FAITH AND POWER #001
There’s nothing that is as deadly and dangerous to the Believer's walk like wrong knowledge. It fixes him on a wheel chair even though his two legs are working, and makes him to be led about by blind men even though his two eyes are functioning perfectly.
For years, power was a mysterious thing to me. I envied those who moved in it and tried to do whatever it took to get it. I read books that said only fasting and prayer can give power, so I began fasting for power. Yet, no show. It came to a point when I became frustrated and concluded that this power is exclusively reserved for some people
But as I began paying attention to scriptures, my mentality changed.
And I saw that there is NOT one Believer on the earth that is powerless. And that the Believer who just finished a 365 days of prayer and fasting is NOT more powerful than the one who was eating amala and gbegiri soup all through the year.
I saw that power is not what you GET, it is what you HAVE.
One of my favorite scriptures is Rom. 8:17. Every time I meditate on it, it sets my soul ablaze. The Apostle Paul says therein:
“And if we are His children, then we are His heirs also: heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ [sharing His inheritance with Him]…” AMPLIFIED
The Scriptures say we are HEIRS of God.
An heir is one who has been given the right to an inheritance. You don’t work for an inheritance. You don’t earn it. You don’t qualify for it, rather you are qualified for it.
“Giving thanks to the Father, who has QUALIFIED and made us fit to share the portion which is the inheritance of the saints (God’s holy people) in the Light” Col. 1:12
All of the Father that is ours in Christ Jesus is freely given.
“Be who did not withhold or spare [even] His own Son, but gave Him up for us all, will He not also with Him FREELY AND GRACIOUSLY give us all things?” Rom. 8:32
This includes power. It is our inheritance in Christ. Freely given. Not worked for.
Now, the Apostle Paul still said we are joint-heirs with Christ. This means whatever Christ has today is ours. We have it with Him. In fact, whatever He received from the Father, He received for us.
“Saying in a loud voice, worthy is the Lamb who was slain to receive power…” Rev. 5:12
He received power. That power is ours.
“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, ALL POWER is given unto me in heaven and in earth” Matthew 28:18
That’s absolute. ALL means nothing is left. God injected ALL HIS POWER into the resurrection of Jesus, and the Believer is the proof of His Resurrection. Hence, ALL OF GOD’S POWER is in us.
So you see, songs like:
Send down power, holy ghost power, send down power again, holy ghost power
Anointing fall on me, let the power of the Holy Ghost fall on me
Come down oh Lord and manifest your power
Are songs of unbelief.
Send power from where?
Jesus said ALL THE POWER in Heaven is in you. God has NOWHERE to send down power from again.
God can’t come down to manifest any power, because in the Believer, He has already come down. He is at work in the Believer. His power is at work in the Believer.
“Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” Eph. 3:20
The man who becomes born again today is the most powerful man on the earth.
You, my dear friend, are power-full.
That power is an inheritance.
You have it today.
Use it.
We’ll pick it up from here tomorrow.
Blessed.
