GOD'S JUDGMENT ON THE NATION

TEXT : Zephaniah 3:1-8

Memory verse : Zephaniah 3:2 She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.

The Holy God is in the midst of children of men, expecting us to exhibit and emulate his character. Jesus came to this world to show us the way we will go and how to walk before the Lord and be perfect. Matthew 5:1-48.

In the passage under consideration this morning, God was in the midst of the nation Israel and he was expecting them to acknowledge him and follow his instruction, but they ignored him and his counsel.

What are the things they did Zephaniah 3:2 She obeyed not the voice; she received not correction; she trusted not in the LORD; she drew not near to her God.
They didn't obey God, neither yields to corrections, they trusted not the Lord and not drawing near to him.

These acts of the children of Israel caused the wrath of God to come upon them. Though, he later restored them when they turn from their foolishness.

God is expecting you and I to obey him, yield to corrections, trust him and come closer to him. All these requirements is for our good not for him. He wants us to be like him and be where he is. He doesn't want us to end up in hell where their fire quenches not and their worm dies not. Mark 9:44,46,48.

Ezekiel 18:23, God does not has pleasure in the death of sinners but that he/she should turn from his wickedness and live. As you are going to make a decision and turn from your wicked ways today, may the Lord have mercy on you and withdraw his indignation upon your life Ijn.
Receive grace to please him now Ijn. Your day is blessed Ijn. And You are blessed Ijn.

THERE IS NO PEACE FOR THE WICKED

TEXT : Isaiah 48:16-22

Memory verse : Isaiah 48:18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

In my research, I have come to conclusions that God of heaven love us with everlasting love. And always wants us around him. All his goodness are available for us to enjoy but one thing is depriving us from fully participating in God's program for our lives. And this is sin in our lives.

God liken sinner as wicked person and evil. How do we became sinner? We are sinners when we refuse to obey his command and instructions. Our God is a jealous God. His glory will he not share with anyone. Isaiah 46:9 Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,

The Lord told Isaiah to tell children of that he is the one that teaches them how to get profit and make it in life. But these people neglected God and instead of them to have peace and continue increasing, they were loaded with lots of troubles and de-stress.

However, they find themselves in this because they didn't hearkened to the commandments of God. Isaiah 48:18 O that thou hadst hearkened to my commandments! then had thy peace been as a river, and thy righteousness as the waves of the sea:

Obedient to God's instructions brings peace and joy while disobedience brings restlessness and discomfort. Isaiah 48:22 There is no peace, saith the LORD, unto the wicked.

Do you want to experience God's peace in your life, home, marriage and business? Turn from your wicked ways and seek righteousness. Receive power to turn to God indeed today Ijn. Your day is blessed Ijn.

THERE SHALL BE SHOWER OF BLESSINGS

Ezekiel 34:24-31

Memory verse : Ezekiel 34:26 And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.

The God we are serving is not a man that he should lie. In the passage under consideration this morning, the Lord has promised us a lot of things which he will do for us. I want you to confess them as you will go through it, Read to the end and pray all the prayers in this passage into your life.

Ezekiel 34:24-31 And I the LORD will be their God, and my servant David a prince among them; I the LORD have spoken it.
And I will make with them a covenant of peace, and will cause the evil beasts to cease out of the land: and they shall dwell safely in the wilderness, and sleep in the woods.
And I will make them and the places round about my hill a blessing; and I will cause the shower to come down in his season; there shall be showers of blessing.
And the tree of the field shall yield her fruit, and the earth shall yield her increase, and they shall be safe in their land, and shall know that I am the LORD, when I have broken the bands of their yoke, and delivered them out of the hand of those that served themselves of them.
And they shall no more be a prey to the heathen, neither shall the beast of the land devour them; but they shall dwell safely, and none shall make them afraid.
And I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more.
Thus shall they know that I the LORD their God am with them, and that they, even the house of Israel, are my people, saith the Lord GOD.
And ye my flock, the flock of my pasture, are men, and I am your God, saith the Lord GOD.

May the word of God come to fulfillment in your life Ijn. You will see peace Ijn, you will be blessed Ijn. You shall be free from slavery and oppression Ijn. Help will rise for you Ijn. You will not know hunger Ijn. May the Lord be glorified in your life this year Ijn. Your day is blessed Ijn.

*THE NEED FOR SELF EXAMINATION*

"Let us search and try our ways and turn again to the Lord" (Lamentations 3:40).

In many places, the Bible invites us to examine ourselves and reflect on our ways. Today’s verse for meditation says the purpose of such personal reflection is to identify where we have departed from the Lord and then take necessary steps to return to Him.

Beloved, periodic self evaluation is crucial if you will make meaningful progress in your walk with God. Examining your life with the mirror of the Scriptures will reveal where you are living contrary to God’s expectations and where you need to make adjustments in order to record improvements.

I once heard it said that an unexamined life is not worth living. We cannot continue to do things in the same manner and expect different results. Usually, things don't change until we change and we will never see the need for change until we have done a review. It is only after a review that we know what we need to run away from and the things we need to run after. That was what the prodigal son did and returned to his father.

If you want things to get better in your walk with God, you must reflect and determine where you need to do better than before. Personal self examination will let you know where you need to ask God for help. It could be in your prayer life, your giving to the Lord, your commitment to His work, or in the area of studying His word. May the Lord help us all in Jesus name.

*HOW TO HANDLE THE ENEMY’S ATTACK*

“He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?” (Matthew 13:28).

In today’s Bible passage, Jesus told the story of a man who sowed good seeds on his farm. But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat. This story teaches us some lessons on how to respond when the enemy attacks. Three important points are worth noting.

First, know the enemy you are dealing with. Jesus identified the devil as the real enemy of man, irrespective of the vessel or medium he uses (Matthew 13:39). He is the thief who comes to steal, kill and destroy (John 10:10). Whenever you see any manifestation of evil, just know that Satan is at work. Identifying the real enemy is fundamental to handling his attack appropriately.

Secondly, refuse to panic or fear when the enemy attacks because that could lead to taking rash decisions. You must be calm and composed, knowing that Satan is a defeated foe. Jesus already overcame him for us (John 16:33). Therefore, our response to Satan’s assault must be from the standpoint of our being more than conquerors.

Finally, in responding to the enemy’s attack, you must look for how to minimize your risks and possible losses. The man in our story refused to hurriedly uproot the tares because he did not want lose a part of the wheat harvest in the process. Always remember that revenge against the enemy is not as important as preserving your gains.

As you follow God’s principles, may you shine forth as the sun, regardless of what the enemy does.

A relationship without intimacy is liable to crash with a little distractions. Building your intimacy with the Lord not only helping you but preparing you for eternity in heaven. Proverbs 8:16 the Lord says I love those who loved me and those who seek me early shall find me. Tomorrow is another day to seek the Lord. Therefore, do not hesitate to present yourself before him tomorrow. 8:00am prompt. This weekend is your period of experiencing divine encounter Ijn. Don't come late to church tomorrow. You are covered with the blood of Jesus. See you tomorrow in the church as the Lord tarries Ijn.
