Discover the Power of Standing in the Gap for Others

Dear New Believer,

Welcome to the incredible journey of faith in Christ! As you grow in your walk with God, there’s a beautiful way you can make a difference in the lives of others: through *intercession*, or what we call “standing in the gap.” Don’t worry if this sounds new or unfamiliar—I’m here to explain it simply and share why it’s such a powerful part of your faith.

What Is Intercession?
Intercession is praying on behalf of someone else, lifting their needs, struggles, or dreams to God. It’s like being a bridge between them and God, asking Him to move in their lives. Imagine a friend who’s hurting or a family member facing a tough situation—intercession means you bring their needs to God, trusting Him to work in His perfect way.

The Bible shows us this in action: Moses prayed for the Israelites (Exodus 32:11-14), and Jesus Himself prays for us (Hebrews 7:25). When you intercede, you’re joining Jesus in His work of love and care for others.

Why Should You Become an Intercessor?
You might be thinking, “I’m new to this—can I really do this?” Absolutely, yes! Here’s why intercession is a calling every believer can embrace:

- *It’s a Way to Love Others*: Praying for someone shows you care about their struggles, even when you can’t fix things yourself. It’s a powerful act of love.

- *It Changes Lives*: Your prayers invite God’s power into situations—whether it’s healing, guidance, or peace. I’ve seen families restored and hearts softened through faithful prayer.

- *It Deepens Your Faith*: As you pray and see God answer (sometimes in surprising ways!), you’ll grow closer to Him and trust Him more.

- *Anyone Can Do It*: You don’t need to be a “prayer expert” or know fancy words. God hears your heart, even in simple prayers.

How to Start Interceding
Here’s a simple way to begin, even as a new believer:

1. *Listen*: Pay attention to the needs around you—maybe a friend shares a worry, or you hear about a community issue.

2. *Pray Simply*: Talk to God like a friend. Say, “Lord, please comfort Sarah in her grief” or “Give Mike strength for his job interview.”

3. *Use Scripture*: Pray God’s promises, like “Lord, you promise peace that passes understanding (Philippians 4:7). Please give it to my family.”

4. *Be Consistent*: Try setting aside a few minutes daily to pray for others. Write down names or needs to stay focused.

5. *Trust God*: Even if you don’t see answers right away, trust that God is working. Your prayers matter!

A Story to Inspire You
I once knew a new believer named Anna who felt shy about praying. She started praying for her coworker, who was struggling with anxiety. Anna simply asked God each day to give her coworker peace. Weeks later, her coworker shared how she felt an unexplainable calm and even asked Anna about her faith! Your prayers can open doors for God’s love to shine.

Take the First Step Today
You have a unique role in God’s plan, and intercession is a way to partner with Him. Start small: pick one person or situation to pray for this week. Maybe it’s a neighbor, a global issue, or even your church. As you pray, you’re standing in the gap, holding them up before God’s throne of grace.

Will you take this step to become an intercessor? Try praying for someone today, and see how God uses your prayers to bring hope and change. If you’d like, reply to this message or join our prayer group to learn more—we’d love to support you in this journey!

With encouragement and prayers,
Aris Toluwase Israel

P.S. Want a simple prayer to start? Try this: “Lord, I lift up [insert name of the person you want to pray for] to You. Please meet their needs and show them Your love. Amen.” You’ve got this!

BUILD INTENTIONALLY

18th April, 2025

Psalm 127:
1 Unless the Lord builds the house,
They labor in vain who build it;
Unless the Lord guards the city,
The watchman stays awake in vain.

The Lord is the Master Builder of all things. He oversees the creation of all things.

Whatever you want to build in your life, always ensure to build from the blueprint the Lord has laid down. That's why today's message is 'Build Intentionally'.

You cannot build intentionally when you build sporadically. You cannot build intentionally when you allow emotions to drive you. You cannot build intentionally when you let what people say or think drive your commitment and passion.

You can only build intentionally when you follow the intent of the Lord and commit to divine processes to getting things done.

In this season, commit yourself to building everything the Lord has committed to you intentionally, be it business, ministry, family or the lives of men.

Prayer
May you not fail in Jesus name!

LIFE LESSONS FROM PROVERBS 4: The Fear of the Lord Prolongs Life

3rd April, 2025

Proverbs 10:
27 The fear of the Lord prolongs days,
But the years of the wicked will be shortened.

Have you wondered why the Patriachs of the faith seemed to have their fill of life? They would live until they felt like they have had enough and it was time to go home.

From Abraham to Isaac to Israel to David... These fathers lived their lives until they had fulfilled their purposes for their generations. None of them was cut short by epidemics, earthquakes, wars, etc.

And it was all because they had the life-prolonging power of the Fear of the Lord.

The fear of the Lord prolongs life. You need it in your life. Those who don't have the fear of God are called the wicked. Don't be in the company of the wicked. Develop a healthy and holy fear of God today!

Declarations
I have the fear of God. I walk in reverential awe of God every single day of my life. Amen

LIFE LESSONS FROM PROVERBS 3: The Fear of the Lord 2

2nd April, 2025

Proverbs 9:
10 “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,
And the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.

Happy new month to you. May all you do prosper and may grace speak for you in all your endeavors in Jesus mighty name!

Now today's Milk and Meat: The fear of the Lord is the beginning of many things. Yesterday, we discovered that it is the beginning of knowledge. Today in God's word, it is the beginning of wisdom.

Developing the fear of God is impossible without the revelation of the person (love) and the justice of God.

When we see Him as He truly is, our holy admiration and dread of Him will shoot through the roof. Even though we will not dread Him like we are running away from a monster, we will come to so honour Him that doing anything He is not pleased with becomes terrible.

May every veil upon the face of our hearts, preventing us from seeing Him as He is be removed in Jesus name.

Declaration
Father, I receive a new revelation of you that positions my heart in a holy fear of you, in Jesus name!

NEW MONTH PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS

1st April, 2025

Jeremiah 17:
7 “But blessed are those who trust in the Lord
and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.
8 They are like trees planted along a riverbank,
with roots that reach deep into the water.
Such trees are not bothered by the heat
or worried by long months of drought.
Their leaves stay green,
and they never stop producing fruit.

1. I am a well-watered garden. I flourish by the mercies of God in this new month. (Isaiah 58:11, Jeremiah 31:12)

2. I am planted by rivers of living water. I do not know when droughts come. I never know dry seasons. (Jer. 17:8)

3. My roots reach deep into the waters and I never stop producing fruits every single season of my life. (Jer. 17:8, Psalm 1:3)

4. My boundaries and gates are secured by the angels of God. No infiltrations, no intrusions. My territories are secured in the Name of Jesus! (Psalm 34:7)

5. All things work together for my good this month and beyond in Jesus name (Romans 8:28)

You are blessed!

LIFE LESSONS FROM PROVERBS 2: The Fear of the Lord

31st March, 2025

Proverbs 1:
7 The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge,
But fools despise wisdom and instruction.

The fear of the Lord is a holy dread for the Lord - for His holiness, righteousness and judgements - that keeps a man from living in contradiction to His commandments.

The fear of the Lord is a product of the knowledge of the justice of God, that makes Him reward a man according to His works.

I have often heard some people preach that the love of God is better than the fear of God. That we should reveal the love of God to men instead of the fear of God. The truth however, is that it is impossible to love God without first fearing Him.

The fear of God is the beginning. It is the starting point, without it, it is impossible to correctly love the Lord.

There are many blessings from the Lord for a man who fears Him. We will look into them as we proceed into the new month.

Prayer
Ask God to reveal Himself to you that will create a holy fear in your heart for Him.

WAITING ON GOD 2

29th March, 2025

Isaiah 40:
31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength. They shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint. TLB

A lot of believers struggle with waiting on God because they do not understand what to do to wait on God. Below are the practices that can constitute waiting on God in no particular order (but the first 2 are absolutely foundational)

1. Quiet place: finding a physically quiet place is very important to the practice of waiting on God for a beginner. That's why our fathers in the Scripture Union (SU) Movement used to mandate the practice of Quiet Time earlier in the mornings before everyone wakes up to start the boisterous activities of the day as the best time to wait on God in prayer and study of the Word.

2. Stillness: waiting on God begins with calming down your soul and becoming still in God's presence (God's presence is wherever a believer is, I don't mean a church service or church building).

It is easier to pray and to receive from God when you are waiting on God.

3. Pray contemplative prayers.

There are believers who believe that if anyone prays quietly, then they are too cold and that the prayer does not have fire. That is not true. There is time for everything, there's time to pray violent prayers and there's time to wait in God in solitude to receive guidance and instructions for one's journey. Learn the difference.

4. Worshipping God in music or the use of worship music can help you get into the mood of stillness.

5. Reading or listening to the Word will prepare you to receive from God when waiting

6. Meditate on the Word of God's

7. Reading the books of Ministers of the Gospel can also help you to wait.

Now, if you have been finding it difficult to wait on God, this is your opportunity to begin.

Declaration
I am empowered and fortified by the Word of God. I receive the deep things of God for my destiny in the secret place. Amen

My Earliest Experiences with the Holy Spirit

I was waiting on the roadside for a vehicle going to Ile-Ife with a friend. I had asked the friend, let's call him Akin (not the real name) to help me hold my exam slip while I eased myself by the roadside.

He kept it in his note. I figured it was safer there with him and didn't bother asking him again after I was through.

It was while we were waiting that the Holy Spirit said, "Take your Exam Silp from him".

I obeyed.

In less than 60 seconds, a vehicle sped by going to Ibadan and Akin jumped inside while I was asking if the driver would branch in Ife or not.

He didn't answer me and quickly sped on in fear of the Drivers' Union vehicle coming after him.

That's how my friend and I were splitted and never saw each other again for the entirety of the trip.

Just imagine if I hadn't taken my slip from him, that would have been the end of ever writing that exam that day.

The fact is I wasn't smart enough to know whatever was going to happen in the next 1 minute. But the Holy Spirit knew and he saved me from what could have been a disaster by instructing me to take my slip back.

The Holy Spirit is critical in the life of a believer. Knowing how to relate with Him and maximize His anointing in your life is absolutely critical for your future.

Join us this Sunday as we begin a series on THE HOLY SPIRIT.

It's going to be a time of enlightenment and empowerment at this Sunday's Dominion Service.

Ensure to come ready to receive and also invite someone along.

The Holy Spirit will be awaiting us to change our lives and move us to our next level.

You have been blessed!

WAITING ON GOD

28th March, 2025

Psalm 91:
1 He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
Will remain secure and rest in the shadow of the Almighty [whose power no enemy can withstand]. amp

Do you struggle with waiting on God? Read to the end of this message and see how you can turn things around and empower your soul to wait on God in the secret place.

Waiting on God is such a beautiful and powerful experience every believer in Christ should maximize to be their best in life.

It is basically in 2 forms:

The first is waiting in God for the manifestation of something He promised you or that you prayed for and is taking a long time to manifest.

Number two is waiting to receive instructions and guidance from God.

I will focus on the second tomorrow. However, what I want you to learn today about the first waiting is that it is a divine process for building resilience and patience in you.

James 1:
2 Dear brothers, is your life full of difficulties and temptations? Then be happy, 3 for when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow. 4 So let it grow, and don’t try to squirm out of your problems. For when your patience is finally in full bloom, then you will be ready for anything, strong in character, full and complete.

Declaration
The Lord is working in me. He is working on me. He is strengthening and fortifying me for purpose and destiny. Amen

WALKING IN VICTORY 3

March 27th, 2025

1 John 5:
4 For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

Our faith is the victory. The programming of your faith is the key to quenching all the fiery darts of the wicked.

When the enemy shows up with his attacks against your life, how you respond will determine if you will win or fail, if you will conquer or be defeated.

When you respond in carnality, you have lost the victory already. But when you respond to satanic attacks in faith, then he has lost and you will experience victory.

There is a conditioning of your soul and your spirit that will ensure you are able to demonstrate and exercise your faith always. This can only be done with God's Word.

Through the conditioning of the Word, you can laugh at satanic attacks and rejoice in the victory of Christ.

Declaration
I am victorious in Christ. My faith is programmed for my victory. I rejoice in the glory of God!

WALKING IN VICTORY 2

March 26th, 2025

1 John 5:
4 For everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith.

It should no longer be news to you that this life is a battle. Even Jesus said we will have tribulations in this life. But to be of good cheer, because He has overcome the world.

Believers need to understand how to conquer in the battlefield of life and the provisions of God for our victory in Christ.

1 John chapter 5 verse 4, the Bible says our faith is the victory that has overcome the world.

Life is a battlefield. Everyone of us is facing one battle or another. Battles don't come to a man to entertain him. Every battle is targeted at a man in order to cause destruction in his life.

The devil has 3-fold assignment whenever he shows up in a man's life to wage his battles, according to John 10:10.

_"The thief cometh not, but to steal, to kill and to destroy..."_

His battles are targeted at you to distract you, so he can steal something precious from you. He can come forcefully at you to kill you or to destroy something great in your life.

Whenever he shows up like this, responding from a place of victory in your conditioning, through faith is the key of victory.

Declaration
I am victorious in Christ. All that pertains to me flourish and prosper in Jesus mighty name.
