*Family Devotional: Demonstrating Love Through Actions*
*Date:* May 5, 2026

*Scripture:* 1 John 3:18

*Teaching:*
Words of love are powerful, but love becomes truly meaningful when it is demonstrated through actions. Many marriages suffer from a gap between what spouses say and what they consistently do.

A woman once said during counseling, 'My husband tells me he loves me, but he never spends time with me.' Her husband responded, 'But I provide for the family.'

Both had sincere intentions, but they were expressing love in different ways.

Love in marriage must be visible, practical, and intentional. It may appear through small acts—helping with responsibilities, listening attentively, offering encouragement, or simply being present.

Grand gestures are beautiful, but consistent daily actions are what truly sustain love.

*Illustration:*

*Reflection:*
1. How does your spouse best recognize expressions of love?
2. Are your actions consistent with your words?

*Practical Application:*
Perform one practical act today that communicates love clearly to your spouse.

*Challenge:*
Love becomes powerful when it moves from words to visible actions.

*Prayer:*
Father, help us express love not only in words but also in actions. Teach us to serve and honor one another daily so that our marriage reflects genuine love. Amen.

*RMCC Daily Devotional: CHARACTER: WHO YOU ARE WHEN NO ONE IS WATCHING*

*Scripture:* Psalm 51:6; Luke 16:10

Reputation is built publicly, but character is formed privately. Many people perform well when observed yet compromise when unseen. However, God measures faithfulness in the hidden places.

A worker consistently cut corners because he believed no one noticed. Over time, this habit shaped his work ethic and limited his growth. When he chose integrity even in unseen moments, excellence became natural—and promotion followed.

Character is not situational; it is habitual. What you do in secret eventually influences what you receive in public. God trusts people who are consistent everywhere.

Private discipline precedes public reward.

*Action Step:* Identify one area where you tend to relax standards when unobserved. Commit today to practice integrity deliberately, knowing God values faithfulness in secret.

*RMCC Daily Devotional: LIVING FROM THE INSIDE OUT*

*Scripture:* Proverbs 4:23; Luke 6:45

Many people try to fix their lives from the outside—changing environments, relationships, jobs, or routines—while ignoring the condition of their inner life. Yet Scripture is clear: life flows outward from within. When the inside is weak, no external change can permanently fix the outcome.

A man once moved cities repeatedly, hoping each relocation would bring peace and fulfillment. New surroundings brought temporary excitement, but frustration returned. It was only when he confronted unresolved inner issues—bitterness, fear, and poor self-discipline—that real transformation began. Nothing outside changed first; everything inside did.

God focuses on the heart because the heart determines direction, decisions, and destiny. When your inner life is aligned, external pressures lose their power. But when the inside is neglected, even blessings become burdens.

Lasting growth begins when you stop managing appearances and start strengthening foundations.

*Action Step:* Take time today to honestly assess your inner life. Ask: What attitudes, thoughts, or emotions are shaping my actions lately? Write down one inner adjustment you need to make and begin addressing it deliberately.
