Topic :. BROKENNESS: A NECESSITY

Our familiarity with the story in the book of ll King Chapter 5 introduces characters that showcased different attributes while Naaman's character poses a significant factor and signs of unbrokenness.
Here, the life of Naaman's poses a symbolic sign of unbrokenness which is an essential factor to nite and learn from as a child of God in order to be broken for the desire of God.
SIGNS OF UNBROKENNESS IN NAAMAN'S LIFE
1. APPEARANCE - Naaman's came to the land of Israel to meet Elisha with horse and chariot (Proud), whereby he is in need of help.
Lesson....How do we appear before God?
2. POSITION - Naaman's poses higher position of authority due to this, he acted on his authority by standing at the door of Elisha whom he was seeking help from.
Lesson.....How do we position ourselves before God?
3. RESPONDS - Naaman's respond to Elisha showcased arrogance (vs.11).
Lesson....How do we respond to God's word and instructions?
4. PRECONCEIVED IDEA - Naaman's had a preconceived idea from Syria before coming to Israel.
Lesson... How any of us come to the presence of God with an empty mind and not with preconceived mindset.
5. COMPARISON - Naaman came with a spirit of comparison by comparing other beautiful rivers with river Jordan (vs. 12).
Lesson...
6. MOVING FROM ANGER TO RAGE - Naaman's action connotes a state of violent to an uncontrollable anger.
*Causes of Unbrokenness*
- Position. Position is one of the causes of unbrokenness. Naaman's was a great man.
- Respect
- Achievement
- Renowned Professional.
However, all these attributes are from God because the more the grace you received, the more humble we should become.
*THINGS TO NOTE*
*...Nasty experience in life produces brokenness, it was the leprosy experience of Naaman that makes him to be broken
* Allow unpleasant experience you are passing through to produce brokenness in your life.
* It is good to learn and allow brokenness without nasty experience of life.
