*The Many Guises of Backbiting*

⚡Under the pretense of being informative, one could say that it is not one's habit to mention others, *except* for the sake of relating another's condition to someone

⚡ Another method is to say that so-and-so is a good person; *however*, he has such and such qualities

⚡ There are also those that couple jealousy with backbiting

⚡ the act of being *critical or belittling* those that are praised in the company of others

⚡Some people also backbite for the sake of humor, playfulness and lightheartedness

⚡ Speaking ill of someone in a *humorous fashion* adds flavor to a tale

⚡ Others engage in backbiting by showing *surprise and amazement* at another's actions: "How is it that someone could do such a thing?"

⚡Yet others mention people and their actions with the pretense of *sympathy* for their actions or misfortunes.

_*In reality, the one who backbites actually finds contentment and satisfaction at the mention of others and their misdeeds.*_

Look at The Prophet Ibrahim’s gentleness:

‎﴾يَا أَبَتِ لِمَ تَعْبُدُ مَا لَا يَسْمَعُ وَلَا يُبْصِرُ وَلَا يُغْنِي عَنكَ شَيْئًا﴿

Oh my father, why do you worship something that can’t hear, nor see, nor help you at all?

‎﴾يَا أَبَتِ إِنِّي قَدْ جَاءنِي مِنَ الْعِلْمِ مَا لَمْ يَأْتِكَ فَاتَّبِعْنِي أَهْدِكَ صِرَاطًا سَوِيًّا﴿

Oh my father, I’ve received certain knowledge that you didn’t receive. Follow me, and I’ll guide you to a straight path.

He didn’t say: Oh father you’re jahil (=stupid)

Instead, he said that he’s received knowledge which his father hasn’t received!

Expecting anything other than Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala will make us disappointed. So that disappointment no longer occurs in our lives, avoid placing hope in creatures.
if we love someone, surrender your heart completely to Him, so that your heart is ready. whatever will happen, and will not leave disappointment.
Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala says:
"And only in your Lord should you hope." [QS. Al-insyirah :8]
Imam Syafi'i once said:
"When your heart hopes too much for someone, Allah will inflict upon you the pain of hope, so that you will know that Allah is very jealous of hearts that hope for anything other than Him. then Allah prevents you from that matter, so that you return to hoping in Him."
Let us pin our hopes only on Allah Almighty, because there is no power and effort other than the permission of Allah subhanahu wa ta'ala.
Hopefully we are among the lucky people .

1. *Love for Allaah:*

• This is the foundation of eeman and tahweed.

2. *Love for the sake of Allaah:*

• Love for Allaah’s prophets and messengers and their followers, and loving those actions, times, places, etc. which Allaah loves.

• And this follows from one’s love for Allaah and is a perfection of it.

3. *Love alongside Allaah*:

• Love that the polytheists have for their gods and partners – whether these be trees, rocks, human beings, angels or otherwise.

• This is the foundation of shirk and its very basis.

4. *Natural love:*

• That which carries no blame for the slave and is that which he feels for food, drink, in*******se, clothing, companionship, etc.
