Haruna Foursquare Gospel church

Haruna Foursquare Gospel church The Foursquare Church, is an Evangelical Pentecostal Christian Denomination This is Haruna Foursquare Gospel Church. Open communion is practiced.

Here, we preach Christ as the Saviour of the world, the mighty healer, the baptizer with the Holy Spirit and the soon coming King (The four-fold ministry of Jesus Christ). As you continue to visit this page, your life will not remain the same in Jesus Name. The church believes in the verbal inspiration of the Bible, the doctrine of the Trinity, and the deity of Jesus Christ. It believes that human

beings were created in the image of God but, because of the Fall, are naturally depraved and sinful. It believes in the substitutionary atonement accomplished by the death of Christ. The church teaches that salvation is by grace through faith and not by good works. Believers are justified by faith and born again upon repentance and acceptance of Christ as Lord and king. Consistent with its belief in human free will, the Foursquare Church also teaches that it is possible for a believer to backslide or commit apostasy. The Foursquare Church teaches that sanctification is a continual process of spiritual growth. Christian perfection and holiness can be attained through surrender and consecration to God. This spiritual growth is believed to be promoted by Bible study and prayer. The Foursquare Church believes in the baptism with the Holy Spirit as an event separate from conversion that empowers the individual and the wider church to fulfill the church's mission of evangelization. The Foursquare Church expects Spirit baptism to be received in the same manner as recorded in the Book of Acts, namely that the believer will speak in tongues. The evidence of the Spirit-filled life is the Fruit of the Spirit. The church believes that spiritual gifts continue in operation for the edification of the church. The Foursquare Church believes that divine healing is a part of Christโ€™s atonement. It teaches that the sick can be healed in response to prayer. The Foursquare Church anticipates a premillennial return of Christ to earth. It believes that there will be a future final judgement where the righteous will receive everlasting life and the wicked everlasting punishment. The Foursquare Church observes believer's baptism by immersion and the Lord's Supper or Holy Communion as ordinances. Anointing of the sick and tithing are practiced as well

CHILDREN'S WEEK BIBLESTUDY
Ministering: Sis. Mercy Abiona
Theme: I am an Overcomer
Topic: Walking in victory
Text: Romans 8:37, 1 John 5: 4-5, Revelation 3:21, John 16:33

INTRODUCTION
We live in a world full of pressure, fear, temptation, and distractions but God did not call us to live in defeat or fear. Through Christ Jesus, God has called every believer to live a life of victory, strength, and purpose.
As Christians, we may face problems, disappointments, temptations, and challenges, but God wants us to rise above them through faith, obedience, and the help of the Holy Spirit.
An overcomer is not someone who never faces difficulties, but someone who continues to trust God and wins through Christ.
Tonight, we will be looking at the following lesson outlines.

LESSON OUTLINE
Who is an Overcomer?
Why Must We Overcome?
What are the Overcomerโ€™s Strides?
Areas We Need to Overcome as Christians
Benefits of Walking in Victory
Conclusion

WHO IS AN OVERCOMER?
An overcomer is a believer who wins the battles of life through faith in Jesus Christ and remains strong even during difficulties.
The Bible says in 1 John 5:4: โ€œFor everyone born of God overcomes the world.โ€
Romans 8:37 also says: โ€œIn all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.โ€
This made us understand who an overcomer truly is.

WHY MUST WE OVERCOME?
1. The Christian life is a battle (Ephesians 6:12)
2. The enemy wants to destroy believers (John10: 10). Satan fights against our faith, purity, and purpose. Therefore we must stay alert and not lose our guard.
3. Overcoming helps us grow spiritually (James 1:2 -4): Navigating life challenges help us become stronger, more patient, and mature in faith.
4. Jesus has already given us victory Jesus said in John 16:33: โ€œBe of good cheer; I have overcome the world.โ€As believers, we do not fight for victory; we fight from the stand point of victory because Jesus already won for us.

WHAT ARE THE OVERCOMERโ€™S STRIDES?
1. The Stride of Faith (Hebrews 11:6, 1 John 5:4)
2. The Stride of Prayer (Luke 18:1)
3. The Stride of Holiness (1 Peter 1:15-16)
Victory and deliberate sin cannot work together. Holiness includes having pure thoughts, good character and living a life of total obedience to God.
4. The Stride of the Word of God (Matthew 4:4, John6: 63)
True breakthrough happens when we study the Bible, meditate on it, speak Godโ€™s Word daily, and act on it, even when it doesn't make sense to the natural mind.
5. The Stride of Perseverance (Galatians 6:9)
6. The Stride of Obedience (Deuteronomy 28:1-2)
7. The Stride of Praise and Thanksgiving (Acts 16:25-26)

AREAS WE NEED TO OVERCOME AS CHRISTIANS
1. Overcoming Sin (Romans 6:14).
2. Overcoming Fear (2 Timothy 1:7).
3. Overcoming Temptation (1 Corinthians 10:13).
4. Overcoming the Flesh (Galatians 5:16)
5. Overcoming Worldly Values (Romans 12:2)
6. Overcoming Discouragement (Psalm 42:11)

BENEFITS OF WALKING IN VICTORY
When we live as overcomers, we enjoy:
Spiritual authority
Inner peace
Divine strength
Fruitfulness
Confidence in God
Eternal rewards
Victorious living

CONCLUSION
God did not create believers to live in fear, defeat, or bo***ge to sin. Through Christ, we have been given power to live victoriously every day.

The overcomerโ€™s life is a life of faith, prayer, holiness, obedience, perseverance and total dependence on God.
Every challenge is an opportunity to show Godโ€™s power.

No matter what you are facing today, remember, You are not alone, You are not powerless; You are more than a conqueror through Christ and Victory is your inheritance in Christ Jesus.

So Rise above fear. Rise above sin; rise above discouragement; walk in faith; walk in holiness; walk confidently in victory because in Christ, we are OVERCOMERS!

BIBLE STUDY Tuesday May 12 2026
Theme: Godly Homes Godly Nation
Topic: The Building and Sustenance of Godly Homes (Josh 24:15-25, 1. Cor 3.6, Psalm 127:1)
Teacher: Rev. Bode Newo
INTRODUCTION
To be Godly means to live a life aligned with God's character, will, and commandments. It goes beyond our outward postures. It reveals our internal sincere dedication that reflects in our daily behavior; emphasizing holiness, humility, and obedience to divine principles.

The active members of a Godly home comprise the Trinity God, a Godly father, a Godly Mother, Godly children, and Godly members of household. The God factor is what makes the difference. It is a critical factor and the missing link in many homes (1 Cor 3:6, Psalm 107:1). In which case, no matter how much is done other components of the home, without the God factor in the home, the efforts will be wasted.

Godliness mirrors divine virtues in our human actions, Godly homes don't just happen - it is not a coincidence; the human components of the homes must intentionally run the homes on Godly attributes, which is a combination of Godly principles (Godly values) and Godly habits (Christ-like character). Every Christian home must be committed to building Godly attributes into their daily lives in order to reflect Godly character in their behaviour.

ESSENTIALS FOR BUILDING AND SUSTAINING GODLY HOMES
1. Christ Centredness:* Making Jesus the centre of all things in the home; the foundation and cornerstone. This connotes:

a. Living by the reverent fear of God (1 Peter 1:17 NLT)- The focus here is to reverence and honour God in all that is done in the home. Will that decision honour God? Will God be honoured by the action I have taken or about to take?
b. Seeking and knowing the mind of God concerning all things (Prov 3:5-6 NLT)
c. Obedience to the leading of the spirit of God aligning the hearts and actions of the members of the home with the will of God (Isaiah 1:19)
d. Having and serving no other God (Isaiah 46:5,9)

2. Devotion to God -* the Holy Spirit must be the anchor. The home must be devoted to God and His will. This requires:
a. Walking with God (Gen 5:21-24)- following God step by step and to be sold out to Him. b. Allowing God's presence to indwell in the home always. God's promised presence in Exod 33:14 made the difference in the lives of Moses and that of the transiting children of Israel
c. Must be devoid of hatred, bitterness, unforgiveness and disunity (Romans 12:17) "recompense to no man evil for evil", (Rom 12:21)-"do not be overcome with evil but overcome evil with good", (Mark 3:25)-if a house be divided agxinst itself, that house cannot stand

3. Family Altar (Deut 6:6-7, Josh 24.15, Gen 18:19, Job 1:5)
a. The practice of daily family worship, prayer, and study of scripture is a way of establishing God's honour in the home. The family aftar is a place of communal contract and fellowship with God
b. the family altar makes for generational faith (it builds faith and passes it to future generations - Psalm 78.5-6), spiritual protection (Regular family prayer is seen as means for spiritual covering for the family - 1 Sam 7:2-10), Consecration (it serves as a place for regular spiritual sacrifice - Exo 20:24)

4. Holiness (Lev 11:44-45, 1 Peter 1:15-16):* God is Holy. Godly homes must conform to His character and live lives of holiness and absolute purity in thought and action. Shunning every sin and keeping the bed undefiled (Heb 13:4)

5. Mutual Respect and Accountability (Eph 5:21):* Couples in Godly homes are to practice the model of partnership where couples prioritize each other's needs and serve one another out of reverence for Christ

6. Mutual Understanding (Gen 2:24, Eph 5:21):* This refers to the ability of partners in the home to empathize with, respect, and comprehend each other's emotions, perspectives, and needs. Mutual understanding in homes is rooted in selfless love, respectful partnerships, and shared spiritual life. Its other ingredients are; active listening (James 1:19), sacrificial love (1 Cor 13:4-7), mature communication, husbands' considerate living (1 Peter 3:7) and shared partnership- shared support (Eccl4:9-10)

7. Patience and Compromise -* shifting grounds from self-interest to serving the spouse. This will foster a partnership built on trust and joint purpose.

CONCLUSION
If there would be a Godly nation, there must be Godly Homes. Every Christian should, therefore, evolve from just carrying the name tag to living a life of total surrender to Jesus and continue to behold Him for His full image to be fully formed in us. This is when we become Godly. If every Christian is Godly, His nature and character that we exhibit will impact the society where we live. By this, we can be assured of having a Godly nation.

TUESDAY BIBLE STUDY 5TH MAY, 2026
THEME/TOPIC: THE POWER OF A PRAYING MOTHER
BIBLE TEXT: 2 KINGS 4: 18-37, 1 SAMUEL 1: 9-20
TEACHER: PST. (MRS) E. O. ONOJAKE
INTRODUCTION
Prayer can not be overemphasized in the body of Christ. It is like oxygen; no believer can do without it. We have sung severally that prayer is the master key. It is indeed the master key that unlocks endless possibilities to a believer. When this weapon is wielded by a mother who is patient, persistent, passionate, and purposeful, power is made available to cause change and a shift.

The topic of the power of a praying mother suggests that a motherโ€™s prayer has the ability to bring about change. (The effectual fervent prayer of the righteous makes tremendous power available. James 5: 16 amp) When a mother prays, she can shape destinies and cause alignment.

Many great men and women in the Bible, in history, and even our present day are a product of mothersโ€™ prayers. I pray that as we learn of the superpower we have in the place of prayer, we will deploy it to our advantage and that of our household in Jesus' name.

Outline:
1. What is prayer?
2. Who is a Praying Mother?
3. What are the characteristics of a praying mother?
4. What are the Proofs Produced by a Praying Mother?

What is Prayer?
To know the power in prayer, we must first know what prayer is. Prayer is communication and communion with God. It is pouring out our hearts to God (Ps 62: 8). Prayer is not all about asking for what you want; While that is part of it, it also includes thanksgiving Ps 35: 18, worshipping Him, seeking His mind concerning issues, seeking His will and being willing to wait for Him to speak on the matter and waiting on Him Ps 27: 14, Isaiha 40: 31. It is a two-way communication, not a monologue Hab 2: 1. It has the ability to change situations and circumstances. James 5 17

Who is a Praying Mother?
โœ“ She is a female. Gen 5: 2 child of God. Jhn 1:12
โœ“ She recognizes her need for God, and she is therefore God dependent. 1 Sam 1: 9-10, Prov. 3: 5-6, Jhn 15: 5
โœ“ She has faith in God, and therefore, She seeks God. Heb 11: 6. She seeks His Kingdom Math 6: 33, 1 Sam 1: 10-12

What Are the Characteristics of a Praying Mother?
โœ“ She has faith in God and does not allow worry to dominate her heart. Heb 11: 6. You can not have faith in God and still worry. Faith and worry are opposites. Why worry when you can pray? If you worry, you will not be able to pray. If you pray and after your prayer, you start to worry, you have already uprooted the seeds of prayer that you have sown and do not expect any result except God just chooses to have mercy. Math 6: 27. Instead of worrying about that situation, why not pray about it? Worrying only shows you do not trust God enough to handle the situation. Pray instead of worry. Philp 4: 6-7
โœ“ She is persistent and does not take โ€œNoโ€ for an answer. We have Hannah and the Shunnamite woman as good examples of persistence. Even when Hannahโ€™s husband, Elkanah told her โ€˜am I not worth more than 10 sonsโ€™ 1 Sam 1: 8, that did not make her stop going to Shiloh. Contrast these two women to Rachel in Gen 30: 1.
โœ“ She is careful with her Words: she knows that her words carry power, so she uses them carefully. 2Kgs 4: 22-23; 26 She is slow to speak but quick to listen. James 1 19
โœ“ She hides Godโ€™s words in her heart: As women, we must let the word of God dwell in us richly Col 3: 16a, cause out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks Mth 12: 34, Luke 6: 45a. What you say in trying times is a product of what you have stored in your heart. Take time to store Godโ€™s word in your heart through daily bible reading and meditation.

What are the Proofs Produced by a Praying Mother?
It is good to pray, but more importantly, that our prayers produce results, James 5: 16, evidence that are visible to everyone, even to the blind. Prayer that produces result is sacrificial. You pray when it is convenient and when it is not, when you feel like and when you do not.
โœ“ Miracles: The son of the shunnamite woman was raised back to life.
โœ“ Healings: James 5: 15
โœ“ Godly offspring: Samuel was a product of intense prayer, and he was dedicated to God even before he was born. He was devoted and obedient to God throughout his lifetime.
โœ“ Deliverance: Esther 4. The Jews were delivered from being exterminated by Haman

Conclusion
The Bible encourages mothers (everyone of us) to pray without ceasing, 1Thes 5: 17. Prayer doesnโ€™t change God, He is the same yesterday, today, and forever. it changes you so that you are able to receive all those things that have been freely given to you in Christ Jesus I Cor 2: 12, 1 Tim 6: 17. As mothers, we must remain persistent in the place of prayer. Pray with faith, trusting that He answers prayer. Be fervent, trusting, and believing all His words to you. Prayer is one of the greatest gifts a mother can give her children and even her husband. Mother, pray!
