TOPIC: Help From Above

MEMORISE My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth. – Psalm 121:2

READ: Psalm 121 (KJV)

1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

2 My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth.

3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

5 The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand.

6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

7 The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

8 The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even forevermore.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 45-50

Open Heaven 13th November 2021 MESSAGE:
When there was a famine in Samaria, two women conspired to take turns to kill their children for food. After they ate the child of the first woman, the other refused to surrender her own son for food. The first woman cried to the king for help but he replied, according to 2 kings 6:27 “…If the LORD do not help thee, whence shall I help thee? out of the barn floor, or out of the winepress?”

The Psalmist is right in saying that his help comes from the Creator of heaven and earth, according to our memory verse today. Genuine help can only come from above. The Lord said in Psalm 50:15 “And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me.”

Many people, however, trust other humans, to their disappointment. The Bible discourages us from putting our trust in men. Jeremiah 17:5 says “…Cursed be the man that trusteth in man, and maketh flesh his arm, and whose heart departeth from the LORD.” Whereas verse 7 of the same chapter says “Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.”

Many years ago, someone heard that I was building a house and volunteered to supply blocks since he was a block manufacturer, offering to let me pay at my convenience. The moment this man realized I was roofing the house, he began to pester me to pay for the blocks he had supplied, despite our agreement that I could pay at my convenience. I reminded him that he was the one who offered that I could pay at my convenience but he insisted that I have to pay immediately. I cried to God for help with a promise that I would never make such a mistake again and He rescued me. Beloved, I prophesy to your life that the help which would not expose you to ridicule afterwards will come your way this season, in Jesus’ name.

You must however put your trust in the Lord; you must choose not to have a ‘Plan B’ to your Present Help – the Almighty God. More importantly, you must surrender your life totally to Jesus Christ and abstain from all appearance of evil according to 1 Thessalonians 5:22.

The Lord will send you help from above, in the mighty name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINT: Father, please send help from above today and don’t let me be put to shame, in Jesus’ name.

TOPIC: The Mighty Deeds Of God

MEMORISE: The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name. – Exodus 15:3

READ: Exodus 15:1-11 (KJV)

1 Then sang Moses and the children of Israel this song unto the Lord, and spake, saying, I will sing unto the Lord, for he hath triumphed gloriously: the horse and his rider hath he thrown into the sea.

2 The Lord is my strength and song, and he is become my salvation: he is my God, and I will prepare him an habitation; my father’s God, and I will exalt him.

3 The Lord is a man of war: the Lord is his name.

4 Pharaoh’s chariots and his host hath he cast into the sea: his chosen captains also are drowned in the Red sea.

5 The depths have covered them: they sank into the bottom as a stone.

6 Thy right hand, O Lord, is become glorious in power: thy right hand, O Lord, hath dashed in pieces the enemy.

7 And in the greatness of thine excellency thou hast overthrown them that rose up against thee: thou sentest forth thy wrath, which consumed them as stubble.

8 And with the blast of thy nostrils the waters were gathered together, the floods stood upright as an heap, and the depths were congealed in the heart of the sea.

9 The enemy said, I will pursue, I will overtake, I will divide the spoil; my lust shall be satisfied upon them; I will draw my sword, my hand shall destroy them.

10 Thou didst blow with thy wind, the sea covered them: they sank as lead in the mighty waters.

11 Who is like unto thee, O Lord, among the gods? who is like thee, glorious in holiness, fearful in praises, doing wonders?

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Isaiah 34-39

Open Heaven 11th November 2021 MESSAGE:
Children of God shake and bow in fear to the enemy only when they fail to recognize that their Heavenly Father is the Mighty Warrior who has never lost and will never lose a war. The Lord of hosts is our Banner. He is the only one that can protect and lead us into victory.

Bowing in fear will displease God, to say the least, because He has commanded that “Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” (Exodus 20:3). This is the reason Jesus Christ our Lord came to deliver those who, for the fear of death, subject themselves to everlasting bo***ge according to Hebrews 2:14-15:

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil; And deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bo***ge.”

I have experienced the mighty deeds of God in my life over and over again and I have come to the conclusion that there is no god as mighty as my Daddy in heaven – the Lord of hosts. For example, I recall a time I was travelling with my driver and we got to the middle of the narrow bridge that could take only one vehicle at a time. We then suddenly discovered that a truck was also coming from the opposite direction on the same bridge. Only the intervention of the Almighty God could have made that bridge expand for my car and the truck to pass through without colliding with each other.

The Almighty God is the Greatest Warrior. The children of Israel experienced the mighty deeds of God and they composed a song as we read in today’s Bible text. I pray that the mighty deeds of God will produce your desired miracle today, in Jesus’ name. You, however, have to become a child of God to enjoy His mighty deeds. The Israelites were regular witnesses to the mighty deeds of God because they belonged to Him – they were His children.

In order to experience the mighty deeds of God, you need to be born again. This is the first mighty work the Lord does in the lives of His children – the salvation of their souls (1 John 1:7-9). I pray that the mighty deeds of God will become a daily occurrence in your life, in the name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINT: Father, please make me experience Your mighty deeds this season and always, in Jesus’ name.

TOPIC: The Lord Strong And Mighty

MEMORISE: I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty. – Revelation 1:8

READ: Psalm 24:7-10 (KJV)

7 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; and be ye lift up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, the Lord mighty in battle.

9 Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in.

10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory. Selah.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: Ecclesiastes 6-9

Open Heaven 31st October 2021 MESSAGE:

Many Christians are fearful in the face of attacks from the kingdom of darkness. This attitude is unlike that of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in Babylon. These young Hebrew men knew their God to be strong and mighty and they made bold to declare this to King Nebuchadnezzar (Daniel 13:16-18).

Our God is strong and mighty in battle. He has never lost and can never lose any war. As I have preached on many occasions, our God is a war-Lord on land, according to 2 Chronicles 20:22-23. Also, is more effective than any Chief of Naval Staff when it comes to sea battles, according to Exodus 14:23-31. The Lord Strong and Mighty is more effective than any Chief of Air Staff when it comes to offensive air battles, according to Isaiah 30:30. This was proven in the battle He fought on behalf of the children of Israel under the leadership of Joshua in Joshua 10:11:

“And it came to pass, as they fled from before Israel, and were in the going down to Bethhoron, that the LORD cast down great stones from heaven upon them unto Azekah, and they died: they were more which died with hailstones than they whom the children of Israel slew with the sword.”

You have no reason to fear any attack of the enemies. The Psalmist says:

“The LORD is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” – Psalm 27:1

Isaiah 59:20 gives the condition that guarantees divine defence for the children of God: “…unto them that turn from transgression…” The Lord can only fight on behalf of those who have reconciled with Him through genuine repentance, sin exposes an individual to enemy attacks without any spiritual defence, according to Isaiah 59:1-2. Therefore, ensure that your life is void of any iniquity that could make you vulnerable to the attack of the enemy. Our God is The Lord Strong and Mighty, The Lord Mighty in Battle, according to Psalm 24:8. This is the testimony of every true child of God.

The Lord will prove Himself strong and mighty on your behalf now and always, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER POINT: Father, please show Yourself strong and mighty in my life, that my enemies may fear, repent and surrender to Your authority, in the mighty name of Jesus.

TOPIC: Timely And Cheerful Giving

MEMORISE: To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: – Ecclesiastes 3:1

READ: Luke 24:1-8 (KJV)

1 Now upon the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they came unto the sepulchre, bringing the spices which they had prepared, and certain others with them.

2 And they found the stone rolled away from the sepulchre.

3 And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.

4 And it came to pass, as they were much perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in shining garments:

5 And as they were afraid, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?

6 He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,

7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

8 And they remembered his words,

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Chronicles 31-36

Open Heaven 29th October 2021 MESSAGE:

Timeliness is one of the major conditions for offerings to be acceptable before God. As we see in our Bible reading of today, some people went very early to the sepulcher to anoint the body of our Lord Jesus Christ but He had already risen. Their offering was late! A few days to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ however, a woman had been criticized for anointing Jesus’ feet with an expensive ointment. Despite this criticism, Jesus said:

“…Why trouble ye the woman? for she hath wrought a good work upon me. For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always. For in that she hath poured this ointment on my body, she did it for my burial.” – Matthew 26:10-12

The disciples came on the resurrection morning to anoint Jesus; however, He had resurrected! The angels asked the disciples who went to the sepulcher an important question:

“…Why seek ye the living among the dead?” – Luke 24:5

Whenever the Holy Spirit asks you to do something, no matter how illogically it may sound, please do it promptly and cheerfully. If you procrastinate, it may be a belated offering or service. These disciples who came to anoint Jesus went back with their perfumes because the Lord was no longer in the grave. Also, some people are in the habit of piling up their tithes for two or three months, sometimes even longer. Some say “I borrowed my tithes to pay later!” This is why some lose their reward of tithing – giving unacceptably, not as and when due. Our offerings also extend to our kind gestures to needy brethren. James 2:15-16 says:

“If a brother or sister be naked and destitute of daily food, And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?”

May the Holy Spirit continue to guide us and may we obey Him promptly as we journey from this world to our eternal home with Christ, in the mighty name of Jesus.

ACTION POINT: Listen to the Holy Spirit: what is He telling you to do? Do it now.

TOPIC: The Yoke Of Jesus

MEMORISE: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; – Philippians 3:10

READ: Luke 14:26-27 (KJV)

26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.

27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Chronicles 27-30

Open Heaven 28th October 2021 MESSAGE:

It takes unfailing determination to go through life with Jesus Christ. Accepting Jesus as Lord and Savior includes accepting Him with His yoke – in other words, submitting totally to His will. Indeed, to become a true disciple of Jesus, a person must subject his or her will to Him in totality. The Bible says in Mark 8:34:

“And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them, Whosoever will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.”

Identifying with Jesus requires the belief in His standards and the commitment to live by them. This is however also brings the knowledge of truth and genuine freedom (John 8:31-32).

Submitting to the Lordship of Jesus Christ however, would also bring about persecution from the world. Our Lord Jesus Christ told us in John 15:18-19 that the world will hate us merely because He chose us to become His disciples.

Many so-called born-again Christians and even some leaders in the Church today want to follow Jesus but would not accept any doctrine that preaches “Suffering for the sake of Christ”. One wonders whether such people are serving the same God as Apostle Paul who prayed to know the fellowship of Jesus’ suffering. (Philippians 3:10).

Some people will call us fools when we preach the gospel to them (1 Corinthians 1:18). This however, is a relatively small price to pay to experience the power of God in our lives.

Joseph of Arimathaea and Nicodemus came forward to claim the body of Jesus for burial in spite of the fact he was condemned and killed like a criminal. This is noteworthy because they were important personalities but that did not deter them from identifying with Jesus, even in death (John 19:38-42).

Beloved, let us take the yoke of Jesus Christ upon ourselves. We have to deny ourselves and carry our cross daily. His yoke is however easy and light (Matthew 11:29-30). Those that are not in Christ are under the grievous yoke of the kingdom of darkness that would ultimately lead to eternal damnation.

Surrender all to Jesus Christ today and He will give you rest.

ACTION POINT: Decide to follow Jesus all the way in spite of the hostility of the world around you.

TOPIC: Ungodly Sorrow Leads To Damnation

MEMORISE: A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones. – Proverbs 17:22

READ: Matthew 27:3-8 (KJV)

3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders,

4 Saying, I have sinned in that I have betrayed the innocent blood. And they said, What is that to us? see thou to that.

5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.

6 And the chief priests took the silver pieces, and said, It is not lawful for to put them into the treasury, because it is the price of blood.

7 And they took counsel, and bought with them the potter’s field, to bury strangers in.

8 Wherefore that field was called, The field of blood, unto this day.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Chronicles 21-26

Open Heaven 27th October 2021 MESSAGE:

The type of sorrow that Judas Iscariot experienced is undesirable. I pray that you will not experience such sorrow in your life, in Jesus’ name. Peter’s sorrow is seen as godly because it led to repentance while that of Judas Iscariot is ungodly because it led to his death (2 Corinthians 7:10). When a person thinks he or she can outsmart the Lord, the result is ungodly sorrow. What makes man think he can outsmart God is greed and materialistic tendencies. 1 Timothy 6:6-8 says:

“But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out. And having food and raiment let us be herewith content.”

Judas Iscariot obviously had allowed greed to establish and grow within his heart. It was recorded in John 12:6 that he had been stealing from the purse Jesus asked him to keep. The greed then grew to the extent that he decided to the Lord Jesus Christ for thirty pieces of silver. He probably imagined that he could swindle the Jewish leaders. Judas probably expected that Jesus could not be arrested because he had witness Him escaping from the hands of the Jews before (Luke 4:28-30).

Judas however came to know the import of what he had done when he realized that Jesus surrendered Himself to be arrested and was condemned. This made Judas very sorrowful. Matthew 27:3,5 says:

“3 Then Judas, which had betrayed him, when he saw that he was condemned, repented himself, and brought again the thirty pieces of silver to the chief priests and elders, 5 And he cast down the pieces of silver in the temple, and departed, and went and hanged himself.”

This type of sorrow however is ungodly as it led to despair, frustration, regret and eventually su***de.

Some Christians today also exhibit ungodly sorrow – not for committing sin, but for getting caught, this kind of sorrow does not lead to genuine repentance but rather dries up the bone as we read in our memory verse today.

May this never be our portion, in the mighty name of Jesus.

PRAYER POINT: Father, please don’t let the lust of the eye, the lust of the flesh and pride of life drown me in ungodly sorrow, in Jesus’ name.

TOPIC: Loose And Bring Them!

MEMORISE: And he sent them to preach the kingdom of God, and to heal the sick. – Luke 9:2

READ: Matthew 21:1-9 (KJV)

1 And when they drew nigh unto Jerusalem, and were come to Bethphage, unto the mount of Olives, then sent Jesus two disciples,

2 Saying unto them, Go into the village over against you, and straightway ye shall find an ass tied, and a c**t with her: loose them, and bring them unto me.

3 And if any man say ought unto you, ye shall say, The Lord hath need of them; and straightway he will send them.

4 All this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophet, saying,

5 Tell ye the daughter of Sion, Behold, thy King cometh unto thee, meek, and sitting upon an ass, and a c**t the foal of an ass.

6 And the disciples went, and did as Jesus commanded them,

7 And brought the ass, and the c**t, and put on them their clothes, and they set him thereon.

8 And a very great multitude spread their garments in the way; others cut down branches from the trees, and strawed them in the way.

9 And the multitudes that went before, and that followed, cried, saying, Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 2 Chronicles 1-5

Open Heaven 23rd October 2021 MESSAGE:

Today’s Bible reading is very significant to all Christians, especially soul-winners. Soul-winners are expected to loose their converts from the bo***ge of Satan and sin. Jesus said in Mark 16:17-18:

“And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.”

We are not supposed to dialogue with the devil and his cohorts; all we need is to exercise our God-given authority. Our Lord Jesus said “Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19). As soul-winners, we must endeavor to go after entire households and bring them to Christ. The disciples decorated both the ass and its c**t for the use of the Master (Matthew 21:7). Before our converts can be useful for the Master, we must work on them by the preaching of the word. The Bible says “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.” (2 Timothy 4:2).

Another lesson to learn from today’s Bible reading is that we must glorify God through His beloved Son. God has given Jesus Christ a name that is above every other (Philippians 2:9-10). This is why the multitudes were singing:

“…Hosanna to the son of David: Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord; Hosanna in the highest.” Matthew 21:9

Our Lord Himself said “…I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6). He said further “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” (Revelation 3:20)

Finally, both ass and its c**t enjoyed the honor accorded their rider Jesus Christ. When we allow ourselves to be used of the Lord Jesus, His honor will rub off on us, to the glory of His name.

Purify yourself for the Master’s use today, and you will be well rewarded for it.

PRAYER POINT: Father, please help me to carry out Your Great Commission effectively, bringing families and communities into Your kingdom, in the mighty name of Jesus.

TOPIC: The Power To Get Wealth

MEMORISE: But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day. – Deuteronomy 8:18

READ: Deuteronomy 8:11-18 (KJV)

11 Beware that thou forget not the Lord thy God, in not keeping his commandments, and his judgments, and his statutes, which I command thee this day:

12 Lest when thou hast eaten and art full, and hast built goodly houses, and dwelt therein;

13 And when thy herds and thy flocks multiply, and thy silver and thy gold is multiplied, and all that thou hast is multiplied;

14 Then thine heart be lifted up, and thou forget the Lord thy God, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bo***ge;

15 Who led thee through that great and terrible wilderness, wherein were fiery serpents, and scorpions, and drought, where there was no water; who brought thee forth water out of the rock of flint;

16 Who fed thee in the wilderness with manna, which thy fathers knew not, that he might humble thee, and that he might prove thee, to do thee good at thy latter end;

17 And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.

18 But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Chronicles 26-29

Open Heaven 22nd October 2021 MESSAGE:

There are abundant blessings in the Kingdom of God. It therefore means that it is a wise decision to seek His Kingdom in perfect obedience of the word of God (Matthew 6:33). Deuteronomy 8:18 says:

“But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.”

Many people think that a life of holiness is one of poverty. This is a lie of the devil and unfortunately, he has succeeded in making many people believe that unless they serve him, they cannot be successful in life.

Interestingly, he also tried to deceive the Lord Jesus Christ with this same lie, but the Lord defeated him (Luke 4:5-7). 2 Corinthians 8:9 says:

“For ye know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that, though he was rich, yet for your sakes, he became poor, that ye through his poverty might be rich.”

Beloved, there are abundant blessings in our Lord Jesus Christ- I am, a living testimony of this. For example, before I gave my life to Christ, I used to borrow money from my driver to fuel my car two weeks into the new month. It was after I gave my life to Christ that I began to know the true meaning of prosperity. The Psalmist says that unless the Lord builds the house, the builders only labour in vain (Psalm 127:1). Apostle Paul corroborates this in 1 Corinthians 3:6-7 by saying “I have planted, Apollos watered; but God gave the increase. So then neither is he that planteth anything, neither he that watereth, but God that giveth the increase.”

One of my children-in-the-Lord trusted in his ability to work hard so he made a habit of always working overtime. However, he still could not make ends meet in spite of being a child of God. His situation later changed positively when he realized that God has to bless the work of our hands for us to be truly successful.

It is only God who blesses without adding sorrow (Proverbs 10:22).

Seek Him genuinely today and He will give you the power to get wealth with no sorrow in it.

PRAYER POINT: Thank You, Lord, for giving me the power to get wealth. I declare that I am blessed of the Lord, in Jesus’ name.

TOPIC: A Very Present Help

MEMORISE: And call upon me in the day of trouble: I will deliver thee, and thou shalt glorify me. – Psalm 50:15

READ: 1 Samuel 1:9-20 (KJV)

9 So Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk. Now Eli the priest sat upon a seat by a post of the temple of the Lord.

10 And she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed unto the Lord, and wept sore.

11 And she vowed a vow, and said, O Lord of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thine handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thine handmaid, but wilt give unto thine handmaid a man child, then I will give him unto the Lord all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

12 And it came to pass, as she continued praying before the Lord, that Eli marked her mouth.

13 Now Hannah, she spake in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard: therefore Eli thought she had been drunken.

14 And Eli said unto her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee.

15 And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before the Lord.

16 Count not thine handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my complaint and grief have I spoken hitherto.

17 Then Eli answered and said, Go in peace: and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition that thou hast asked of him.

18 And she said, Let thine handmaid find grace in thy sight. So the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more sad.

19 And they rose up in the morning early, and worshipped before the Lord, and returned, and came to their house to Ramah: and Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and the Lord remembered her.

20 Wherefore it came to pass, when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bare a son, and called his name Samuel, saying, Because I have asked him of the Lord.

BIBLE IN ONE YEAR: 1 Chronicles 11-15

Open Heaven 19th October 2021 MESSAGE:

When a child of God is confronted with a challenge in life, all he or she needs to do is call out to the Lord in prayer. When Jesus was travelling in a ship with His disciples, a great storm blew up and the disciples were afraid. The Bible says “And his disciples came to him, and awoke him, saying, Lord, save us: we perish.” (Matthew 8:25).

The good thing about calling upon God in the time of trouble is that He is ever ready to rise to the occasion. The Bible further says “And he saith unto them, Why are ye fearful, O ye of little faith? Then he arose, and rebuked the winds and the sea; and there was a great calm.” (Matthew 8:26).

Some Christians pretend that all is well, even in the presence of the Lord, whereas they may be having serious spiritual, health, material and even financial issues. In the case of the disciples however, they cried to the Lord for help; they told Him exactly how they felt about the storm. Jesus Christ responded to their cry and stilled the storm. I pray that as you cry to the Lord today, He will not just hear but also respond in Jesus’ name. The storm of your life will miraculously cease today, in Jesus’ name.

In our Bible reading of today, we can see what one must do when he or she needs a miracle. Hannah needed a miracle but from year to year, she had been going to Shiloh until that wonderful year when she realized she needed to do what she had not been doing before – fervent and heartfelt prayer! A times when I see how some of my children pray during the various programmes at the Camp, I rejoice because the tempo of their prayers signifies that they are in need of urgent miracles.

God has promised never to forsake his children so, whenever you are faced with any challenge, call on Him and He will answer you. Psalm 46:1 says:

“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”

I am always excited to join my faith with those of my children-in-the-Lord when I see them praying desperately. My prayer is that as you cry to God today, your miracle will reach you sooner than you expect, in Jesus’ name.

ACTION POINT: Pray as you have never done before. Today, is your day for answered prayers, in the mighty name of Jesus.
