The Courage to Be Honest with God
David did not bring God polished prayers. He brought God raw ones. "How long?" is not the language of a man who has it all together. It's the language of a man who is genuinely confused, genuinely hurting, and genuinely bringing that confusion and hurt to the only One who can do something about it.

There is something profoundly liberating about the psalms of lament — they give us permission to be honest. We don't have to pretend to feel fine when we don't. We don't have to dress up our pain in spiritual-sounding language before it's fit for God's ears.

He already knows.

The honesty isn't for His information. It's for our healing.
