TOPIC: READ GOD'S WORD DAILY

“Take this book of the law, and put it in the side of the ark of the covenant of the
Lord your God, that it may be there for a witness against thee.”Deuteronomy 31:26.

MESSAGE
Glory be to our Lord Jesus Christ for the great things He has done for us. He purposely delivers us from our captivities by giving us the certificate of His grace through His written words.

In the Old Testament, God gave His people the book of the Law to put inside the ark which they carried about in their journey in the wilderness. But today, Jesus has given us the words of His grace through the power of the Holy Ghost to enable us
to become full partakers of His physical and spiritual blessings.

Empower yourself with His Word and make all the goodness that has been buried come alive again. How often do you study your Bible? Read it, meditate on it, and apply it; it will lead you to the open door of spiritual empowerment for restoration to achieve greatness.

If you read the word of God daily and understand it, make use of it and it will turn around your life for better and the covenant of God with you will stand sure.

TOPIC: A SOLID FOUNDATION

“Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock”Matthew7:24.

MESSAGE
Everyone wants to build on a solid foundation. Before we make any investment, we always want to be sure we've been well informed. Likewise, when building a house, we tend to employ trusted architects who will give us their best design of what we have in mind—especially for the sake of a good foundation.

The danger of not building on a solid foundation is that the house will eventually collapse and sometimes, lives are also lost in the process. The scripture tells us that the difference between a wise and a foolish man with regards to what they build is all about the foundation—the wise build on a solid foundation (the rock) while the foolish build on a weak foundation (on the sand).

If foundations are that important, then it is highly imperative to build our eternal future on a solid foundation. Apostle Paul told us what that looks like: “For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.” (1 Corinthians
3:11). Is Christ the foundation of your life? If you are born again, then you have established your eternal hope on a solid foundation and other areas in your life will
be set on that same foundation. If you are not born again, you belong to the other category—the fools. You can change that label today by just calling upon Jesus to take over the leadership of your life.

ACTION POINT
🖋️ Are you convinced that Jesus is the foundation of your life? The way to know
is to check whether you are obeying His Word or not.

SCRIPTURES
1 Corinthians 3:11; Ephesians 2:20; Isaiah 28:16.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord, thank You for laying a true foundation for all men to build upon;

2. Father, teach me to continue to trust You in this journey through life in Jesus
name;

3. Lord, give me the grace to obey You even more in Jesus' name.

*TOPIC: THE PRIEST'S GARMENT*

“And these are the garments which they shall make; a breastplate, and an ephod,
and a robe, and a broidered coat, a mitre, and a girdle: and they shall make holy garments for Aaron thy brother, and his sons, that he may minister unto mein the priest's office.” Exodus 28:4.

*MESSAGE*
In Exodus 28, Moses received instructions on the garments for the priests of Israel. Priests in Israel held positions of great honour. God set them apart by requiring them to be holy. They were to keep themselves ceremonially clean, and they were not to copy what the nations around them were doing. Neither was a priest to make himself unclean by marrying a pr******te, a divorced woman, or a non-Israelite woman who did not worship God. Priests were to dress and groom themselves in such a way
that any time one saw a priest, he would be instantly recognised as a holy person and thus worthy of respect.

This speaks to, at least, two groups of people today. First, church elders and leaders. As the priesthood in Israel was a position of honour, our elders today should also see their
office as being honourable and make themselves good examples in our churches and in society. They should be deserving of respect. They, too, should dress and groom themselves in such a way that whenever one sees them, they would be easy to recognise and respect.

Besides, in the new covenant, every believer is a priest! When people meet us, it should be in places where we will be treated with respect, not in sinful places. We have been set apart by God to serve Him, so we are to be examples of holiness.

*ACTION POINT*
🖋️ Think about how you usually dress. Does this reflect you as a priest of God?

*SCRIPTURES*
Exodus 28:1-43.

*PRAYER POINTS*
1. Father, thank You for choosing me as part of Your royal priesthood.

2. Lord, give me the grace to always be a good example to others in the name of Jesus;

3. Father, let everyone who sees me always see Your glory in my life in the name of Jesus.

TOPIC: THE TESTIMONY OF CALEB

_“Forty years old was I when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me, from Kadesh-barnea to spy out the Land; I brought word again as it was in mine heart. Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the Lord my God . . . And now, behold, the Lord hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years . . . Lo, I am this dayfourscore and five years old”_ Joshua 14:7-10.

*MESSAGE*
This testimony of Caleb teaches faith in the face of delay. Caleb saw the same
giant and walled city as the other spies. While the ten (10) other spies brought back an “evil report” of unbelief because of lack of faith in them, Caleb's word declared a conviction—a “positive confession” before all Israel. “We are well able to overcome”. He had actually surveyed the land and these remind us that faith is not blind. Faith does not deny the reality of difficulty but it declares the unfailing power of God to overcome in the face of the problem.

Jesus declared, “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation; but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Though there are bound to be problems, victory is assured. Christians should equally not be blind about this (RH 441 stanza 1).

Faith is the bridge between delay and the blessing of God. That Caleb eventually
possessed the land at a later date indicates that even though delay is being experienced, the confession of faith will ultimately bring victory to the believer.

ACTION POINTS
🖋️ Give voice to your faith by positive confession.

SCRIPTURES
Joshua 14:7-10; Numbers 13:30; John 16:33; RH 441 stanza 1.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Lord give me the mind of patience that overcomes tribulations in the name of Jesus;

2. Lord, give me power of positive thinking that releases positive confession
in the name of Jesus.

TOPIC: GOD IS FAITHFUL

“Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations”. Deuteronomy 7:9.

MESSAGE
God is faithful. That's a powerful statement. To be faithful means to keep one's promises, to keep an agreement. God is perfect in all of his characteristics, so he is perfectly faithful. That means that every promise he gives is a promise that he will keep.

God also desires that we be faithful to him. In fact, much of the Old Testament
talks about the unfaithfulness of the people of Israel despite God's constant faithfulness to them.

We want to be faithful, and we hope that the people around us are faithful too.
But faithfulness is not work that we must do in order to be accepted by God. It is a fruit of the Spirit's work in us.

The prophet Jeremiah reminds us of God's faithfulness: “It is of the Lord's mercies that we are not consumed, because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: great is thy faithfulness” (Lamentations 3:22-23). So go into this day remembering that God is perfectly faithful. He will keep all of His promises to you.

ACTION POINT
🖋️ Faithfulness is the fruit of God's Spirit working in you; let the Faithful God work in you to the point where you begin to bear the fruit of
faithfulness, too.

SCRIPTURES
1 Corinthians 1:9; 1 Thessalonians 5:24; 2 Timothy 2:13.

PRAYER POINTS
1. Father, thank You for being faithful to me.

2. Lord, keep all of your promises concerning my life in the name of Jesus.

3. Lord, give me the grace to exhibit faithfulness in my relationships and interactions with others in the name of Jesus.

THE VOICE OF SALVATION
DAILY DEVOTIONAL

MONDAY 16TH DECEMBER 2019

*TOPIC: DISCIPLINE*

*“He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock. But he that heareth, and doeth not, is like a man that without a foundation built a house upon the earth; against which the stream did beat vehemently, and immediately it fell; and the ruin of that house was great.” Luke 6:48-49 (KJV)*

As a ballet dancer and instructor of the art, I have seen much wanting to “get there” without laying the proper foundation. What results is, at best, weak technique lacking in grace and fluidity, and, at worst, dangerous ways of ex*****on that may result in physical injury. Correctness, beauty and freedom of movement are achieved only by years of hard work and study. DISCIPLINE!

What about a believer in Jesus who does not take the time and exercise the discipline to build a strong foundation in the Word of God or get to know the Lord by spending time with Him? Just as in our analogy the result is weakness, error, danger, injury, or collapse.

For this reason we do not want to be too quick in our ways. He who does not build a foundation upon rock may find their home instead collapsed upon the sands of time. Be careful in your efforts and determined in your progress.

We are to be rooted and grounded in Him, if we are to be disciples of Jesus. A disciple is an imitator, a learner, indeed an apprentice. Such discipline assures that our foundation will be strong, and we will stand in the day of adversity.

*PRAYER:*
“Lord, I am are sorry for the times I have not been disciplined in the study of your Word and in prayer. Help me form the habits that build a strong foundation on You, the Rock. May I have the discipline and mental fortitude to see my faith through good times and bad.”

THE VOICE OF SALVATION
DAILY DEVOTIONAL

FRIDAY 13TH DECEMBER 2019

*TOPIC: HUMBLED BY GRACE*

*‘For all who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.’ (Luke 14:11)*

Favored child of God, know that God loves to exalt the humble.

For it is in our weakness that God’s grace superabounds.

When we come to the end of ourselves, God takes over and shows His strength.
He lifts us up to high places. He adorns us with crowns of glory and robes of righteousness.

Like the prodigal son, when we humble ourselves and turn to our Father in Heaven, He’ll fling His arms around us in loving embrace. He’ll put a ring on your finger and sandals on your feet. And you’ll share in His honor and riches as His rightful child.

Do you realize that the prodigal son could have saved himself lots of misery and suffering if he had laid down his pride earlier and returned to his father?

He could have gone back home earlier, admit his faults, and have his honor restored.

Yet, it was his pride that stopped him from doing so. He’d rather wallow in his own sins, than to put down his pride and return to his loving father.

That’s why God tells us that those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and that those who humble themselves will be exalted.

For all good things come from God. When we understand that, when we stop trying to show God up with our own efforts. When we humbly realize that God loves us despite all our faults and wants to bless us more than we know. Then, we’ll be able to be exalted by Him, back to our rightful place as His royal child.

So if we were to boast, if we were to be proud, let us be proud of God’s grace.

For what have we done? What can we add to Jesus’ perfect work?

It’s not by our hands, but by God’s grace that we’ve been redeemed.

Therefore, stay humble before God and man. There’s nothing for us to prove.

God will exalt you on your behalf.

Be Greatly Blesse

*PRAYER*
Father, thank you for your wonderful grace.

All that I have, all that I am, is because of you.

Help me to stay humble before you.

When things are going well, help me to stay humble and remember that all my success comes from you.

When things are not going well, help me to remember that I don’t have to do it all alone. Remove my pride, so that I may learn to fully rely on you.

I humble myself before you today, and receive the full measure of your grace.

THE VOICE OF SALVATION
DAILY DEVOTIONAL

MONDAY 9TH DECEMBER 2019

*TOPIC: ANOTHER CHANCE*
*“Then Peter came up and said to him, ‘Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?’ Jesus said to him, ‘I do not say to you seven times, but seventy times seven.’” Matthew 18:21-22.*

What a powerful message Jesus is sending in this moment. Peter understands that people need second chances sometimes. But what Jesus is saying is that we must continue to work with others even when they have wronged us. It can take a great amount of time and patience with some, certainly more than others. The important thing is that we all keep trying in the face of adversity.

We must be patient with those around us just as the Lord is patient with us. Everyone is on their own journey and we each have our own strengths and weaknesses. Today I challenge you to forgive someone in your life who has wronged you. Can you think of anyone who has recently let you down?

On another note, if you have found yourself coming up short lately, embrace the opportunity for a second chance. Perhaps you have not been living as though the Lord would approve of. The Lord is patient with us, and through Jesus we can be forgiven for our sins. Take the opportunity to confess to your sins.

Alternatively, perhaps you have recently not been righteous to someone in your life. Does anything you’ve done recently stand out to you? Take the opportunity to apologize to those you have hurt. If you see an opportunity to make amends, jump at the chance! You may be pleasantly surprised by their willingness to offer a second chance to you. What is the harm in trying?

*PRAYER:*
“Lord, thank you for being patient with me. Your love and kindness knows no limits and I thank you for the opportunity to have a second chance when I have sinned. I want to work hard each day to make my life a righteous one worth living. Help guide me to be the best that I can be.”
