THE THREE FLAMES OF LOVE (KINDS OF LOVE)

“You can give without loving, but you can’t love without giving. Don’t give God something that doesn’t cost you.”

1. YELLOW FLAME — EROS LOVE
This is love that lives on the surface. It is largely based on what we receive or what we can get from someone.
It is also called erotic love. It can be very loud and noisy, but when it is not properly guided, it can leave people with scars.

2. BLUE FLAME — PHILADELPHIA LOVE
This is brotherly love—the love that exists because we belong to the same family.
It comes with a measure of sacrifice, commitment, loyalty, and responsibility because of the bond we share with one another.

3. WHITE FLAME — AGAPE LOVE
Agape love is unconditional love. It is the sustained direction of the will toward the good of another.
This is the kind of love Christ gives. Even when we are messy and undeserving, He covers our shame and continues to choose us over and over again.

🤝 BUILDING FRIENDSHIP

Friendship is more than companionship it is a covenant that gives strength in the days of adversity. Pastor Vincent reminded us that the best place to build godly friendships is in the Church. We were never created to walk alone;“a threefold cord is not quickly broken.” Ecclesiastes 4:12

Build friendships with people who can speak truth to you, pray with you, carry you when you are weak, and sharpen you when you need correction. But above all, make God your friend the One who carries your burdens, never lets you down, and will never allow you to be destroyed.
