FULL STORY😡💔😭 - THE CIRCUMSTANCES SURROUNDING THE DEATH OF MARIAM💔😭
To the families, friends, and well-wishers who have shown so much concern about what truly happened surrounding the events that led to the death of my younger sister, Mariam Usman.
Mariam, was my younger sister. She was 22 years old and a teacher at Brains Mind School, located in Ugbamaka Igah. She was a young woman full of life, dedicated to her work, and trying to make a difference in the lives of her students.
On the 17th of June, 2026, while Mariam Usman was teaching at Brains Mind School, a pupil misbehaved in class. In an attempt to correct him, she administered corporal punishment by flogging him. After school was dismissed, the student went home and informed his parents of what had happened.
Upon learning of his son's, the father of the pupil Ishaq Abdullahi (Chado family) at Ugbamaka, the elder brother of Malam Amin, known as Unu of that area (Ugo), became enraged. Instead of following the proper channels to address the matter, he took the law into his own hands. That very evening, Ishaq went to the house where Mariam Usman was staying and assaulted her, slapping and beating her severely.
But that was only the beginning. Ishaq’s wife, carried out an even more vicious attack. As Mariam was making her way to the mosque for prayers, they blocked her path and began beating her mercilessly. They did not stop there, they stripped her naked humiliating her in full view of the community. It was a cruel and degrading act that no human being should ever endure.
Yet the violence continued, The following day, the 18th of June 2026. Three other individuals joined in the assault, a man called Akalama, and two sisters from Ogbagebe Okpo, who had come down to Ugbamaka Igah Together, they beat Mariam repeatedly. They pushed her to the ground, made her sit down, and kicked her with such force that she began to bleed. The attack was so brutal that she eventually lost consciousness and fainted. At that point, her attackers fled the scene, leaving her bleeding and helpless on the ground.
Good Samaritans and people in the area rushed to her aid and took her to a nearby clinic where she was admitted on that same day, the 18th of June. The family was informed and we rushed to the clinic to see her condition. After some days, we made the difficult decision to transfer her to a hospital in Okpo where she could receive better medical care. She was admitted and placed on treatment, but sadly, her body did not respond to the medication. Her condition continued to deteriorate despite all the efforts of the medical staff.
On the 25th of June 2026, at exactly 5:00 AM, Mariam passed away. She died as a direct result of the injuries sustained from the repeated beatings she endured, not once, not twice, but multiple times over the course of two days. Her body simply could not recover from the trauma inflicted upon her.
We believe the assaults contributed to her death and call on the Nigeria Police Force and other relevant authorities to investigate thoroughly and ensure justice. We also appeal to human rights groups, educational authorities, and all people of conscience to support the search for truth and justice.
Mariam was a young woman dedicated to teaching and serving her community. Her death has left our family devastated. May Allah (SWT) forgive her shortcomings, have mercy on her soul, and grant her Al-Jannatul Firdaus. Ameen.
