TOPIC: WHO ARE THE BEINGS IN GOD’S PRESENCE THAT IS FULL OF JOY?
Beloved in Christ,
The Scriptures reveal remarkable classes of beings associated with the presence of God. The presence of God is not an empty or lifeless atmosphere. It is the dwelling place of the Holy, Living and Eternal God, surrounded by heavenly beings and, through Christ, made accessible to the redeemed.
Note 1: “In thy presence is fulness of joy.”
Why is there fullness of joy in God’s presence?
Because God Himself is there; Christ is there; the Holy Spirit is there; heavenly beings worship there; the redeemed have access there; the Bread of Life is there; the River of Life flows there; and ultimately, there is no more death, sorrow, crying or pain.
1. GOD HIMSELF — THE SOURCE AND CENTRE OF JOY
God Himself is the ultimate source, centre and fullness of divine presence.
“Isaiah 57:15. “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place...”
God inhabits eternity. He is the eternal King, the source of life and the fountain of every good and perfect gift. James 1:17.
Note 2. “In thy presence is fulness of joy.” Why?
Because the fullness of joy does not primarily come from what is around God; it comes from God Himself.
Psalm 36:9. “For with thee is the fountain of life: in thy light shall we see light.”
Psalm 4:6-7. “… LORD, lift thou up the light of thy countenance upon us. Thou hast put gladness in my heart...”
Therefore:
Where the Fountain of Life is, there is no shortage of life; where the God of joy is, there is no ultimate shortage of joy. He does not give joy as a ration; He IS fullness of joy.
