*STAND OUT AND UP FOR JESUS*
๐TEXT:ISAIAH 6:9-13๐
*๐๐```KEY VERSE:*
_"And he said, Go, and tell this people, Hear ye indeed, but understand not; and see ye indeed, but perceive not"_. (ISAIAH 6:9).
There is the possibility that long interaction within a particular environment can influence and shape one's beliefs, opinions and lifestyle. Where evils and other forms of moral anomalies have come to be accepted as the norm, there is the tendency for those holding the contrary view to become influenced and sucked in too. It will take a strong will for those who hold on to good not to be silenced and become conditioned by the prevailing social ills.
Prophet Isaiah got the commission to swim against the tide of the prevailing social and spiritual conditions of his day. God painted the picture of the people he would reach. They had become completely blind and insensitive to the righteous demands of God. They had committed sins and rebelled against Him repeatedly that it became normal for them. The people's resistance of his message was not to affect his mandate to continue to prophesy the truth to save a remnant.
We are getting the same charge today. With the preponderance of sin around us, we must be careful not to be sucked in or drawn away. Sadly, some people once stood against evil but have been silenced or absorbed by the things they condemned. This can happen if we choose not to continue to speak up for righteousness.
Let us not think that there is no use preaching righteousness since it is obvious that no one is willing and ready to listen. There are people out there who are ready to hear you. A remnant of hope will break forth no matter how bad the time is.

*HOW TO IDENTIFY A RIGHTEOUS MAN?*
1. Possession and not mere mouth profession of holiness, vv6,7.
The prophet was not just professing righteousness, he had a definite and practical encounter with God that purged him from both outward and inward sin.
2. Proclamation of righteousness as the central message, vv9,10.
He did not prophesy prosperity in the midst of unrighteousness but rather specialised in calling the sinful to repentance. Preaching of righteousness is the emphasis of truly righteous people.
3. Declaration of divine judgement on sin, vv9,10.
He declared judgement of spiritual deafness, blindness and heart blindness as consequences of sin as opposed to contemporary prosperity messages to godless people, v10.
4. His message to evil rulers and the wicked was of woes and judgements, v12.
5. His prophesies of comfort and mercy were only for the repentant and not for every Tom, Dick and Harry, v13.
6. His prophecies recorded 100% fulfilment, vv12,13. The judgement truly came to pass; Jerusalem was deserted and few remnants, called the godly seed, were spared by Nebuchadneszzar.
*Questions*
a. What are the other traits of the prophet that marked him out as a righteous person?
b. Based on the above, do you see yourself as a righteous person or compromiser?
c. Is your love for a preacher due to his emphasis on righteousness or something else?
d. How is this Bible prophet different from contemporary prophets who might have lost their callings or might not be called by God at all?
*Prayer points*
Lord, let righteousness dominate my thoughts and lifestyle both in the private and public ๐
Lord, give me boldness and anointing to be vocal and known for rightousness๐
I pray that I will not be distracted and lose focus from my real calling of practically living, preaching and proclaiming righteousness๐
Lord, I hereby pray for the restoration of those ministers that have been distracted from their original divine calling๐
*HYMN*
*I'LL TELL THE WORLD* *GHS 105*
1. I'll tell the world that I'm a Christian -
I'm not ashamed His name to bear;
I'll tell the world that I'm a Christian
I'll take Him with me anywhere.
I'll tell the world how Jesus saved me,
And how He gave me a life brand - new;
And I know that if you trust Him
That all He gave me He'll give to you,
I'll tell the world that He's my Saviour,
No other one could love me so;
My life, my all is His forever,
And where He leads me I will go.
2. I'll tell the world that He is coming -
It may be near or far away;
But we must live as if His coming
Would be tomorrow or today.
For when He comes and life is over,
For those who love Him there's more to be;
Eyes have never seen the wonders
That He's preparing for you and me.
O tell the world that you're a Christian,
Be not ashamed His name to bear;
O tell the world that you're a Christian,
And take Him with you ev'ry where.
