The Significance of Obedience
"... Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams (1 Samuel 15:22)"
The world as a whole has been suffering from a subtle plague right from Adam and Saul to our current leaders, which is disobedience. In other words, the majority of our chaotic experiences emanates from we paying deaf ears to simple instructions. With utmost sincerity, the earth is governed by rules and principles which determines the success or otherwise of a person, activity or an entity (Isaiah 1:19)
Basically, Obedience is one of these basic three factors in Christianity (TFO), that is, Trust and Faith. A growing Christian is an individual that heeds the voice of the shepherd daily in fellowship. In other words, you cannot claim to be a christian when u lack the spirit of obedience to Godly instructions and principles (Titus 2:12)
Again, there's a direct correlation between Wisdom and obedience. Wisdom is the ability to obey divinely understood knowledge (which promotes spiritual, economic and financial welfarism). Simply put, success can never be achieved without the application of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10). Here's the expansion of this acronym:
W- Winner
I-Instruction
S- Sacredness
D-Discernment
O-Opportunity
M-Money
To sum up, it's noteworthy here that Grace entails obedience, lest Grace be lost. Consequently, in order for us to avoid being displaced in the place of Grace, we need to listen and live by God's word (since it's one 3L'S).
Point to Meditate: Grace entails obedience, lest Grace be lost.
Memory Verse:Take fast hold of instruction; let her not go: keep her; for she is thy life (Proverbs 4:13)
