of disease is. So I'll be a bit clear and plain
By way of introduction, everyone of us has one burden or the other
Introduction
One of the things that characterize the human race is the fact that every man battles with one burden or the other. Each one of us has a fair share of this inevitable Universal Cross called Burden.
It varies from one person to another, from one tribe to another, from one culture to another, from one state to another, from one language to another, from one country to another, and from one race to another. It has no respect for skin color or facial look; young and old, male and female, no one is exempted.
Besides the fact that every man has got a burden in one form or the other; a closer evaluation reveals that there exists a striking similarity in the load or burden carried by different people across the world. This implies that there is a common denominator to all the diverse forms of burden borne by the entire human race!
Although the burden of poverty, joblessness, loneliness, disability, Hunger, broken home, bad luck, etc may not necessarily affect everybody; yet there is a particular burden that has successfully made its way or crept into the lives of all homo sapiens. We all found ourselves under its whims and caprices by default!
Myself and everyone on this platform are not excluded!
The point I'm trying to drive home is that everybody may not battle with the burden of hunger, joblessness and others, but everybody, to the exclusion of no one, suffers from one particular burden called Disease Burden!
This precisely sets the tone for the topic under discussion, The Most Deadly Disease.
I'm pretty sure some people are wondering and may want to contest the assertion I just made - that all of us suffers from Disease Burden.
But don't wonder too much, just permit me to finish the analysis.
Let's get to know what a disease is in the first place
DISEASE a disorder of structure or function in a human, animal, or plant, especially one that produces specific symptoms or that affects a specific location and is not simply a direct result of physical injury.
Every nation strives to always reduce their disease burden as it spells serious doom and economic backwardness to them if not checked.
In fact, one of the indices of development has got a lot to do with the load or burden of disease a nation has or struggles with at a particular point in time
You can become a hero if you can inflict a disease (no thanks to *Covid 19* on a society or cure a particular disease that is ravaging a society
Guess what, this strategy has always been in place right from the foundation of the world
In fact, it is right in the Holy Scriptures
It's one of the strategies used by the Lord Jesus when He launched His ministry
Then he called his twelve disciples together and gave them power and authority over all devils and to cure diseases Luke 9:1
Jesus knew that one of the ways to catch the attention of mankind is to highlight and provide a solution to their disease burden...
He knew that the collective problem we all had as human being is nothing but the subject of disease
So the more the disease he cured the more he got free publicity about his mission and the kingdom of God.
In fact, there was a remarkable occurrence back then in Jerusalem, still on this thing called disease
There was this seasonal Angel that would come to a pool at Bethesda...
The only job description of the Angel was to stir or trouble the water, and alas, whoever jumps into it first would be cleansed of all manner of disease he or she was having...
Guess what, that pool was more popular than some kings and princes because of the strategic problem it was solving
You then see people with one disease or the other queuing up around the water waiting for the stirring angel... John 5:4
Disease Burden is a serious burden, AND unfortunately we all face it all day long.
DISEASE BURDEN
Disease burden is the impact of a health problem as measured by significant cost, mortality, morbidity, or other indicators. It is often qualified in terms of quality - adjusted life years or disability - adjusted life years.
Even WHO and UN are currently tired of the burden of disease the world over.
A large percentage of the world's disease burden used to be carried by India, but currently, the disease burden appears to have shifted its headquarters to Nigeria!
Dear brethren, let's wake up
As we go on, I'll like us to note that disease is very crafty and deceptive.
The pathological damage inflicted on some of us by some disease is more than we can or have ever realized.
The reason is because not up to 40% of human being actually knows what man is made of...
So what's exactly this disease that's most deadly?
Before I open that up, let's quickly see some of the antics of diseases
CHARACTERISTICS OF DISEASES
It comes with Pain, either mild or excrutiating.
It Weakens
It saps Vitality
It comes with Loss of Appetite
It Terrifies
It drains Resources
It causes Weight Loss
It Sinks Goals and Aspirations
It possesses a Force
To explain number 9 further
In elementary Physics, we know that Force is the product of Mass and Acceleration, F = MA
That implies that disease has Mass and Acceleration
Job 30:18 tells us about the force of disease.
Any disease has capacity to put a burden on man and accelerate his total breakdown and downfall
Job 30:18 KJV By the great force of my disease is my garment changed: it bindeth me about as the collar of my coat.
Now let's see who we are and what dimension of our personality can disease affect
And the very God of Peace sanctify you wholly and I pray that your spirit, soul and body be preserved.... 1 Thess 5:23
Ladies and gentlemen, the ultimate power of disease does not lie in killing the body alone but lies in killing a man and also make him miss heaven!
So all the various diseases you must have been thinking of only have capacity to rob you of biological life.
The most deadly disease goes beyond the body....!!!
It goes over to the most precious element of your life.... Your Soul
That is why the Bible says that... I wish above all things that thou mayest prosper and be in health, even as thy Soul prospereth!*
So diseases are so smart that they are not interested in depriving you of your physical prosperity. They are rather interested in sapping the Prosperity of your Soul! They are the most Deadly Disease.
So as much as Jesus got the attention of the people by healing their body disease, His ultimate aim is to heal the Disease in the Soul of Man
The most deadly disease therefore, is the Disease of the Soul!
How healthy is your Soul brothers and sisters?
So how do we know a soul that has been infected?
It is not farfetched. We all carry an infected soul by default from Adam
The cure and turning point begins when we have Salvation encounter - the receiving of God's own kind of life.

None else can heal all our soul diseases

Jesus knows all about our struggles,
He will guide till the day is gone
There's none a friend like a lonely Jesus

But instead of subjecting every part of us that has contracted disease via the cross for outright crucifixion so that the newness of God's life can show forth, we all assume it's all over after salvation and go about our normal business. The crafty serpent creeps in silently and deals mercilessly with us....
For the record, there are three major components in the Soul of man
Mind
Emotion
Will-Power
Mind is like a microprocessor in computers. In fact, it is our organic processor.
Anything that conquers the mind, conquers the whole being
The Bible talks about different kinds of mind
Please note them:
Filthy, lucre mind: 1 Pet 5:2 Feed a the flock of God which is among you, taking the oversight thereof, not by constraint, but willingly; not for filthy b lucre, but of c a ready mind
Faint Mind - Heb 12:3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.
Corrupt Mind - 2Tim 3:8, Now as Jannes and Jambres withstood Moses, so do these also resist the truth: men of corrupt minds, reprobate concerning the faith.
Reprobate Mind - Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Traitors, heady, high-minded, - 2 Tim 3:4 Traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
Feeble Mind - 1 Thess 5:14 Now we exhort you, brethren, warn them that are unruly, comfort the feebleminded, support the weak, be patient toward all men.
Fleshly mind - Col 2:18 Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind,
Carnal Mind - Rom 8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.
Blind Mind - 2 Cor 4:4 In whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not, lest the light of the glorious gospel of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine unto them.
Doubtful Mind - LK 12:29 And seek not ye what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.
Hardened Mind - Deut 5:20 (That also was accounted a land of giants: giants dwelt therein in old time; and the Ammonites call them Zamzummims
Despiteful mind - Ezek 36:5 Therefore thus saith the Lord God ; Surely in the fire of my jealousy have I spoken against the residue of the heathen, and against all Idumea, which have appointed my land into their possession with the joy of all their heart, with despiteful minds, to cast it out for a prey.
Wicked Man - Prov 21:27 The sacrifice of the wicked is abomination: how much more, when he bringeth it with a wicked mind?
All the aforementioned state of mind produce all sort of disease of the soul...
Examples include: disobedience, pride, boastfulness, backbiting, deceit, envy, covetousness, maliciousness, revellings, drunkenness, sedition, heresies, hatred, lasciviousness, idolatry, abusing, fornication, adultery, uncleanness, telling lies, etc
Conclusively, only Jesus and His cross can cure this deadly disease.
Please talk to God to heal you of any of them.

Sweet Holy Spirit we appreciate you for the entrance of your word giveth light and understanding unto the simple. Thank you Lord for illuminating our mind.
Please we surrender the totality of our soul to you. You are the Bishop of our souls. You are the shepherd of our souls. Please heal us Lord in Jesus name
May we not hurriedly leave your quiver until we are whole and totally healed in Jesus name. We will not discharge ourselves from your treatment room against physical advice because you're the greatest physician.

Well as we all know our topic for tonight is Spiritual Gifts and It's Impact
Pls I would want us all to be responsive as it's not a new topic to us.
Now from the word Spiritual Gift
Can I get any definition pls. Spiritual gift are divine gift from above: Divine talent given to individuals from birth by God
Spiritual Gifts are a grace and anointing that is given to each person through the Holy Spirit. They are designed like an ability to be a point of leverage for each believer. Their purpose is for building and encouraging people. You use your gift to impact the life of another person. They are ONLY experienced at the highest level when shared.
A spiritual gift is an endowment or extraordinary power given by the Holy Spirit. These are the supernatural graces which individual Christians need to fulfill the mission of the Church.
Note these word Extraordinary or Endowment from the Holy Spirit
These gifts are given by the Holy Spirit to individuals, but their purpose is to build up the entire Church.
Note the gifts are not for personal usage. Rather for the growth of the church. Learn to act on it
Listen to This
Christians believe that the charismata were foretold in the Book of Joel (2:28) and promised by Christ (Gospel of Mark 16:1718). This promise was fulfilled on the Day of Pentecost and elsewhere as the church spread. According to the book of Joel it was foretold but these signs begin to manifest in the book of Act of the apostle at the Pentecost.
Get these Truth:
Spiritual Gifts is a special attribute peculiar to each person. You may not be given the type of your friend. Even it is similar, there will be certain operation that will be different. The gifts is meant to be used within the context of the body of Christ. You cannot claim to have spiritual gift when you are not using your gifts to serve in your
local church.
Everyone is given different Gift, don't compare yourself with your friends or colleague. You two are different ENTITY
Purpose of spiritual gifts
Ephesians 4:11-12, And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ.
For the perfecting of the saints.
For the work of the ministry
For the edification
These gifts aren't for decoration ACT upon it. You can't carry fire in you and yet not posses it OH NO.
No wonder continious exercises make you an expert
Hear these also; Peradventure you have being trying to operate in a particular office and it's not working, it is probably not His Plan for you.
So many are running with a call that is not their own. They are toiling in the vineyard of others, there is certainly no way that increase will come their way.
You are an Evangelist or a Prophet but running a church as a Pastor and wondering why the Church is not growing. Ofcourse no growth unless we work "after the counsel of His will"- Eph 1:11. This is really happening.
KNOW the gift you posses. You can't proceed on a wrong side of direction. I urge you to be conscious
We have: The gifts of the Father the motivational (or redemptive) gifts in Romans 12:3-7*
The gifts of the Son the ministry gifts in Ephesians 4:11*

Let me give you five reasons. And these are purely to just get you motivated.
Number one is direction and purpose for your life. When you understand your gift clearly, your key motivational gift, and then the ministry gifts where it operates, it will give you direction and purpose for your life.
Number two, freedom to embrace and enjoy who you are. Key word, freedom. You know were just people, and we grow up. And as you grow in the Lord theres people that you associate with or you admire. You know how liberating it is to discover who God made you to be? And just say, I dont have to be like anybody else. I dont have to talk like anyone else.I won't want to emphasize on this again. Be YOURSELF. You're UNIQUE the way you're.By the time you understand how well and different you're you stop comparing yourself with someone else
Number three is joy. The joy that results from impacting lives. The joy when you meet needs by the good works God has called you to do. In fact, our word for gifts *charismata* you know you have the word charis, which is the root word for grace.No matter how occupied you can be. Remember the Bible say there's Joy in Heaven over a Soul that repent. Make it a mandate. In a month win a Soul. Begin to build up that by manifesting your gift
Number four is affirmation of your victory with Christ. This is a real theological one, but we covered Ephesians 4:7. But unto everyone of us is given grace according to the measure of gift of Christ
Number five is accountability. As you will be held responsible for the stewardship of your gift. But there is a day when I will stand before whats called the Bema Seat, or the Judgment Seat of Christ. And I will be judged. And this is not a judgment for salvation. Thats taken care of at the Cross when I trust in Christ. But I will be judged as a believer for my rewards.
You shall and you will give account of them all.
That gift given unto you how well do you maximize it, how well did it yield more to His kingdom

Many Gifts but One Spirit
Many Administrations of Gifts, but from one Lord
Many operating in the realm of power, but one God.
NOTE: In the school of the spirit no room for envy, everyone operates on him or her endowment (empowered) by the Holy Spirit

Can be released on you by laying on of hands by a higher spiritual authority
Strong desire for the gifts
