It was a glorious celebration of God’s faithfulness and sustaining grace as God's people gathered as a Diocese at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Okenla, Ifo, for the successful 14th Consecration Anniversary Thanksgiving Service of the Lord Bishop of Ifo, the Rt. Rev’d. Nathaniel Oladejo Ogundipe, and Mama Ifo, Mrs. Florence Motunrayo Ogundipe.

The thanksgiving service brought together the clergy, laity, family members, friends, dignitaries and well-wishers in an atmosphere of joy, praise and Christian fellowship, as the Diocese gave thanks to God for fourteen years of episcopal ministry and faithful service to Christ and His Church.

A significant highlight of the celebration was the laying of the foundation of the Cathedral Tower by the Diocesan. The historic act marked an important milestone in the ongoing development of the Cathedral and provided a fitting symbol of the Diocese’s commitment to building for the future and advancing the work of God.

The foundation-laying ceremony also added a memorable dimension to the anniversary, as the Diocese looked beyond the celebration of what God has done to the greater things He is yet to accomplish through His Church.

Adding further colour to the thanksgiving celebration, the Rev’d. Olukolade Olufunto Ogunbadejo also joined the gathering in giving thanks to God for his birthday anniversary, making the occasion an even more joyful celebration of life, grace and divine faithfulness.

The combined celebration provided a beautiful expression of the communion of the Church, as the Diocese rejoiced with its shepherd, Mama Ifo and the celebrating clergyman, while giving all glory to God for His manifold blessings.

During the intercession at the communion service, prayers were offered for the Lord Bishop and Mama Ifo, as well as the Rev’d. Ogunbadejo, for continued strength, sound health, wisdom, grace and fruitfulness in the service of God and His Church.

Indeed, it was a day of thanksgiving, celebration, vision and renewed commitment, reminding the Diocese that every milestone is ultimately a testimony to the unfailing faithfulness of God.

Once again we congratulate Baba and Mama Ifo on this remarkable occasion and pray that the Lord continues to bless their episcopacy with monumental achievements.

It was a glorious celebration of God’s faithfulness, mercy and unfailing love today at the Chapel of the Everlasting Grace, Bishop’s Court, Okenla, Ifo, as the Diocese of Ifo gathered in thanksgiving to celebrate the 62nd birthday of the Lord Bishop, the Rt. Rev’d. Nathaniel Oladejo Ogundipe JP FAT.

The thanksgiving service was marked by an atmosphere of unrestrained joy, heartfelt gratitude, praise and celebration, as clergy, family members, dignitaries, church members, friends and well-wishers gathered in their numbers to felicitate with the Diocesan and rejoice with him for another year of God’s gracious preservation and faithful leadership.

From the opening of the service, the Chapel resounded with songs of praise, thanksgiving and jubilant worship, as the congregation lifted their voices in gratitude to God for the life and episcopal ministry of His servant. The radiant joy on the faces of the worshippers testified to the deep affection and appreciation with which the Bishop is held across the Diocese.

The celebration was not merely a birthday observance, but a joyful testimony to the faithfulness of God and an occasion to honour a shepherd whose years of service continue to bless the people of God. In an atmosphere charged with thanksgiving, prayers were offered for the Lord Bishop, asking God to renew his strength, enlarge his vision, preserve his life and grant him greater grace for the work of the episcopate.

The Chapel became a gathering place of holy joy and Christian fellowship, as greetings, felicitations and warm expressions of love poured in from those who came to celebrate this special milestone with the lord bishop.

Indeed, it was a day of great rejoicing in the Diocese of Ifo. The Church rejoices with her bishop and gives all glory to God for His sustaining grace, even as his lordship shall be marking the 14th Anniversary of his Consecration as a Bishop, tomorrow 8th September, 2026 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity, Okenla by 11:00am.

IJEBU SOUTHWEST ANGLICAN DIOCESE HOSTS THE ECCLESIASTICAL PROVINCE OF LAGOS 2026 YOUTH CONFERENCE: ANGLICAN YOUTH RENEWS FAITH AND COURAGE IN GOD

The 2026 Provincial Youth Conference of the Anglican Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos has continued to provide a vibrant platform for spiritual renewal, Christian formation, fellowship and meaningful engagement among young people across the Province.

Held under the theme “If God Be for Us”, with Romans 8:31 as the anchor text, the Conference, through its first two days, challenged the Anglican youth to recognise the assurance of God's presence, power and purpose, and to live with courage and confidence in the midst of contemporary realities.

The Conference commenced on Thursday, 3rd September 2026, with the celebration of Holy Communion presided over by the Diocesan Bishop of Ijebu South-West Diocese, the Rt. Rev'd. Dr. Babatunde F.R Ogunbanwo, setting the tone for a spiritually focused gathering.

The Eucharistic celebration was followed by sessions of Praise and Worship, Bible Study and an exhortation centred on the Conference theme. Participants were reminded of the implications of God's unfailing commitment to His people and encouraged to remain steadfast in faith, regardless of the challenges they may encounter.

The first day also incorporated recreational activities designed to promote fellowship and healthy interaction among the participating Dioceses. A keenly contested game competition was organised, with the Diocese of Ifo emerging as the overall winner.

The combination of worship, biblical teaching, fellowship and recreation made the opening day a wholesome and memorable beginning to the Conference.

Activities on Friday, 4th September 2026, began with General Devotion, followed by Praise and Worship and the second Bible Study session on the theme, “If God Be for Us…”

The Bible Study reinforced the central message of the Conference, reminding the young people that their confidence in God must remain unwavering, particularly when confronted by the pressures and uncertainties of contemporary life.

The programme proceeded with the Official Provincial Address, followed by a practical Health Talk on Kidney Health, through which the participants were sensitised to the importance of preventive healthcare and responsible lifestyle choices.

The day's intellectual and spiritual engagements continued with a Bible Game and a talk titled “Living Boldly in Today's World.” The session challenged the youth to uphold their Christian identity and convictions and to become courageous witnesses for Christ in an increasingly challenging world.

A major highlight of the second day was the Archbishop's Hour, during which The Most Rev'd Dr. M. O. Fape, Archbishop of the Ecclesiastical Province of Lagos, addressed the Conference alongside The Rt. Rev'd Dr. B. F. R. Ogunbano, Bishop of Ijebu South West.

The Archbishop's interaction with the young people provided an important opportunity for episcopal encouragement, counsel and spiritual direction.

In an engaging question-and-answer session, the youth interacted directly with the Archbishop, raising questions and receiving responses on issues relevant to their Christian faith and life in today's world.

The Archbishop also prayed for the young people, committing them to God's grace and urging them to remain faithful to Christ and purposeful in their Christian calling.

The session underscored the continuing commitment of the Anglican Church to nurturing, equipping and empowering the younger generation for effective discipleship and service.

The activities of the second day reached a spiritual climax with Power Night, which featured fervent praise and worship, prayers and spiritual ministrations.

The gathering provided the young people with an opportunity for deeper communion with God and spiritual renewal, bringing together the various strands of the day's teaching and fellowship in an atmosphere of prayer and worship.

The 2026 Provincial Youth Conference have therefore combined sound biblical teaching, episcopal guidance, health education, fellowship, recreation and fervent worship to address both the spiritual and practical dimensions of Christian youth development.

At the heart of the Conference remains the assurance declared in Romans 8:31: “If God be for us, who can be against us?”

The message to the Anglican youth is clear; to trust God completely, stand firmly in the faith, live boldly for Christ and become faithful witnesses of the Gospel in the Church and in the wider society.

As the Conference closed, prayers were offered that the spiritual lessons received will translate into transformed lives, deeper commitment to Christ and renewed dedication to the mission of the Church.

We appreciate the lord bishop of Diocese of Ijebu South-West for his fatherly love and grand hospitality during the conference. May the Diocese continue to grow in all areas in Jesus' name.
