THE DOORWAYS AND DIAGONAL 'CROSSBARS' OF THE CCC CHURCH BUILDING: MEANING AND INTERPRETATION IN THE GOSPEL by Evangelist Jaiyeola Gbolahan Temitope
*Question*
What is the spiritual meaning or usefulness of the cross we do use in place of the church door?
*Response*
The church building of CCC is structured to represent the body of Christ upon the cross crucified.
Take cognizance that the locations of the doorways are in tandem with the location of palms of the feet (main doorway), hands (male and female side doorways), side (choir doorway) and head (altar doorway). This is observed when you lie down with your head towards the altar direction.
Upon the cross, Jesus was punctured in the feet, hands with nails, side with spear and head with thorns. These nails, spear and thorns stand for the cross bars which are *spiritual predictions of protection and guardian of the house of God*.
The diagonal crossbars in the doorways are crucifix in shape. For any one to come in or go out, they have to be raised up. This itself is a gospel message to in coming souls and out going souls in CCC that:
1. You must be crucified with Christ. That is, saved from sin.
2. You must forsake the world system and be a disciple of Christ.
3. You are in CCC to be preached to for empowerment for Godly living after salvation. You are not suppose to be a spiritual fool!
4. You may go through persecution and suffering for the name of the lord and righteousness. (the diagonal crossbar is so positioned as Jesus carried it on his back to Golgotha)
Mar_8:34 And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.
Rom_6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
1Co_1:18 For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God.
Col_2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
There is also a picture of this on our brother/sister garment; the tassels (fold or ite eti a*o in yoruba), in the beneath (which covers our feet), in the hands, in the neck collar (for our head).
Spiritually, there are 5 entrances into the physical human body: feet, hands, sides, head and skin. Psychologically, there are 6 entrances in the psych (soul) of a person: taste, sight, smell, audibility, thoughts and the 6th one is the skin which our garment is expected to cover up. This is why a sutanna is a single wear, unlike trousers and shirt or a suit.
In the dark world, charms are usually tied to the feet, hands, neck and side (waist) for protection and enforcement. To hurt someone or inflict/afflict someone with evil power (to cause disease or to kill), contact is usually made in those earlier mentioned parts of the body. If the person being attacked is not strong in the Lord, calamity will befall such.
Onibodes stay at the main entrance (feet) and side entrances (hands) because these are the parts of the body which make most direct contact with the human world. The feet makes regular contact with the ground and the hands make regular contact with humans and materials.
A CCC church building has hands and feet. It has an head (altar). A CCC church building is the body of Christ. The 5 doorways depict the 5 fold ministries through which souls are won into God's kingdom. No wonder man has 5 fingers and 5 toes in each hand and foot respectively.
So, when you stand at a doorway with the crossbar in place, you are being reminded of 1 to 4.
