MONDAY BUSINESS MEETING
At Full Gospel Business Men Fellowship International, Ile-Ife main chapter.

Our business meeting is held every last Monday of the month. Today, before the business meeting was held, Engineer Odunayo exhorted us on the topic, 'Ministry of Mercy' with texts from Matthew 5:7 and Lamentations 3:22:23.

The following are points to note;

1.Mercy speaks for you when you are weak.
2.Mercy can plead with others on your behalf.
3.Mercy eliminates pain.
4.Mercy offers you relief from punishment.

Examples of people who enjoyed the mercy of God in the Bible.

1.Peter (Luke 5:1-11)
Peter enjoyed God's mercy by virtue of His encounter with Jesus which changed his life for good.

2. Lot (Genesis 19:15-16)
When angels came to destroy the wicked city, Lot hesitated to leave. Out of mercy, the angels physically grasped his hands and the hands of his family, pulling them to safety outside the city limits.

He also admonished us to show mercy to others, because one of the ways of obtaining God's Mercy is showing mercy to others.

Earlier this evening, one of the members of the executive arm of our fellowship, Engineer Micheal Farinloye exhorted us from the book of Proverbs 4:3.

According to him, the Bible asks us to guard our heart with all diligence, our desires, emotions, mindset, actions and thoughts must be well guarded, so that we will be able to make the right decisions. It is important that we guard our thinking and mindset.(Proverbs 23:7) Life is shaped by what happens inside of us, not just outside.

We must guard our hearts because everything in life flows from it. Nothing happens without a flow from our heart. We must guard our hearts from jealousy, bitterness, fear, wrong influences, unforgiveness and negativism.

We must guard what we hear, see, and think.(Psalms 101:3) We should think positively and spiritually. Our lives are important and to live effectively as such, it is important to guard our heart diligently.

Yesterday, we were exhorted by our Chapter President, Dr. Dennis Imafidon, from the book of Philippians 3:12;

"Not that I have already obtained it [this goal of being Christlike] or have already been made perfect, but I actively press on so that I may take hold of that [perfection] for which Christ Jesus took hold of me and made me His own."

He asked that we leave the victories, glamour, sorrow and failures of the past and look foward. We should continually make efforts and take the right actions, applying pressure when we have to.

He also encouraged that we should be focused on something important, not just driving through life, aimlessly. He emphasized that the difference between there and here is the letter 'T', which means 'time'. The difference between the present and the future is a matter of time and we must be patient to go through the process.

We must press towards the calling. The mark or goal is to be like Jesus. Everything we do must reflect and please Christ. We must consistently work on our character to be like Christ and invite others to be a part of this divine move.

He asked that we pray to God to take away hindrances from our path to becoming like Him and things that wouldn't make us committed to the fellowship.

On Monday, our National Director, Pastor Emeka Ezebudey admonished us to completely surrender our lives and make ourselves usable in the hands of the Lord.

He encouraged us to make our earthly pursuits heavenly centred and ensure that God is pleased with everything we do.

He emphasized the need to always place the word of God above human policy, culture and traditions, as the latter could change, but God's words abide forever.

We were blessed and encouraged by the word of God!
